I have been a member of the RAC since it opened. I utilize all areas of the gym, the pool, the free weights, the classes, and the locker rooms - all are well-maintained, modern, and (most importantly) CLEAN! The front desk staff are always friendly and willing to answer questions. When they aren't busy with desk responsibilities, they take the time to wipe down the equipment and tidy up. Locker rooms are always spotless...and they stand far above traditional gym locker rooms in their quality, aesthetics, and amenities (and I've seen my share of gym locker rooms!). Showers, restrooms, and floors are ALWAYS clean. The classes are run by instructors who are engaging and passionate. The atmosphere is one in which women can feel comfortable working out among men, this quality in a gym is not the case in many of the other gyms in the area. While it is a little more expensive than some other area gyms, the benefits make it more than worth the cost. And, finally, on the RARE occasion when there has been an issue with billing or equipment that was on the fritz, Kristina and Laura have always been responsive, willing to listen, and helpful. read more

I absolutely loved having access to this facility when visiting family in the Binghamton area. I stayed at a nearby hotel and went every morning using a day pass they offer. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the facility very clean! I didn't feel out of place (as is sometimes the case when traveling and the locals stare or make me uncomfortable). The equipment I used was all in great condition, newer very nice machines! Overall, exceptional experience here at the Riverwalk! Would absolutely recommend and will return in the future when in the area. read more

It's rarely crowded, the staff isn't overbearing and the exercise equipment areas are always clean.

In the last month, 4 different men, have been in the women's changing/ locker room. This isn't acceptable at all. It isn't safe for the women members but also, your running a hotel and children use those changing rooms as well. Please keep the men out of the women's only areas!! read more

Pics are over ten years old .Seems like they would be updated, Totally new staff all original staff has left its now more of a hotel staff gym with little knowledge of training or proper lifting. You can pay extra for personal training. Equipment is new but a cheaper brand. Lift at your own risk nobody will help with spot most people there have ear buds in not vary friendly. This gym does not care about the safety or well being of the women who work out here. I brought concerns to management about a man who works out there who made me feel incredibly unsafe on multiple occasions. My friend, as well as one of their own staff members also had a similar experience and reported him as well. They did absolutely nothing. I have been to many gyms in my lifetime as I am an avid weightlifter and power lifter and never have I felt as unsafe as I was made to feel at this gym. There are many other good gyms in the area that are actually concerned about the safety and well-being of their members. I would recommend going somewhere else. read more

Full gym with yoga, zumba pilates classes. Friendly staff. Big parking lot which is shared with the Binghamton Riverwalk Hotel and Conference Center. The gym has separate locker rooms with separate saunas. It also has an olympic-size pool to do laps and aquatics classes. There is also a masseuse who is on call. My only regret is that I am not staying long enough to sample all that they have to offer. If you stay at the hotel, you can use the facilities for free. :-) read more

The staff is super nice and helpful! My friend and I wanted to start at a nice and quiet gym that was friendly! This is the place if you are looking! Wow. Jason S sounds disgruntled. First of all, I work in healthcare, puke disperses in water, it doesn't sink. Laws of physics. And anyone knowing anything about public pools knows there's always a little pee. It's a public pool. I have had nothing but good experiences with everyone there. Chill and easygoing, seems to be mostly populated by the 40+ crowd when I go, never too crowded. I've never had to wait for any equipment except for the one rowing machine. Not an issue. The locker rooms (and most of the fitness center) are new due to the major flood in the fall. Some of the machines have a USB port to take down your workout info, I don't know why everyone doesn't do this. They also have TVs on most ellipticals... They're easy to turn off, that's all I know. The music tends to be normal gym music, but usually not so loud that I hear it over my iPod. The staff is quite friendly. I've never asked them a question, so I don't know how knowledgable they are, but they seem competent. Okay, so I've only ever been a member of my university's gym before this (and the JCC) so I don't have much to compare to, but I like it. It's a place to exercise. And there's no purple and yellow staring at you all the time, so there's a bonus. Note: I tend to go during weekday mornings, so it may be different at night/weekends. Also, I've been a member now three months. This is the place that was recommended to me by friends who work out way more than I do and I can see why. read more

I had never been to this gym before and I got there at 10pm. I told the receptionist that I had never been here before so I wanted to try out the gym for free for one night keep in mind this was less than an hour. The receptionist did not allow this to happen. The thing is I even called the gym before so I could check if this problem would occur and nobody picked up. Every gym I have been to in the past has at least let me tried the gym for one day free, some even more days. The receptionist was not the problem, it's the management. Friends have told me that they have let people in for free just to try the gym before signing up. Charging me 10 dollars for less than an hour of gym time is kind of ridiculous. read more

I've been a member of this gym for a few years now and I love it. It's clean and modern. I never have a problem getting a machine. My only wish would be that they have earlier classes. Especially, Aqua Cardio and Zumba classes. read more

The Riverwalk has been my gym for almost 5 years. I go there at least 5 days a week for classes. The instructors I have for water aerobics, yoga and zumba are the best. The facility is immaculate. Kristina and her staff couldn't be more helpful. If you want a great gym I highly recommend the Riverwalk. I would never think of changing. read more

Modern workout place, very clean, plenty of parking, friendly staff, nice workout area and equipment, towel service, salt water pool, excellent whirlpool, outdoor tanning area, lounge tables and chairs at the pool, open 7 days a week and holidays, $10/week trial membership, all 5 star advantages. Sadly the locker room is too tiny with half lockers and no full length ones, small amount of lockers, steam room broken the whole week I was there, room for only 4 people to sit on a bench while changing using the locker room, pool not Olympic size, only 2 lanes for lap swimming with a 30 minute time limit, children permitted at all times, and no pool lifeguard are serious deficiencies that ruin an otherwise nice facility. read more

My vehicle was severely damaged in the lot of this facility, and I was offered no help after being bounced around between the hotel and the athletic club. After I had to call back because no one returned my call at the hotel, I was informed that there is no exterior security and that the cameras you see are "dummies". I was only offered no sympathy by a manager who was condescending at the hotel. It was made clear that my business was not valued as they had no problem with me cancelling my membership. The facility is small and increasingly over crowded. I'd highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. read more

I love RAC I was a member there for over a year but due to financial setbacks I had to relinquish my membership. Everyone is friendly there is a mixed crowd of very helpful individuals. I can not wait until I am able to return. Great place read more

It's ok if you are just going solo. If you have children, beware; their day care only hold 8 children tops, so now and then you are turned away and can't work out. Staff is so so and generally not too bad, but not very customer service oriented or willing to go the extra mile in any way. Take a look at other facilities unless you live close by and have limited options. read more
