When you walk in it smells clean. A lot of times facilities smell strongly of urine. It was great to see how clean everything is. My uncle has a shared room. I didn't get to meet his roommate but my uncle likes him. My uncle had family photos on a shelf. He seemed very happy to be living there. We looked at the calendar and talked about all of the activities he could participate in. There were quite a few. He talked about how good the food is. I'm am very happy with the facility. It really makes me happy that my uncle is so happy. I can relax knowing he's in good hands.

The nurses the CNA the na's are all fantastic and they work so hard but the housekeeping departments have failed and it is only because of main management of the facility oversight and they are the only ones to blame. Willow healthcare corporate is the main problem when it comes to running these facilities because they know who to hire to take care of the people but not who to hire to take care of the building.

All professional acting staff. Had a tour of the Montclair, and all I saw was smiles on everyone there. They have a full schedule of activities daily, top of the line weekly menu, also have a Montclair Bistro. This certainly is a place where "You can make yourself Love the Way you Live". My wife and I decided to sign up to live here and will be moving here in June. TJ, Amanda, and Jennifer were excellent and we felt we were part of the Montclair family. The Montclair looks like a well kept castle. Service is wonderful, and at the age of 71 we are ready to get away from maintenance, housekeeping, and preparing food, because it is done for you. We have found a hassle-free lifestyle in any top notch independent living community, enjoying restaurant style dining, scheduled transportation and daily activities to keep us happy and healthy! Don't know why they have a button for patients to call for a nurse to help them when they don't answer the call or come to the room. There were only a couple of the nursing/CNA staff there that were pleasant. All of the other staff were less than pleasant and were snarky when speaking with them. Forget about the weekends as there was a fill-in nurse at the nurses station. She never left the station and was playing games on her phone the entire time. Only one CNA(?) for several patients and saw her once walking down the hallway. The nurses station down in another hall had 4-5 nurses and other staff which were sitting at the nurses station chit chatting and laughing like they were at a get together. Supposedly, all patients are supposed to get a shower twice a week. That never happened. My family member got ONE bedside clean-up the week they were there. My family member was supposed to get physical therapy while there, the whole reason he was there. They barely did any physical therapy! The first 3 days he didn't get any physical therapy. The other days were very minimal. My loved one will NEVER go there again!

Review of The Gardens Memory Care…read more Parent with a diagnosis of Dementia of Alzheimer's type was there just under 6 months when they requested we find another facility. This was due to increased falls and cognitive decline resulting in mobility issues. We were informed the facility was not staffed to provide walking assistance or wheelchair transfers. We were advised to apply to skilled nursing facilities, but several rejected our request since there are no health issues other than dementia that require skilled care. Administration promised to help find a new facility. However, it became apparent that their "help" was only sending out more referrals to other skilled nursing facilities with no regard to ratings or location. During this process, parent was suddenly moved to a different room with no prior notice. We expressed concerns that this was not in the best interest since we would be relocating to another facility soon. Our concerns were dismissed and the move occurred in less than an hour! This was a direct violation of patient rights of having a written notice before changing rooms or roommates. On the positive side, the CMTs and aides were extremely kind and attentive. These providers were expected to care for residents' needs, dispense medicines, unlock door for visitors, take phone calls, plate food that was sent from the Assisted Living side, serve meals, and clean up. Often there were only 2 people on the floor to do all of these tasks. Needless to say, there were times meals were late due to lack of help! Bottom line: This is Level 1 Memory Care, so as disease advances, they are not equipped to handle the decline. Administration talks a good talk, but it pretty much ends there. While we recognize this is a business, we believe better communication and understanding toward patient families are necessary. The staff members who care for residents are compassionate and positive. They bond with residents, and it is apparent they truly care about them. Staff deserves a 5-star rating, but the overall facility rating is lower due to administrative decisions.

I was very impressed and will definitely put this independent living home complex at the top of our family's list to consider and learn more about. Thank you to the associate that was so kind and gracious to show me around. This is such a big decision for a family to make and you sincerely made me feel that each resident is important there.

I have confidence in him and if I have to wait a bit that's the way it goes. His front desk assistants are very helpful and kind. I find he's honest which I appreciate.
