Clean, fast, friendly, good home style food. Open face roast beef is good. Davida Oakes McMullen likes it. She's picky. If she says it's good, it's good. I had biscuits and gravy with bacon. Also good.

Riverside burger on garlic toast w/ pepper jack & bacon.

Great little mom & pop restaurant. The restaurant had great prices and a pretty decent selection without having millions of entrees. Most places have a huge menu with too many items to choose from. I ordered the riverside burger (8oz) on garlic toast with pepper jack and bacon. YUMMY! Crinkle cut fries on the side were just ok. They could use seasoning. They serve breakfast too, which looked amazing when I saw someone order "the little train wreck". The inside decor is old and quaint, from the outside there is nothing fancy. Don't let the looks of this little gem fool you. It is amazing!

Good food, but service is reserved for regulars, no one is particularly friendly to someone who is only in town on occasion.

I stopped in for a late lunch while in the area. This little diner brings great service. amazing…read morefood. and delectable desserts. It is a real and authentic slice of America.

Eat Local! That is always a great place to start when looking for a meal when on the road…read more Nothing "wrong" with the Big Chains, they have their place, but the local booths should always be sat in and their tables supped at. Maddy's fit the bill for a break away from work lunch while on the road. Right out of the 50's, this gleaming location greets you with chrome, red bar stools, the requisite "Kiss My Grits" tin sign on the wall, and 50's music piping from the speakers. The special that day: double cheeseburger. $6. In today's economy?? Only $6?? All the menu items were priced nicely, easy on the wallet. While I was tempted to try a burger, I wanted to see how a diner classic would pan out, so ordered the country fried steak. Placed my order, and before I could manage to take in all the deco on the walls the food arrived from the line station right behind the counter. They serve you a steak knife, but you don't need it, the steak is fork ready, as it should be. They give you two sides option, so I went with green beans and taters, of the french variant. Both were spot on, and I left full and satisfied. I think the total bill came in under $10 or right around there. Good food, filling, and super light on the budget - what more can you ask for? If you find yourself in Waverly, OH, and you would like to fill your belly without worrying about a side hustle to pay the tab, head to Maddy's.
