All of the teachers are so knowledgeable about the body and alignment they and genuinely care. The pilates classes work miracles for back pain and other body aches and pains that start up after age 50. There is a variety of classes which is really nice depending on your mood and what you feel up to accomplishing physically. This is a top-notch studio and if you are looking to get stronger in a safe and productive way, this is it. Plus everyone is so nice. Five stars. Highly recommend.

This space is warm and welcoming and all the instructors have been wonderful while also being completely unique in their focus and delivery. I started January with the unlimited membership (which I highly recommend) so I've taken Facial Refresh, Core XIIT, Pilates (mat) and TRX classes. Each class and each instructor has something different to offer, and with the small class sizes you feel like a part of the community immediately. From week to week the instructors remember specific injuries (to recommend modifications), goals and other pieces that are so important to substantial growth in strength and stamina. The online system is very easy to use to sign up for classes and the cancellation policy is extremely fair. Being right in the heart of Fall Creek with ample parking, the commute there is never a problem. In addition, the class times are perfect for my schedule and they have so many various classes to offer, it's so much more than just Pilates! Finally, they even have online classes if you can't make it in-person on a specific day, which I have also used and found to be extremely beneficial. I really can't recommend Vellidan enough. As a mom of two young children, this was the reminder I needed that feeling strong doesn't need to mean high intensity workouts with guaranteed injuries. Pilates is highly focused core work that is low intensity with a laser focus on correct form rather than overexertion. In just one month I already feel stronger and can feel my balance and core strength improving significantly. Thanks to Tori and the wonderful and knowledgeable instructors at Vellidan for providing such an important service to the downtown area!

After seeing some bungee fitness videos on TikTok, I looked for a place near me to try it out, and…read morefound Riot! It's not actually that near to me, so I drove a ways out to get here. It is a little confusing where you're supposed to enter, but it's in the back of a church and the entrance is in the back. When I first arrived-- about 10 mins early-- the door was locked. I waited awhile and some other people showed up and started going in. I appreciated as a first-time participant that I was just invited to join right in, that there wasn't a huge fuss made over me or my safety. I was strapped into the bungee and invited to try it out to get the hang of it. The class was fun and challenging, but doable. It was a great workout and I really enjoyed it. But while I didn't want to be the center of attention as a newcomer, I would have liked some more guidance along the way. Instead, it was very clear that the other class attendees knew each other, and the instructor, very well. It felt a little exclusive and hard to join. The instructor didn't speak to me from the time I got into the harness until the class was over. I felt like I was intruding on a close community. That's the only reason my review is four, not five stars. If it had felt more welcoming, I'd be eager to go back, but as is, the drive is too long to go back for such a cold environment. Still, I do wish there was something like this much closer to me!

Overall, I liked the studio and found the class times to be convenient for my schedule. The instructors were great about showing modifications, both easier and more challenging, which I found productive to my own progress. Instructors were really great about answering questions after class (e.g., pigeon pose always cuts off my leg circulation for some reason, despite being hyperflexible, and they helped me find an alternative). I really wanted to love this place, but the main reason I did not go back is because most of their classes are hot yoga, which I really don't like. Personally, the heat does nothing for me besides drench my clothes ~completely~ in sweat (required a towel on my fabric car seats!) and, frankly, has no science to prove any benefits anyway. Plus, in addition to being annoying, it is also a hazard. I tried a lot of things to make the experience less slippery on my mat and nothing seemed to work. I just didn't think it was worth the struggle of trying not to slip and fall in basic poses, which I would not have to waste my time thinking about (and ultimately distracting me from the meditative experience) in a normal class. I also took an aerial yoga class, which was fun to try, but I personally found it pretty uncomfortable (cutting off circulation, digging into my legs despite being pretty thin figured). Just wasn't for me. If you don't mind hot yoga, you'll probably love this place. But if you do, you should choose a different studio (which is honestly hard to find in this area, as many places are hot yoga only).

This kind of behavior is simply not acceptable in any establishment, especially one focused on well-being like a yoga studio.
