I've been coming here for over 6 years but my dentist has left and now my last two hygienists have left. The work I've received has been good. I've had a couple hiccups with my Invisalign work but it all worked out in the end. The facilities are always clean and always plenty of parking. I'm just wondering why everyone's leaving this office. They are short staffed and I couldn't get a routine cleaning appointment until January 2023 on a cancellation (not by me) in early December. read more

After the horrible dental work I received when we lived in Apollo Beach from Dr. Feldman even one star is too much. He made me a three unit bridge in 2018. One of the teeth in that bridge had to be extracted and another needed a root canal. This took place this year and last year. With all the money I spent and the work only lasted five years is outrageous. That is okay as I might be visiting friends in Florida and I will personally confront the doctor in person. Also informing friends I made when we lived in Apollo Beach. I cannot believe allthe wonderful reviews he has received. I guess those who wrote them must have a low dental IQ. read more

I would recommend to NOT even bother spending your time in that place as my experience was a total disaster. Correct I am 100% sure other lucky folks have good experience and I respect that. Long story short back in February 2021 I had my first consultation with Riverview Smiles Dental and they recommended to have a root canal done from another office nearby, which I did 3 months later because of the other office lack of availability. After the procedure Riverview Smiles Dental never followed-up with me nor the recommendation office doctor who performed the procedure told me about the next step. Hence by end of October 2021 I notice the partial filling for that tooth is getting disappeared day after day and while I was eating normal food I feel some type of discomfort so I ran to Riverview Smiles Dental w/o an appointment since they were my primary dentist and explained the situation and they got me in within 2 days. However, that day of the appointment they made me wait for almost 1 hour before seeing me and I explained to the doctor what happened w.r.t I feel uncomfortable ONLY if I try to chew on the side of the tooth other than that there is no swelling, discomfort. I asked him for an immediate work around until we can put the crown. NOT only his attitude showed me he did NOT care as he said the ONLY alternative is to have that tooth extracted, which his referrals could take 3-4 weeks, but also stated we do NOT work with partially fractured tooth. Basically he told me if you can NOT chew on the side in which the tooth is located at so deal with it until it can be extracted. In addition to they brought me a bill of $10K where I would pay $5.5K out of my pocket for subsequent works (i.e add crowns on 3 teeth instead of 2 teeth from prior recommendation) because they are aware I am a software engineer and can afford it. I strongly believe this place is ALL about money and does NOT care about the wellness of his patients, which is sad. I arrived 10 mins prior to my appointment. Was called back 20 mins later. Lady took me back and took my X-rays, sat me in a room, and I waited over 30 mins for a doctor to come examine me. When she got there, Dr Maz or whatever-- she looked high. Or like she was sleepy. And didn't care. And not warm. Bedside manner was none existent. It's an hour and some change after I get there and she sees me for 2 mins with no willingness or regret about how long I waited. I was literally about to walk out when she walked in--that's how long I waited. I was and still am in discomfort and that's the only reason I went through with the shit. I never received a treatment plan. No one has called me back. It's been 4 days. I'm CERTAIN I'll get a bill about the X-rays but I wouldn't feel comfortable getting the work done here. I do not recommend. I'm new to the area and trying to find a good dental practice. It took three months to get an appt. here, the dentist was rude from the start, and more interested in upselling dental services rather than focusing on a severe abscess that was found during my first visit. For this, I was referred to a specialist for a root canal and I explained I couldn't make the appt. right away. My appt. with the specialist is within two weeks from my appt. with this practice and in this short time the infection has advanced significantly causing extreme pain. I've asked for antibiotics twice (once in a voice mail and once in online chat because they don't answer the phone) since my visit two weeks ago. My request hasn't been filled. I should have never left their office without an antibiotic prescription to begin with. I will not be returning to this practice for any further services. read more

I have been looking for a dental office where I could feel comfortable and trust the staff and doctors ever since I moved to Florida. I have lived in 2 other states and never went through the things I have In Florida. This office was recommended to me so I stopped by one day to see about making an appointment for X-rays and a cleaning. I was told that they do not do both things in one appointment. I would have to come in for the X-rays and exam first, then return another day for the cleaning. What? Never ran into this before. That should have been a red flag. I should say I am retired, on a fixed income with no dental coverage which I told them up front. So I made the appointment in spite of my being uncomfortable about 2 appointments. (I managed medical practices for a living so I know games that can be played) I arrived for my X-rays and must say everyone was very nice. I liked the hygienist a lot (don't remember her name) and I was feeling comfortable. She asked if I ever had a cancer screening for my mouth and told her the last dentist checked my mouth a year ago. She then pointed to a sign on the wall about a screening they do, extra $$$$ of course. I said no. She checked my gums and I was actually happy that my numbers were better then they had been a year ago so thought I was doing something right. Then she said I would need a deep cleaning on some of my back teeth, not all my teeth. The doctor came in, looked at the computer screen, no cavities, then started suggesting a bridge where I lost a tooth, or an implant. I said no. Then it came to removing a crown and replacing it with a new one because I said heat sometimes bothers me there. Hmmm $$$$, but no cavity. Now I'm uncomfortable. Another person came in with a write up of what a deep cleaning and a crown would cost. Well by the time she got done telling me how much everything would cost the bill would be $3597.00. I wanted to cry, no coverage remember. i left in shock with an appointment in 10 days. I called a few days later and said I just want a regular cleaning. Nothing else. I was told she would have to talk to the hygienist and would get back to me. What? I missed the call when she called back but I phoned her right back. I was told she was busy on another call and she would call me back. That never happened. A few days after that someone called to confirm my appointment for the deep cleaning. What? Do these people talk with each other? I cancelled. I really wanted to like and trust this place. It's a beautiful new building with new equipment. This place was absolutely the worst dental office I have ever had the misfortune to experience. I waited two months for my son's intitial appointment. I filled the new patient form out online but they said they never received it. Then they handed me 5 pages to fill out when I got there. When I handed them to the receptionist she informed me that they didnt take my type of insurance and I could pay out of pocket. This was in the afternoon, after she called me hours earlier that day to get my insurance information. Very unprofessional and a waste of my time. I had a difficult time living in the Gainesville area for almost 29 years finding a great dentist and not a money hungry one and one that does shoody work. I have friends that are dentists and hygienists and frankly have been always freaked out in that chair! I LOVE this office and staff and hygienists and this doctor (s) . They are caring and listen! I hadn't been to the dentist In approx 6yrs. I was very nervous and anxious to say the very least. I was referred to Dr. Tristan Hensley. So I went in and he made me feel very comfortable. He is kind and very smart. Everyone was very friendly and it's a very clean and nice office. The experience I had at this office was exceptional! Dr. Hensley was very thorough in explaining what I needed to do to avoid any further damage to my teeth. I had a cavity and a chipped tooth. Other then that all looked well. Filling the cavity was the easiest I've ever experienced. I would definitely recommend this office. read more

I am 67 years old and have been to many dentists in several states, and must say Dr. Feldman is the most gentle and painless dentist ever. Have had several crowns that were always sore and painful for days afterwords, however the crown Dr. Feldman just applied did not even have a twinge or even any evidence that an injection or work had been done. He is extremely professional, and appears to be meticulous in his work. He seems to be very knowledgeable about a condition I have and the medications that am taking are damaging the teeth. With this understanding he has developed a treatment plan that includes repair of currently damaged teeth, and interventions to help control and prevent further damage. Bottom line am extremely pleased with the treatment received by Dr. Adam Feldman, and give him the highest of recommendations. read more

With a badly fractured tooth that kept me up for days and unable to eat, I made it to this office only to be told that I needed to see an oral surgeon. Fine. I get it, but the "best" they could do was get me in about 24 hours later and when I asked what to do, literally holding back waterworks, I wasn't even given antibiotics. I called the same oral surgeon minutes later, who actually took his job seriously and saw me within the hour. If this was the "best" that Riverview Smiles can do, that's pathetic. Most of us have dealt with a dental crisis and it should be treated by professionals as such. Dr and hygienist are great but the billing staff!!! OMG!!! When I first started my invisalign treatment I let the dentist know that I already tried smile direct club and that it didn't work. Dentist assured me they knew what they were doing and we agreed I would pay half up front and pay the balance once my teeth were straight. Now today I went to get more trays as I am finished with the trays provided and my teeth are not straight on the bottom. No problem, but as I was leaving they tried to get me to pay the balance eventhough I still am not finished. They said they don't have any record of my agreement. They also threatened me with reporting me to the credit bureau if I failed to pay. What a terrible staff. Thinking everyone is out to stick them with a bill. I wonder if my extra melanin had anything to do with this. Needless to say I'm never going back there after my treatment is done. The Dentist was great to interact with, but that is the only positive experience in my dealings with this company. They do not respect patient request for pricing things in accordance with what the patient wants. They charge you for things without prior authorization from the patient......preventive has no co-pay with my insurance.....but they charged me for a treatment, started as a flouride treatment until i questioned the fact that I had no treatment and then became a cancer screening.....once again no discussion about cost prior to the "treatment". Had no concern whatsoever, but was quick to say they would de-activate me once they had my money. I just moved down to Florida so I was looking for a new dentist. I booked my first appointment for a cleaning today and took off work so I can make it before the end of the year. I come in and they tell me that I'm not actually getting the cleaning today , just X-rays because they don't schedule enough time on your first visit to do both. But that was never told to me and when Erika told me she didn't even care. She didn't care about my insurance issues. She just said that's how they do it and didn't care about my problems. firstly, making someone come back because you are trying to fit as many people into a day is disguising and money hungry. Secondly, if someone explained this to me when I made the appointment I would have never came. I like going places where people actually care about their patients not just the patients money. I'm new to the area and was looking for a new dentist that was local and offered Friday apt for both exam and cleaning the same day. Back in Jan when I made the apt, the receptionist Elianna told me the soonest Friday apt was the end of Feb but the exam and x-ray was not available back to back that day so I would need to do the exam in the morning and come back in the afternoon for the cleaning. Since I didn't want to push my cleaning further out, I decided to schedule. When I arrived the morning for my first apt, I was told I only had one apt in the afternoon but that they could do both the exam and x-ray together. I was disappointed the morning of my day off was waisted but just happy they assured they could do both the exam and x-ray together later in the afternoon. After my exam I was told I had deep gum pockets and they recommended a deep cleaning for an extra cost in addition to needing a crown due to a cavity they found in a tooth that already had a filing. I was given a total cost after insurance applied of almost $1500. I explained I only wanted the normal cleaning I get every 6 months that's covered by my insurance and that I would address the crown at a later date since I had not noticed any discomfort. Riverview Smiles Dental refused to give me my regular teeth cleaning so I decided to go elsewhere. I contacted another Dental Group and they were able to get me in the following week for an exam and x-ray. I am so glad I decided to go elsewhere because the new exam didn't show I had any serious deep gum pockets, no cavity and no need to replace the tooth with a crown. If you're coming here for your first time, don't. Brenda, at the reception desk has no patience for new patients and it has to be the most annoyingly overwhelming experience I've ever had. I've been looking to get a new dentist since I've moved to the area and needless to say, it won't be this one. I get there on time for my appointment which is blocked out for 2 hours and she starts off by giving me all of my paperwork to fill out (okay, no problem) and tells me that I will be seeing the dentist with no insurance (no... I have insurance which I specified to you when I made the appointment), then she hands me all of my paperwork and I go sit down to begin filling everything out as well as try to figure out my insurance information because she didn't have the information. As I finished my paperwork I begun trying to get everything from MetLife and she starts to rush me. I get it... you have patients and I have an appointment. But I'm a new patient and I have insurance. I don't want to be rushed through my first time being at your office. Give me a break, sheesh. Just moved to the area, and stopped in this office to see if I could establish my families dental care. It is a beautiful office, so I went in. I had to stand there for several minutes before anyone said hello to me. A woman began to assist me with my needs. She was inexperienced, but that did not bother me. Another woman came over and declared that I did not have the proper insurance card, with the necessary information. The first woman that helped me wrote on a sticky note of what I needed to provide. When I got home, I looked at the note and my insurance card. The card had every bit of the required information! I was very put off by this other woman's know it all attitude. OK I have been to this dentist office 3 times and each time I feel more comfortable and at ease with Dr. Triston Hensley. The first time I went was the first time I had been to the dentist in 10 years. He did several major filling with no pain and made me feel completely comfortable the whole time. I will not go to any other dentist and if I was going to recommend a dentist to anyone it would definitely need this particular brand new dentist in Riverview and it would be dr.
