There is a massive selection of things to eat. The scrambled eggs were real scrambled eggs, not the industrial ones of motel buffets. One day, they had these triangular potato cake things that were many steps above your average hash browns. You can throw together a breakfast burrito. There is cheese, salsa and tortillas on hand. My GF and I were greated by staff and offered complementary coffee. Made small talk with the staff and SISSY asked if we had ever visited their ROOF TOP BAR. We had not and SISSY took us on a tour to the rooftop. The view from rooftop bar was beautiful and we will definitely return when the weather warms up. First the positives: The lobby and coffee shop are decorated in a fun, quirky way which creates a casual and relaxing environment. I've heard the decor described as being from a Wes Anderson movie. (I think that is an accurate description.) We would have our morning coffee over there relaxing on the comfy couches/chairs and had a surprisingly good breakfast burrito at the coffee shop. Location was good. Close to downtown, easy 10 minute walk to most things, and it was close to the North Oconee River Greenway walking trail on the other side of the river. Our room (on the second floor) was comfortable, clean, well appointed and quiet. The quietness may be due to the fact that we were possibly one of only two or three customers in the hotel those nights. Nonetheless, we slept well and have no complaints about the room. Now for some minor negatives: Staff, which comprised mostly college students, were less than friendly or attentive. At check-in, important information was not disclosed, like the optional housekeeping service, or that the restaurant/bar was not open (at all) during our stay. The $12 per day parking fee was excessive in my opinion. We were the only car in this lot - I feel like they could've waived the parking fee. And the $75 dog fee was a bit steep - but the room rate was low, so I guess it balanced out. We had to call for towels (and to replace a broken soap dispenser) repeatedly before someone finally showed up around 7 pm - I think they didn't have anyone working.... Anyhow - would I stay at this hotel again? Yes. My girlfriend probably wouldn't however. I think had it been warmer and had the Foundry been open, we probably would have had a better experience there. But, it is significantly cheaper that other hotels I looked at, and, frankly, you have to take that into consideration.

Eggs, sausage, toast, waffles, bagels, fruit, etc. My only complaint was I wish they had toppings for the oatmeal like they did for the waffles. The online reservation must have switched when I changed payment to the points. In any event, the front desk said I only had one night booked, but the amount of points I purchased to cover the second night of my reservation cost more than the cost of a night here. Even writing this review is a TOTAL waste of my time. They stole my points, refused to refund my card the $250.00 so I could simply pay for the $195.00 cost of the room. All my points were stolen, including the new ones I purchased AND they chopped one night of my reservation. The front desk had their hands tied by lousy Corporate policies, so the blame for this debacle rests solely on Marriott Corporate Office. I WILL NEVER STAY AT A MARRIOTT AGAIN! The shower needed some work done to it, and the bathroom floor doesn't appear to have been cleaned. The beds were comfy. There isn't enough light in the room. More lighting should be added. Breakfast was not the best. They did have turkey sausage, which was great for non pork eaters. It was the same items every day and not many choices. Biscuits, sausage, eggs, cereal, and muffins were some of the items. The elevators kept getting stuck on the floors, and you had to push the floor button to make the doors open. It even skipped floors that were chosen a few times. The hotel was not bad, not amazing, but you get what you pay for.
