The staff are friendly and welcoming. Having the other shops nearby (currently there is a convenience store, off license, pharmacy, as well as a Chinese restaurant just in case you fancy being particularly greedy) means you can go for a wee dander and have a look about before your order, just in case you need to pick up a few extra bits and pieces. Presumably the sight of her son getting a hiding is normal to super-mum as she turned away and started sucking on a carton of sukie. The fight was joined by another kid from the seated area and it continued outside to the noise of the sukie carton getting sucked flat. I reached for my phone to video the melee and was surprised to find this had happened inside 2 minutes of getting there. After what seemed a very long wait, we got our food and like Jay-zee, "facked aff" home. Oh dear, the food was not good, admittedly they poor girls working were flat out, but seriously, I wasn't impressed, wafer thin burnt batter that just fell off, greasy chips and what seemed like a mere teaspoon of curry sauce. We decided we didn't want to pig out completely so we opted to get 2 battered sausages (these always come with a few chips - inside tip right there) and a fish supper. This was easily enough for both of us to have a massive meal. The chips are what makes this chippy a cut above the rest, they are thick and potatoey (that's a word I just invented) and when soaked in salt and vinegar they are highly addictive. The fresh fish used is perfect. I have to say I was shocked about how good this place was. The service was excellent too. We placed our order and within about 10 minutes we had it and we were on our merry way. The meal was still pipping hot when we returned, a sure sign it was cooked fresh.
