I love the chips here and salsa is one of best around. Had the Pollo Bandit tonight which was quite tasty. Waiter was a little slow coming to take our order but the food was really fast coming out. As normal the noise was a touch loud but seating in a booth helped to lessen the noise. read more

The Maria's Special is one of the best offerings on their menu. I have had it with shrimp and with chicken and both are very very good.

The food at this location is amazing! The cooks must be working hard. All of the employees are kind and respectful. I've never been to a restaurant with more attentive staff. You can tell they truly care about their clients, especially the regulars. The music isn't too loud and the other guests are always respectful concerning noise. Overall, dining at Riviera is a wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone and have recommended. They even cater! When the food is catered, the service, quality, and quantity doesn't fall short of the in-person experience. After the monotonous bowling excursion to the local family entertainment center, I needed a nice, quiet, comfortable atmosphere to realign my cognitive chakras - this was the perfect place. On this initial visit, I opted for the authentically named, Burrito Indiana. It was a foot-long steak burrito with rice, beans, and veggies, smothered in white cheese sauce. It was a ton of food for $10. The entire family of four ate for $40, and we all took leftovers home for dinner. The waitress was very attentive and polite. The atmosphere was quiet, featured mexican-styled graffiti and paintings, and had these really interesting faux mini-balconies along the top of the wall. The chairs were carved animals, fruits, and nature scenes - all extremely colorful, collectively working to establish the fun and colorful atmosphere. I saw several offerings on the menu I plan on trying in future return visits. A definite must visit on your next trip to downtown Newburgh. read more

Still decked out for Christmas with a classy simple tree, Riviera is a quick Mexican meal. There is usually no wait for a table yet the restaurant is always busy. The servers are prompt and the kitchen is fast. I had the vegetarian special and it was exactly what I expected. They also have margaritas on special Friday nights! read more

I usually sticK to the same old menu items ground beef burritos because ive got steak tacos at other restaurants and the steak was just rubber! Not here!!! The service was great! I ordered Vegetarian Meal E, with a potato burrito, guacamole, and a Corona beer with a lime. The restaurant serves chips and good salsa while the main course is being prepared for the customer. The guacamole was good, but not chunky like people might expect from a lot of restaurants. The vegetarian plate was good quality with a good amount of food. read more

Visiting the relatives in IN we came here for dinner. We were immediately seated and waited on. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, however, if you looked closely you can tell that the place could use a bit of upkeep. Food was ok and I left full and happy. read more

Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had and the portions are huge!! I spent $12 on an entree and get two meals out of it. We just moved to the area and this will certainly be our go to spot for Mexican food. Service was also great!! We frequent this restaurant, as my husband is a Mexican food fan (he goes there a lot more than I do), and it's close by our home and reasonably priced. The food is also always really good. I've had a number of things on the menu here, and everything I have had has always been well cooked, well seasoned, tasty, and generously portioned. My favorite is the enchiladas verdes with chicken. The arroz con pollo is also very good, as are the flautas. The staff here is also very pleasant, very accommodating, and always recognizes our group when we come in. We always enjoy eating here and will continue to return often. They're stuck with us! :) read more

Never again. Ordered carry out and was told 20 minutes. Nearly an hour later and after watching a table of 6 get seated 10 minutes after I arrived and got their food before I got mine. I understand being busy, but this is beyond ridiculous. I mentioned it was an hour and got a "sorry." Really? There are a lot of other restaurants with much better customer service that I would rather patronize in the future. Hate to put down a local business, but get it together. read more

If I could rate this a negative amount of stars, I would. Let me start by saying they had only one waiter on duty with at least 8 tables occupied. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes before getting waited on. The complementary chips and salsa had a hair in it. We ordered queso for the chips which did not come out until our food did. My husband ordered a fajita which was burnt and I ordered the quesadilla fajita which was very soggy. Overall, I would not come here again and I strongly suggest you don't either. read more

This place, like pretty much every restaurant in the greater Evansville area, is completely mediocre. There is nothing special about it, the food is bland. Let's keep this simple. Very good standard Mexican food. Chips and salsa were great. By the way, ask for the salsa verde or green salsa. It is flat out amazing. The hot salsa also available upon request is delicious too. I got the pollo playa, also known as chicken on the beach. Rice, grilled chicken, white queso. Done. Add some salsa verde, mix, roll up into a tortilla and eat. Repeat. Dinner portion was huge. Chimichanga was large and in charge. Kids chicken tenders were standard fare. This quaint restaurant ranks 5 stars in my book. Prepare to be impressed with the true Mexican spicy cuisine, not plain "baby food" generic taste like Hacienda. First time trying this Mexican restaurant. I had heard both good and not so good things about this restaurant, so I thought I'd try it out. The best part was my wife and I getting 2 meals w/ drinks for under $15.. That's is extremely hard to do in evansville! The food itself was average if not a slightly below average tasting. I has the polo playa "chicken on the beach". The chicken was decent but I was not a huge fan of their Mexican rice. It had peas, carrots, and corn in it. Not a great combination for me.. The food in general was kinda just blan. My wife and I both agreed that there was very little seasoning in it. We had two different waters serving us. One of them extremely nice and helpful. While the younger guy was not that friendly and seemed not to care if we were there or not. Over all the reason I give this restaurant a 2 star is because there was nothing outstanding about this place. I wouldn't rule out going again it just wouldn't be anytime soon. read more

Love this place! Have been a few times and always a great experience! The price is wonderful for all the food you get. Had margarita that was the special of the night usually they aren't strong at most places but this one was delivered a punch. The staff is very attentive and friendly. read more
