Standing in the entry door to our room. This view never gets old.

We've been coming here for twelve years and it's still our favorite getaway. Downtown Brookings is close enough for shopping and dining but being on the mouth of the winchuck river feels wonderfully remote. We spend hours just watching the surf though there is tv and dvd on hand. In the summer the beach is usually vacant because access is inconvenient for folks who don't live here. In the winter we enjoy snuggling inside watching the rain and the waves. Any time of year has it's strong points. The room is very clean and comfortable. The wife loves the extra deep tub. We love coming here and doing absolutely nothing.

This place is a hidden gem. Barbara is so incredibly sweet, rooms are so nice, and it's just a short stroll down to your very own private beach. I can not wait to stay here again!!

Just another relaxing afternoon on the deck at Lowden's B&B!

Richard and Ana stay onsite. After being welcomed, shown our room and given a quick tour, we only saw them again at breakfast the next morning. THE BREAKFAST: Wow, just wow. I'm a foodie so when I go somewhere to eat it better be something I can't easily replicate at home. Ana really out does herself with a multiple course breakfast. Very filling, clean eating, freaking DELICIOUS! Everything from the delicate slightly-sweet breads to the hearty main course which always includes eggs in some form, to the fresh fruit to the handmade desserts accompanying every breakfast. The coffee is safe (not too strong, not too weak, not at all bitter). They also offer loose leaf tea if coffee is not your thing. VERY HAPPY with Breakfast prepared by Ana. Breakfast is worth the trip all by itself *YUM* Their attention to detail is exhausting. There are too many amenities to list and even little snacks on tables though out the house. We had access to a full sized fridge/freezer downstairs as well as use of a microwave and toaster oven if we needed it. I can't think of a single thing that we needed; Richard and Ana have thought of everything that you might need during your stay. Arky's uses Hotel quality sheets and towels (all 100% cotton). The bed in the garden view room was incredibly comfortable (king: bamboo pillowtop mattress) with an additional bamboo mattress topper. Plenty of pillow of various soft/firmness. I wouldn't change a thing. I slept like a rock. I'm not sure how many rooms they rent out each night, but there seemed to be different couples and even an entire family staying during our time there. Never once did we hear anyone else in the house unless we left our room. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this place over staying at a local hotel; they are priced about the same.

We couldn't have asked for better hosts! Due to Covid we couldn't gather for breakfast but they were happy to leave fresh coffee, scones (sooooooo good!), and prepared eggs from their chickens. Seriously those scones were to die for! We had a wonderful time getting away to Mermaid's Muse and we can't wait to visit again!

I loved this place!!! I didn't realize it would be as amazing as it was until I got there. The grounds were beautiful. The interior was pretty and organized with unique and antique decor. We stayed in the African suite. It was cozy and extremely comfortable. We didn't have time to use the jacuzzi tub, but it looked spectacular. The complimentary sherry in the decanter was extremely classy and the perfect nightcap to our evening. The long deck was amazing to see the fog roll in and the sun come up. The sounds of the fountain were very relaxing. David was so accommodating and friendly. It is obvious that they take pride in giving their guests outstanding experiences. David's breakfast was so delicious and gave us the fuel we needed for a day of hiking at Redwood. He also gave some recommendations based on his experiences in the area. My only regret is that we didn't arrive earlier so we could have spent more time there. We didn't arrive until late. I highly recommend this place. I was so impressed by the room, service, grounds, and breakfast. Thanks David!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Anna Wulf's because we wanted to hike in the redwood forest. I wasn't sure what to expect, how the rooms were going to be like, if the food was going to be good, etc., But to my surprise, it was an amazing experience!! The food is AMAZING!! My favourite was the quiche and the flourless cookies... yummy!! My boyfriend LOVED their bacon and they even made him extra strong drip coffee (which is a must to try if you're a coffee lover). Paula is the best. She is perhaps one of the sweetest people I know and I always wanted to hug her. She's so friendly and I loved eating and listening to her contagious laugh. She suggested a lot of places for us to visit and recommended an amazing trail (boyscout trail) that led to a beautiful waterfall. We were also blessed to meet Mitzi, who is just a loveable person! I basically can't tell you how much I loved this place. The location is great as well! Very close to a lot of things and we ended up going to Oregon for a day. Lastly, the HOUSE... we stayed in the Mayor's room which has a window overlooking the streets so it was quite lovely. The mistress room is quite exciting-- there are naked pictures on the wall so it does create the raunchy feeling, but it's far from tasteless. Loved it and I can't wait to go back!!
