The staff were super friendly and actually anxious for the rush. Parking was ample with just a touch of traffic building as the morning wore on. There were so many sales that I didn't know where to start. But I picked up several web cams for monitoring the inside and outside of the house, 500 rounds of bulk .22lr and 200 rounds of JHP 9mm that was similar in price to C-A-L Ranch bulk ammo. All in, I spent a few hundred dollars but left with merch and ammo worth much more. And the staff were really nice and helpful. I look out for their one day sales by subscribing to their site and have picked up everything from gun lockers to first aid kits at prices that I thought were pretty good. I come here often for the odd sporting goods gear, from ping pong paddles and balls to pickleball gear to fishing poles and Powerbait. I always feel welcome and never pressured or rushed to buy anything. Just like BHC, there's no pressure, no rush, but you feel always welcomed...

A lot of associates standing around talking about unrelated work stuff but the shoe dept girl was very helpful and my husband got the shoes he wanted. During his checkout, I asked the head girl standing around talking if I could use the bathroom before we left and she replied that they did not supply restrooms for the guests, only employees. Well, I can tell you, that alone will cause me never to shop at a Big 5 again. We will get our tennis shoes anywhere else.

Many of my Yelp reviews can be quite snarky, as I tell it like it is, and if it blows, I'll share…read morethis fact. However, my recent service experience has me feeling good about River Rat, with regard to their service dept. I asked for a verbal quote for fork seals- got it. Returned about a week later, with a printed request for Estimate, adding on some basic fluid replacements, to bring my 21 YO Honda up to speed. The PRINTED LINE ITEM QUOTE I received is what well-run shops provide. I've used clowns in the past (I have owned 13 metric bikes over 40 years, in several states...) that won't provide any type of legible estimate, most were verbal...and too much mystery for me to feel confident is a shop's ability, when scribbled yellow legal pad cryptography is all I might have to go on... Conclusion: River Rat treated me well, their LEGIBLE Estimate helps the consumer understand the costs, etc. Dave ran the front svc desk well, and I was overall very satisfied with the work they did for me on my first visit to DR. They were by far the most PRO shop out of about 4 other local jokers I either contacted, or worked with in the past...

I have mixed feelings writing this review…read more They have been officially bought out by a havasu boat dealer and are closing their doors forever, owners sold out and are going to retire. I just purchased a Bentley tri-toon from them and they were not transparent at all that it was closing. You see, some people purchase a boat anticipating growing a relationship with there dealer for parts, service, warranty work etc. And had I known they were selling out, well perhaps the deal might have gone differently given those circumstances. Their reputation and tenure in the community were a massive factor in handing over a large sum of money for a boat, coupled with the fact that they were local. Its all just semantics now, because they are gone. Midnight move out is a better term. Oh well I guess, lesson learned. My sales guy was good, but I'm sure he couldn't say anything about it, and he along with a few other of the staff are going to the new location, so its understandable, sorta. Not the best business model perhaps, take the money and close the door.

It's always the destination!…read more Live to ride, Ride to live! These are words that my husband lived and eventually died by. While I don't share his courage to ride every day, of every moment an occasional "ride" is something like no other feeling on the planet. Have you ever rode? Then you have no idea. If you have rode, then you know how special riding your motorcycle can be. The worst thing to have happen is your bike to have an issue while your riding. What the thrill of speed is? When you figure it out. Yess!! I'm not alone! Always ride on long road trips with someone. You never know what might happen on a longer ride. Case in point, my motorcycle left me and now what do I do? Make sure that your riding mate has knowledge of the how to do some of their own wrench work. Put that time in behind the wrench, so that when "something" goes wrong you can at least make it to town. If the Harley is hot; then over heats your not going anywhere. On this ride from Vegas to Havasu the Harley decided to get heated and have a melt down. It got hot and was not throttling well enough. Sputtering out. We pulled off the highway and took a break, figuring out where your at. Luckily, Lake Havasu, is a great town that had this place to aid us. They offer towing, but it comes at a cost. We were able to get the bike here, they offered towing. We declined this service: While on the phone with the business the employees were super friendly and truly resourceful. Coming in on a wing and a prayer, we pulled up. It's good to know the mechanics here are knowledgeable about all types of bikes. We were greeted with happy faces ready to assist us. Having communicated over the phone before reaching the store all we had to do was mention the issue we were experiencing and we were golden. The mechanics assisted us in looking at the bike. The mechanic that came out was stunned to see that we were each riding our own bike. I added, " All the way from Vegas, baby!" After tinkering with that here, adjusting this over their the bike was not keeping proper oil pressure. Happy ride! They had just want we needed. Parts, trinkets for the bike or your ride, fluids, tires; what else do you need. They sell a great selection of brands to make the bike road worthy and happy. A turn here, crank that, some fluids, it never hurts with extra fluid, and one more adjustment. It's time to try her out. Pushing the button and cranking the throttle she started right up. The pressure is holding steady. The heat has backed off and she's only "Harley Hot," which let's go and keep on with the ride !! "Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Ride and live today." We mount up, wave goodbye to the new motorcycle friends we met and back across the river. We know where to stop if anything ever goes wrong with one of our bikes on the road this way again. The company is COVID complete and compliant following all the measures of safety for its employees and customers. The mechanics where masks while speaking directly too the customer, but keep their distance while interacting with you. We all want to the safe and healthy nowadays. Thank you for all your service. You exceeded all of our expectations and beyond.
