Note: My review is for the Lake Spokane campground and boat launch area, just East of the Long Lake Dam. There are four distinct areas of Riverside SP. To see the actual location, refer to Google Maps. A lot to like here, and it's all dry camping. But if you are used to metro area conveniences, be ready to drive 20+ mins, with Suncrest being the better option, vice Reardan or Wellpinit. It's a pretty drive, wherever you decide to go. Sites here are spaced nicely for semi-privacy; meaning, it's nice to have a quiet space, but it's also nice to see neighbors 30 yards away. A full camp is a safe camp this far out. If you have a travel trailer, don't get Site 4. It's set up is 'against the grain' for the 1-way road, and the only reason we made it in was because of our smaller RV. Big rigs? No way. They have these--I guess--decorative rocks to define each camp site. They're in the way, mostly. Otherwise, if you have booked online, it's plug and play. Riverside State Park is an amazing place to visit in Eastern Washington (near Spokane). The park has a great trail for walking, running, mountain biking or horseback riding. There is a very nice suspension bridge along the trail, and the trail is near a very scenic river. I highly recommend visiting this park. read more

This massive state park on the outskirts of Spokane is beautiful and worth a visit! If you have time to camp here, do it. If you bike, kayak, fish, motocross, hike, or just want to relax, this is a great place to do it. Centennial trail is within the park for bike riding too. The campground we stayed at was called Nine Mile Campground and it had partial hookups. Everyone had RVs here but I suppose you could tent camp. Nice waterfront and boat rentals available although the hours that there is someone there to help you are very limited. I suggest you reserve your camping spot online. If you are visiting for just the day, you'll have to pay for a discovery pass. read more

I live in the area, so although I haven't used the camping facilities, I do ride on horseback through this park a few times a week. The trails range from easy to difficult. If you run into a trail a bit to difficult for you or your horse, just take a different route. Riverside has a 25 mile trail that runs through the entire park, along with miles and miles and miles of trails that branch off from it.. Bikes, horses, hikers are all welcome, and they even have a separate off road vehicle (ORV) park. The bicyclist have all been great with approaching the horses, as we on horseback try to bump off the trail and give them room to pass by safely. This is not a park to miss. read more

Wow, only one other Yelp for this place---that's a crime. Riverside State Park is a jewel of the Lilac City. I mean it's just a right there close to town. There are tons of cool trails for hiking, running, biking, and dog walking. We parked at the Bowl & Pitcher parking area, and crossed the mighty Spokane on a rope bridge---very cool. There are also campgrounds, disc golf, regular golf, and even a sewage disposal facility----I kid about the latter---well, it is nearby, but you don't really notice it. This place made me wish I had a mountain bike so I could just rocket up and down the trails. As it was, my friend and our dogs had an awesome time here. read more

Wow! What a wonderful place to camp! We stayed in the Bowl and Pitcher lower campground, right next to the river. Our site was big, with a large landing pad for the RV - good thing since it was my first solo back up spot! Also good that it was quiet (weekday) so I didn't have spectators for the ol' back and forth and try, try again. There is a group camping area at the end, which is set apart from the rest of the camp sites. If it's empty, it is a fabulous place to sneak in a bit of off-leash romping for your dog. If you can avoid views of the water treatment plant, it feels like you're hundreds of miles from town instead of right in the middle of things. The only reason I'm docking it a point is the showers - the temperature kept going up and down (mostly down). Since you pay with tokens, you want to try to finish up your shower before you run out. So, there was some definite uncomfortable showering happening. Still, I'd definitely come back if I was in the area. read more

Now that we've been here for a few days we have found that things are even worse than what we thought in the beginning. There is a large problem with the rules not being enforced at all. There was a dog fight between large dogs because the leash laws were not enforced. When something was said to the people in charge they said they can only say something to the offenders one time or it's considered harassment. They would have to wait for the Ranger to come through and nobody has seen him yet. We couldn't even take our dogs outside to let them go to the bathroom because there were three huge dogs running around off leash. We finally went to take a shower and sound the facilities absolutely revolting. Not only were they filthy even to the point where there was mold growing around the caulking There was every kind of insect you could possibly think of. We had to choose between one that had Beatles your wigs spiders and ants or the ones that only had a bunch of spiders. There was no one around to ask to take care of these so we did it ourselves. I don't think I have ever showered so fast in my whole life. There really is nothing to do here unless you want to swim in the freezing water, unless you have a boat. Or go shopping in town. I can honestly say if I could give this place 0 stars I would . The positives are the camp host is extremely nice and the view is beautiful. read more

Gorgeous park for a hike, picnic and just wander around! You can bring your dogs on leash. Discovery pass is required. Feels like you are miles away from the city without actually living the city. The walks inside the forest is beautiful and the sounds from the river is peaceful. read more

This park is gorgeous. I just went to Bowl and Pitcher over the weekend and it was amazing. There are tons of places to explore, climb and relax. And if you are a geocacher... there are a ton in this park!! Check it out! read more

I am at the Bowl and Pitcher campground. It's great, bathrooms clean, staff friendly, people quiet, and the campsites are large enough to be comfortable with plenty of level spots for tents. There are only a normal amount of bees. I can hear the River all the time. It sounds so nice. I would definitely return. read more

I stayed at Riverside Nine Mile State Park - this place was really beautiful! It has a nice boat launch and if you get the lower spaces your practically next to the water. It has a full grass area, only water and electrical hook up (no sewer). Great fire pits next to the water and pretty secluded. I'll be back next year! read more

Spaces too close together and no barriers to separate camp sites. In fact, we are so close that we can hear our neighbor "pass gas" (a.k.a. Fart). So if you enjoy connubial camping and want to get up close and personal with your fellow campers you'll love thus park. It's a real gas. read more

We arrived at Bowl & Pitcher Campground around 8 PM on a Friday, not having a reservation and were able to get the last tent spot. It cost $27. The staff was pleasant. The bathroom was clean & from the time we arrived & smelled freshly cleaned by the time we got up in the morning. The CCC-style suspension bridge was pretty cool and we did a short easy hike before breaking camp and taken off. read more

Close to the city but some of the best trails in the area. Tons of easy parking, I prefer turning down seven mile road, just after the bridge there is a left turn, it says the road is closed and stuff but it leads to a parking lot with a ton of trails going every direction from it. Great start point for mountain biking, gotta watch for horses on the trails though. Can be as challenging or easy as you want. I go hear at least once a week to get a solid ride in without having to drive to the mountains. read more

On a recent trip to Spokane I had the opportunity to visit this wonderful park with my partner. What an amazing place so close to the city! Bowl and pitcher, the rapids, the basalt all made for amazing pictures and memories. The trails were iced in places, but it is winter and is to be expected. I am definitely going to make my partner bring me back here in the spring or summer! read more

TERRIBLE! Our family stayed at the Lake Spokane Campground over the Labor Day weekend. The first night was peaceful, but by the second day two 'party' groups moved into the sites next to us. The volume of noise produced by these groups and their jet boats was akin to a rock concert, except lacking rhythm and melody. We vacated the site, requested a refund, but were told the ranger would have to approve the refund. After waiting two weeks and no response from the ranger, I wrote an email to our state's parks department in Olympia. I was directed back to the local ranger station where I left another message requesting a refund. Still no response. Apparently, god himself (the ranger), is the only person on the planet with the authority to approve a refund. Not so coincidentally, he is also the person responsible for making sure campers follow campground rules. WHERE'S THE RANGER? After paying state taxes, $35 for a Discovery Pass, $70 for a seasonal launch pass, and over $100 in camping and parking fees, I would expect a staff capable of processing a simple refund! This park is great. Miles and miles of trails, bowl and pitcher is amazing. I have never brought anyone here who didn't fall in love. The bathrooms at the campground are nicer than some people's home bathroom. read more
