    Fish & Chips

Date: 18 January, 2026 Item: Fish and Chips (One of their popular food items) Price: $22 (includes service fee since we were in a group of more than 5 people) Service: Nice. The servers were cordial. Well - behaved. Ambiance: Will give you a posh vibe. Taste: Absolutely loved it. The tartar sauce was the game changer. The fish was crunchy from the outside and soft from the inside. French fries were delicious too.

    2-for-1 pasta night

Despite it's location being inside a hotel, Riverside knocked it out of the park. We arrived about 30 min before they switched to the late night menu, and happily sat at the bar area. They have a great menu for non/low- alcoholic mocktails! They were one of the few places in town that actually uses Wilderton non-alcoholic spirits (distilled in the same area) in their mocktails. It looks seasonal too, since there was some holiday themed drinks when we were there. Our server/bartender said that they were doing a 2-for-1 pasta night so obviously we had to go for that. Not sure if that was typical on a Thursday night or if it was because we went there late. Pasta was delicious, nicely sauced and pasta still al dente! Ambience wise it was very festive, apparently this is where a lot of people stay for the Polar Express train nearby. So lots of people in pajamas! Definitely give this place a go if you're in town!

My daughter and I revisited Riverside- we stopped here 4 years ago after a great weekend together and after another fun experience in Hood River riding the Railbikes we were up for a meal & views!! Our server was fantastic and we remembered the beet salad from last time and reordered that- we also got steak sandwich to share. I'm glad we had the sandwich- the salad was totally revamped in a way that some may enjoy...but, we felt the previous version was better highlighting the beet. The new version was beautiful- but was too much... Too much carrot, and other root vegetables that overshadowed the beet. They removed it from the bill which we appreciated. The steak sandwich was very good, it needed a bit more fondue sauce to moisten the toasted bread...otherwise, great flavor! The view is always the Big Draw- love looking at the water & birds

The staff here has always been so kind & we have not had to wait long to get sat & serviced. during the warmer seasons they have outdoor seating available with a wonderful view of the river and you see all these cute birds. they offer vegan and gluten free options! on one occasion my partner and i went out with his parents to celebrate a new job & a gentleman came out and gave us this vegan cheesecake! it was incredible and so kind. we have frequented this place many times as is it one of our favorites.

We had an overall decent experience. The food was okay, but the standout was definitely the Kids Chicken Strips--crispy and flavorful thanks to the panko batter. Here's what we ordered: * 2 Piece Fish & Chips - $25 * Steak Salad - $18 * Kids Noodles (Red sauce or Butter and Cheese) - $9 * Kids Chicken Strips - $10 Service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was a highlight, with beautiful views right in front of the Hood River. Kinda reminds me of Portland City Grill. "Great views with okay food".

Great stop after a fun day exploring the Columbia River Gorge. The beet salad was so fresh, filling, and delicious. They allowed an upgrade from the side of fries for my burger to the beet salad, which was super nice. The view is incredible and the woodwork inside the restaurant was sleek and luxurious.

4 of us ate there tonight, had the spicy cauliflower, Zuppa pasta, clam chowder, the burger and cioppino. Spicy cauliflower was soso, zuppa pasta quite good, clam chowder tasty but too heavy on potatoes and the cioppino nice quantity of seafood but tasteless broth. The specialty here are their pasta dishes, and the prices of the meals are reasonable. Service was good, wine and alcohol very expensive. The setting is very nice looking over the Columbia River. Considering the location the food could be a lot better.

We stayed at the Best Western and ate both dinner and breakfast at Riverside. Dinner: it would be beneficial if the menu indicated which items were gluten free as our server had to keep checking with the chef since the menu had recently changed. The chicken scaloppine can be made GF for which they omitted the flour dredge. They also had Gf corn rolls. We both ordered the house salad which is really large enough for two. Nice green goddess dressing! Salmon was delicious and the focaccia bread was awesome. Breakfast: the breakfast menu is marked for gluten and vegan friendly items. I had the avocado toast and husband had a traditional gf eggs, potato and toast breakfast. This establishment seems to be committed to offering plant based menu items if that's what you are looking for. Staff is very friendly and the river view is exceptional. You can sit inside or out.

Riverside @ Hood River, Oregon is a fine dining establishment, with excellent customer service. Easy to get to. The food was very tasty. The stay is sometimes possible at the Best Western Plus. They are a really popular Hotel. We enjoyed our visit during the fall colors. Seating is possible all year round outside and in doors with great picture windows to watch the river and natural beauty.

My Ku'uipo had the Salsciccia! He liked it, but he would've preferred them to add cheese to the top of it.

I will be reviewing this place again. This is my initial review first day that we arrived at the hotel. I am definitely happy that they are here and have a lounge. Our pasta dishes were delicious. I wished they had a chicken Parmesan on the menu. We were going to try the eggplant Parmesan. However, plant-based cheese is not our jam. The mussels were ok, but not a fan of olives in the broth. Our I enjoy the vibe of this place a lot. From the beautiful view of the river and the music that they play, very nice atmosphere & great vibe.

Full Sail is a very well respected micro brewery, founded in 1987 and the first craft brewery in the Pacific Northwest to bottle its beer. It's flagship Amber has won numerous awards, including recently in 2025 a Gold Medal at the NY International Beer Competition (along with the brewery being named Oregon Brewery of the Year). It has a large line-up of beers brewed inhouse There is a large paid parking lot across the street at $1.25 per hour, payable via credit card through nearby kiosks. Once entering, there is a long hallway, walking past the working areas of the brewery, until getting to the restaurant area. It has views of I-84, and further the Columbia River. The outdoor patio was not open (drizzling outside), and it was pretty crowded inside but we got lucky to be seated at a table near windows with a view. There have lunch and happy hour specials during weekdays. The lunch special is 1/2 of a sandwich (grilled cheese this day) along with a cup of their soup of the day (tomato). I was super excited about the Amber, so got a pint of that ($8) and pint of the Queen Wheat ($8). My wife enjoyed the Queen Wheat but didn't care for the Amber. I really liked the Amber, making me realize why I had drunk so much of that style earlier in my life when in Wisconsin, before switching over to wheat beer. There selection of beer is great, and a flight is the way to go ($18 of 6 5oz samplers). Buffalo Hot Wings ($17) - a decent amount of simply deep fried hot wings in a classic Frank's red hot buffalo sauce. Pretzel Bread Sticks ($13) - 4 large, warmed pretzels. Should have gotten the beer cheese to go with it. Salmon Fish & Chips ($20) - 3 small pieces of beer battered salmon, very dense and definitely tasting of wild caught salmon. It came with good fries and a really good, fresh cole slaw. There is a small refrigerator stocked with cans of certain beers for sale. Unfortunately, we were dismissively told that they were out of the Amber bottles for sale. So after our meal, went to the front to purchase directly from the front staff. Their Japanese rice beer from their Session lineup ($10 for a six pack) was available and what we brought back home with us.

The food was well received, with the brisket and smoked mac n cheese being the major highlights. My family could not stop raving about how tender and flavorful the brisket was. My Impossible Burger was really good and although I try to avoid the processed meat alternatives, it was a good cheat meal.
