Whether you're skiing at nearby Gore Mountain or whitewater rafting on the Hudson, returning to a nice warm condo to relax with a cold beer is a huge comfort. When we have a big group for skiing, I always try to get the 4 bedroom units, but there are only 2 of them, so the earlier you book the better. They're not true 4BR because they are really 2 units with 3+1BR with an adjoining door and 2 entrances. The unit rental rate is pricey, but that's to be expected on a holiday weekend during ski season. On the plus side, you have 2 living rooms, 2 kitchens and 3 1/2 baths which makes a big difference when you're cooking dinner or trying to get everybody ready to go out to the slopes in the morning. Both units also have gas outdoor grills if you want to throw on some steaks after a long day on the slopes. Just be sure to put on all your ski gear if you're manning the grill and it's 0 degrees when the sun goes down. The office and clubhouse building is only a short walk away. Some of the individual units have WiFi if the owner is nice enough to have it installed, but it's available in the clubhouse if you really need it. There is also a swimming pool, foosball, billiards and table tennis. The office even sells discount lift tickets for Gore if you want to save a couple of bucks off the mountain price.

You could drive, but there is also a shuttle. The price for the two bedroom town house was not cheap, but the comfort factor made up for it. It has a full kitchen, with lots of dishes, cooking utensils , pots and pans. Even a blender! Anything you can dream of, with more than enough serveware which was nice. There's also a dishwasher which made life easier. Living, dining and kitchen were open concept, large dining table and a flat screen tv. Upstairs were two bedrooms , the master with ensuite and shared hot tub. I was surprised how clean the place was, everything was spotless and seemed like it was left just for us. No one bugged us for the three days we were there which was nice, but you could have requested a change of sheets, more towels if you wanted to. The office down the way, had a pool and maps and thing but we didn't use any of them. The only 2 complaints was that they couldn't give us the Wifi password and seemed to be only available in the office ( a huge downer for us roaming canadians) and for some reason we couldn't regulate the temperature consistently (either too hot or too cold) Otherwise the stay was really enjoyable, and couldn't have asked for more in accommodations. For those that dont feel like skiing, North Creek town about 5 mins away has a great bakery and antique shop!

Our son (13) had the weekend off from camp in the area so we seized the opportunity. We arrived early and were met with friendly confident guides who helped outfit us for a cool morning out on the river. They literally have any and all the gear you could possibly want or need. Booties for those who thought flip-flops were a good idea, Neoprene jackets for those of us who run cold, the mandatory helmets, life jackets in every size, waterproof baggies for the guy who could not release his phone for the day and literally everything.. We loaded up on to small school buses - save your jokes - and then off loaded at our entry point. There we were given an exceptionally thorough safety talk by Jay. This team obviously get all kinds of customers.. Then we were off on our 6.5hr adventure. Lunch was delicious and very appreciated as a vegetarian. The southwest wrap was really exceptional.. we are going to try and recreate it here at home. The peanut butter wrap was a huge hit with my son, he had three. Our guide Kevin, who was freelancing for the day, was great. He gave us a steady, but unobtrusive flow of information about the river and the area. We wish him well in his travels! Tips: Wear clothes that can get wet.. and dry quickly. Shoes should be more in the Keen/water shoe family than sneakers - for the love of Pete leave the flip-flops at home Sun Block! and bring some with you to replenish after lunch. The guides have waterproof bags that travel in the boat with you. Drink water along the way! The guides are carrying 10gallons with them .. take advantage of it. Leave your phone in the car - there is no service out there anyway - you can buy pictures at the end HAVE FUN!

The rooms were extremely comfortable and quaint. We enjoyed the common spaces that included a fire pit with a charcoal grill. There was a lovely outdoor structure with a stone fireplace and seating area that was being used by another couple. The lounge inside had a lot to offer and made us feel at home. If I'm Back in the Adirondacks I will be seeking out the other venues that the Weekender company has to offer.

The room was average definitely not worth 300 dollars a night. There is no view here so I wish we would've booked somewhere else for this price. You are right in town but a lot of things were closed for a festival they were having. Typically if a hotel charges this much they provide a view, breakfast, or something special. This was not the case. I was also charged 20 dollars over the original price. They don't answer the phones or majority of their emails. Very disappointing. If you can afford this place I highly recommend you go find a better location.

Five days before my arrival I was told, by a third party, that the Inn was no longer available to us. I was never contacted by the owner and had no idea what happened. Needless to say I was devastated by the lack of consideration and poor management. With the help of strangers and at great expense, we were able to find last minute accommodations for everyone. I have never been treated with such total disregard and disrespect by any business. Take my advice and do not trust this owner or establishment to be honest.

Anything I could want was there: bathroom supplies, towels, strong wifi, kitchenwares. There were even little details that took the experience above and beyond, like a list of fun activities in the area for the weekend we were there or a really seamless check in experience. Deer sightings and a night sky full of shooting stars were also unexpected treats. I really slept well in the comfortable bed and peaceful environment.
