    Northside Pet Hospital - Reception

    Northside Pet Hospital

    (16 reviews)

For the past two years, we've chosen Northside Pet Hospital for our dog and cat's veterinary care,…read moreand we couldn't be happier. The entire staff, from the front desk to the veterinarians, is friendly and provides exceptional care, whether it's for routine checkups or urgent situations. We also find their prices to be reasonable for the area. Highly recommend!

I was a client of Northside Clinic for over six years and entrusted them with the care of my cat,…read moreAnnie. Annie passed away in 2024 at 20 years old due to old age. During the last three years of her life, I brought her in monthly for arthritis injections, paying approximately $150 at each appointment. I always paid my bills and never had any issues with the clinic. About six months after Annie passed, I adopted a kitten that was altered and later adopted a second kitten-Oscar- that was not altered. I brought both to Northside within days of getting them for their first exams and all went well. When Oscar needed to be neutered, I scheduled the procedure with Northside. Unfortunately, that experience changed my view of the clinic. On October 27, 2025, Northside sent me an email asking for my feedback. I submitted the following feedback, which is documented in Oscar's medical records: "I wasn't aware that full payment was due prior to the surgery. I normally have my wallet with me; however, while gathering Oscar's cage, which requires both hands, I forgot it. My boyfriend was driving because I had taken a migraine pill that morning. We had $300 cash with us, but the clinic insisted I call with a credit card and pay the remaining balance before they would perform the procedure. It was embarrassing. I have never failed to pay a bill with your clinic and have spent thousands of dollars there over the years. Upon picking Oscar up, I was told I had actually been overcharged by $104, meaning there was no need for the urgency or embarrassment in the first place. This situation could have been avoided if the payment requirement had been included in the intake forms or communicated when I scheduled the appointment. In fact, the $300 cash I had already provided more than covered the procedure. When Annie had surgery there years earlier, prepayment was not required. I don't know that I will be coming back." What disappoints me most is that this complaint was formally submitted and documented in my cat's medical records, yet no one from the clinic ever reached out to discuss it, apologize, or even acknowledge my concerns. After more than six years as a loyal client, that silence spoke volumes. The veterinarians provided good care to my pets, which is why I stayed for so many years. However, customer service matters too. Being treated as though I might not pay, despite a long history of promptly paying every bill, was embarrassing and unnecessary. The fact that my concerns were ignored afterward left me feeling that the clinic simply did not value the relationship we had built over the years.
