My dad booked cabin 11. This cabin needed a lot of updating and repairs. The dishwasher did not work, the hot water only lasted for 3 minutes, the paint was missing on walls and the deck was also in bad shape. The bathroom floor was rotting away. The decor was shabby and the cabin needed a deep cleaning. Carpets were disgusting. The fridge froze our food. Many of the light fixtures were missing bulbs or the bulbs were dead. My parents and I were very disappointed in this cabin as it was over $400/night. My dad called during the stay to make complaints and the host did not call back. He made several other attempts to contact her to request at least partial refund and she never called him back. See photos.

It's a MUST for any traveler up the NorCal/Oregon coast. There's a spiritual aspect to the place. Tony, the owner, has been there over 30 years. His deep sense of calm permeates everything. You are right on the water and two delightful animals are your only company - Chica the dog, and Cuca the cat. Or maybe it's the other way around. We stayed in the Nest. It was perfect for two! There were two darling little plates of coffee cake left for us. A big giant coffeemaker, and two little containers in the fridge, one of fresh oj, the the other of milk. The rooms were spotless. Folks have left little signed pieces of driftwood and rocks around the room. We did ours on a rock. You feel like you are on your own private beach and indeed you are. She was very nice to my kids as well. The grounds here are absolutely beautiful. The trees, the deer, the birds, the wild turkeys, and more. During the evening I felt like we were confined to our room upstairs as opposed to sitting outside on the patio to see the stars or even walking downstairs because of the dog, which he was sweet, but he barks. I wasn't aware of the indoor cat either. The cat was very friendly but my husband and I are both allergic to cats.

We had access to a full sized fridge/freezer downstairs as well as use of a microwave and toaster oven if we needed it. I can't think of a single thing that we needed; Richard and Ana have thought of everything that you might need during your stay. Arky's uses Hotel quality sheets and towels (all 100% cotton). The bed in the garden view room was incredibly comfortable (king: bamboo pillowtop mattress) with an additional bamboo mattress topper. Plenty of pillow of various soft/firmness. I wouldn't change a thing. I slept like a rock. I'm not sure how many rooms they rent out each night, but there seemed to be different couples and even an entire family staying during our time there. Never once did we hear anyone else in the house unless we left our room. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this place over staying at a local hotel; they are priced about the same.

Only downside I experienced was the shower water running a little cold halfway through the second shower. We did not have the breakfast so I cannot comment on that. Overall, great place to stay!

I loved this place!!! I didn't realize it would be as amazing as it was until I got there. The grounds were beautiful. The interior was pretty and organized with unique and antique decor. We stayed in the African suite. It was cozy and extremely comfortable. We didn't have time to use the jacuzzi tub, but it looked spectacular. The complimentary sherry in the decanter was extremely classy and the perfect nightcap to our evening. The long deck was amazing to see the fog roll in and the sun come up. The sounds of the fountain were very relaxing. David was so accommodating and friendly. It is obvious that they take pride in giving their guests outstanding experiences. David's breakfast was so delicious and gave us the fuel we needed for a day of hiking at Redwood. He also gave some recommendations based on his experiences in the area. My only regret is that we didn't arrive earlier so we could have spent more time there. We didn't arrive until late. I highly recommend this place.
