I attended the Harley-Davidson riding class, and I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in motorcycles, not just learning how to ride, but also safety, laws, and everything else that comes with riding. If it has to do with motorcycles, you'll know it by the end of the class. It was a great experience. When they say you don't need any prior experience, believe them, you truly don't. Brian was my first point of contact and he was very patient in me signing me up for the class. I had to switch my class around because I forgot about a conflict I had with my schedule. He simply said, no problem and made it happen (within the timeframe before it was a problem of course). I attended the three day class with Ian and Jody as faciliators yesterday and I would hands down, recommend it to anyone that needs training. They were patient and kind but also firm on what best practices to use while riding. I just graduated my course thanks to the help of Ian Myer and Dave Rusk. The two instructors worked in tandem to build my ability to be a safe and better rider. Better yet, the course breaks down practice with practicality. You'll feel and know how to ride better by the end of this journey. I say this as a rider who straight failed the practical the first time around. My first time riding a bike was stressful but fun. Eventually it just became fun after my second round. Value wise there isn't a better option. Training value alone is worth it but cost is great as well. For the price they charge you get unlimited practice even after you finish the course. So I already passed my MSF course and obtained my class m license in Chicago, but because of the pandemic I couldn't practice more until I was ready to by a bike and then the winter came. I moved to Cali in 2021 and I was ready to work on buying a bike this year. I've been researching on bikes and riding safely for three years now, but actually practicing on a bike is more beneficial than just reading. That's the reason why I wanted to take this class and this was the closest location to me and fit my schedule. The people in the Harley dealership are really nice and welcoming in a natural way so I was already considering this to be the place I'll go to buy my bike. After the class Dave and Brian really solidified that feeling. These two are hilariously great together and brought so much knowledge that improved my knowledge. Every time I messed up they would tell me what I messed up on and how to improve it and they seen the progress I made for the entire class session. The class only has 8 people and I felt this was a perfect balance to give me and everyone an equal chance of correcting and one on one time. Lastly, my helmet was too small and gave me a headache during the entire course and my riding boot kept getting stuck when I needed to shift. I expressed this to Brian and he recommended me to check out the helmets and shoes at the dealership. Boy did this improved my skills and confidence out on the bike by A LOT! So much so that Brian noticed the improved and we joked a lot about it. I will be returning back to the place and practice with Brian, Dave, and hopefully Sherri! I'm glad I found this place and I feel it was worth the driving distance from Lake Forest! read more

Great classes held by knowledgeable instructors. Dave and Paul are great teachers with a lot of riding experience under their belt. (I heard Paul even did the iron butt challenge of riding from Mexico to Canada.) I signed up online through Riverside Harley. Easy and quick. Make sure to get your rest for the early morning classes, 7am comes around quick. The staff at the dealership is great, look through their clearance section for gear if it's your first time. Riding was great especially since the bikes are pretty new (sport 500's). Small bikes but great to learn on for all sizes. I'm 6ft 300lb and my father in laws fiancé was there taking the class and she's around 5'5 130lb, bikes fit us both great for the class. Take your time, be open to learning and criticism, most of all have fun! I was lucky enough to ride with a few veterans and made some friends! The course I took was very informative and the instructors and staff were great. Dave Rusk and Dave Atwood are passionate about teaching proper riding techniques and ways to stay safe when riding a motorcycle. I would really recommend this course if you want to learn how to ride a motorcycle. The instructors Brain (Manager), Dan, Ian and Paul are all great! I'm 61 and wanted to learn how to ride and I am not really a fast learner. I did not pass my first time taking the skills test, because I was really nervous and needed more practice. The good thing with this course is that you can retake it again for free. So I did the 2 days of riding again and passed. If this old guy can do it you can to. Just don't give up because everyone learns at a different pace. The instructors will help you in anyway for you to get better and to learn how to ride safely. A day after I took my DMV test and passed. Hope this helps anyone thinking about riding. Oh one last tip, like me I did not even ride a bike for over 35 yrs. So I would recommend you practice riding a bicycle to learn how to balance again it really helps. read more

I am hoping to get the word out. This is really good service! Instructors were super cool and while your taking the class you are eligible for a discount at the HD store. For my class we met at the store on Friday for an in house class at the HD store. They provided water and snacks. We were givin a workbook and Calf. Motorcylcle Handbook . Watched videos that works with the workbook. This would have been very boring if it were not for the insturctors keeping it light and interesting. Following day we meet at 7 am at the Perris fairgrounds. Super cold. Here they gave us a motorcyle and helmet to use. after many hours of instruction and hands on course driving we cut out at noon and met back at the HD store where we did some more book work and reviewed the days riding. Day 3 - more hands on and a pass/fail riding test. If you failed you are allowed to repeat the class. How Nice! Then lunch written test and super sweet award ceramony! From the before I took this course to the very end, the entire staff was extremely helpful. I am currently stationed in Hawaii with the military and was coming home for leave, so I emailed Brian, the manager, to ask to see if there was going to be any classes during my time back home. Being a first time rider of motorcycles, I was a bit intimidated. That intimidation and fear all went away when the class was introduced to the instructors (Brian and Dan). The relaxed and professional instructions provided by these two individuals was exactly what I needed to get over any anxiety about riding for the first time. I finally decided to take the course and see if I even like riding before I go and buy a bike. I am so happy that I did. A week after I passed the course I went to the DMV and got my M1 license. You only have to take the written test if you pass the course. The instructors were great and very knowledgeable. I had a few questions before the course started. I called Brian at the Riverside dealership and he called me back and left his cell number so If any other concerns or questions came up I could contact him directly. This course was so much FUN!!!! Dave and Paul were encouraging, safe, thoughtful, patient, knowledgeable. The course started on Friday and we met all weekend, but the knowledge I received was priceless. I had never ridden a motorcycle before, and I was so nervous but the instructors taught us how to ride in a fun safe controlled manner. I'm not saying I'm ready for prime time or anything, but Harley Riverside does not end the relationship once you pass the course, they stay in touch with you to keep improving. They have many courses to choose from to help build and improve your experience. It is not about paying for additional courses, but their main objective is that anyone who takes their course is prepared and they are all about saving lives and ridding in the safest manner possible. The instructors gave us three promises: 1. Recognize risk on the road and learn new skills 2. Basic understanding on how the bike works 3. If you're a true beginner and/or slow learner, this isn't the class for you. I've never been on a motorcycle before, and most of my classmates already had some, even if limited, experience. They were picking up basic skills faster than me, again because they already had exposure to these things. I was progressing, just not at the same pace as everyone else. At the beginning of the course they ask you to agree to not hold back your classmates from learning, I thought this meant being mean or rude if someone wasn't getting something. It turns out that wasn't the case, after dropping the bike a few times the instructors asked me to leave because, and I quote "you're a safety risk to yourself and you are holding up the class." For the risk to myself argument, we signed a waiver so it's not like I could sue if I got hurt. As for the holding up the class point, what kind of class asks the person that needs the most help to leave?? I was only there for 2hrs of the total 18hr range practice and I couldn't get a refund after THEY asked me to leave, I feel robbed. I wish this information would've been disclosed prior to paying 400$. They mislead you by saying it's beginner friendly, but in reality they're on a time crunch and you will be held to the same standard as the classmates with experience because if you're not getting it AS FAST as others they're going to ask you to leave rather than help you improve. read more
