I came here for a black Friday sale and the prices were great. I was fortunate that I came early and the crowds weren't there yet. The staff were super friendly and actually anxious for the rush. Parking was ample with just a touch of traffic building as the morning wore on. There were so many sales that I didn't know where to start. But I picked up several web cams for monitoring the inside and outside of the house, 500 rounds of bulk .22lr and 200 rounds of JHP 9mm that was similar in price to C-A-L Ranch bulk ammo. All in, I spent a few hundred dollars but left with merch and ammo worth much more. And the staff were really nice and helpful. I look out for their one day sales by subscribing to their site and have picked up everything from gun lockers to first aid kits at prices that I thought were pretty good. I come here often for the odd sporting goods gear, from ping pong paddles and balls to pickleball gear to fishing poles and Powerbait. The Bullhead City, Az Big 5 was clean and well stocked except for Women's shoes. Not much of a selection like the Men's. Weird. A lot of associates standing around talking about unrelated work stuff but the shoe dept girl was very helpful and my husband got the shoes he wanted. During his checkout, I asked the head girl standing around talking if I could use the bathroom before we left and she replied that they did not supply restrooms for the guests, only employees. Went to Big 5 for mountain bike parts. They carry just basic biking items (helmets, tires, locks) . This place is so crowded with product you can barely walk. They don't carry pedal stir-up's. Unfortunately they did not have any at that time however, they got into contact with their Havasu store and the Havasu store is hand delivering them and should be ready for pick up later today. After yesterday's visit, I am compelled to rate Big 5 with 5 stars. They always have interesting sports items on sale, and it is probably the best place to buy shoes, esp. athletic, in BHC. (Kohl's also carries a good range of brand name shoes..). Today I had 2 returns and 1 exchange. Big 5 has a FAIR return policy, just follow the rules- receipt, packaging, if possible. The young man at the counter knew exactly what he was doing, and handled the process well. This type of x-action often causes a retail person to fold up and start whining. At Big 5, they run the front counter very well, assist with enthusiasm your search for an item, etc. This is a good store! The recreational mecca of Mohave County needs Big 5 and I am very happy with them, always. Kudos, staff and Mgrs.- Well done. read more

4:16 PM on 6/21/24 I entered the big five went to the gun section hung out there for a minute or two. Nobody came to help me or asked if I needed anything. Was standing in the clothing area for about 1015 minutes trying to figure something out. Nobody came to help me or asked me if I needed anything so I went to the register and asked they were able to answer my question. The manager was talking to one of the employees upfront and she was cussing not like big cuss words, but saying the word shit and other smaller ones like that just super unprofessional. And they were having a conversation while I was checking out instead of giving the customer their attention for that moment. They were talking about getting counterfeit money. I don't know there was only two people in the store and I was the only one who bought something. Like I know one girl got $100 bill and a $50 fake bill that was the one that was helping me. She wasn't telling me that she was talking to the manager that was sitting on the floor, putting some items on a shelf.. I know the manager had somebody try to pass $100 fake bill back to back. Like I said, they weren't telling me they were having a conversation to themselves while I was checking out. I don't know just seem very unprofessional. I went here for some swim shorts and a lot of the shorts weren't labeled if they were swim shorts or not, but I didn't want to interrupt their conversation and be rude. read more

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE MARISSA THE MANAGER AND HER TEAM UNWILLING TO FIX PROBLEMS THAT THEY HAVE CREATED I work on the Colorado River and dropped by this BIG 5 location to buy a waterproof knife that could be used for work. I chose a knife, the staff found the box and left it at the register. I purchased the knife (without checking the box) and went to work. When i got there i opened the box and found it was completely the wrong knife and not suitable for any type of in water use. After my shift i went back to return the unused knife and was told by Marissa the manager that she could not accept returns until next month because of covid-19, even though it was THEIR mistake and even thoughmarissa the manager was there when i initially came in to purchase as well as when i attempted to exchange the knife. Marissa was completely unwilling to help me even though it was their employees mistake. Not only is their no return policy for covid-19 ridiculous, but furthermore Marissa the manager was not even wearing a facial covering when i came back to make the exchange. I will not return to this location for any if my needs in the future. read more

I recently purchased a shotgun here and they tell me no returns or exchanges. I bought a Dickinson 12 G. The very first time I take it out for target shooting the damn mechanism that discharges the spent round and feeds in a new one keeps jamming. My options are to mail it to the manufacturer or take it to a gunsmith. Buyer beware. Don't purchase firearms from these clowns. They know very little about them and clearly claim zero responsibility if there is a problem. They told me that Dickinson is a really good brand. Garbage. Havasu Guns told me it is a cheap Turkish or Chinese knock off. On top of that, they obviously have no experience in this because if they did they might know they received a damaged product from their distributor before selling it to a customer claiming it's a good brand. Big 5 is a knock off. And one more thing...I also bought a box of clay pigeons from them. Half of them were cracked and unusable. They won't take a return on those either. I wouldn't go there again to buy a damn sweatband. If you need sporting goods go to Dicks' or some place with class and knowledgeable staff. read more

I have been going to Big 5 for years. Recently I purchased a couple a couple pairs of shoes at the Bullhead City store. After I left, I realized that I had a 10% off coupon that I had forgotten. The following day, I called the store as the coupon had just expired. Since I had bought it when the coupon was still good, it seemed a no brainer that I could get the 10% refund. An employee, then the manager said that they would not honor the 10% off even though it was around $5.00. As many stores even honor expired coupons, I was amazed. The coupon was valid on the day, I had bought the product. Talk about poor customer service and satisfaction. The employees at Big 5, felt that it would be better to lose a long time customer over a $5.00 return, then credit the $5.00 dollars. When I got home, I checked my mail and in a coupon mailer was a $10.00 off a $30.00 dollar purchase for Big 5. What makes it even more ridiculous now, is that I have to return the products, get my refund, then repurchase them with the $10.00 off coupon. Yes, they really showed me. So today my husband and son went to Big Five in Bullhead City, now we have been shopping there for the last 6 years now today when my son went there he picked up an item that was marked at $20.00 but fir some reason the scanner was not working and so she manually entered it it rang up at $49.99 so... my son asks that why is it coming as that when it was marked at a different price. The cashier merely stated it priced wrong this is the correct price ! She was Rude and condescending Did not even acknowledge that it was tagged at a lower price, and then went on to tell my son " if you can't afford it then you shouldn't buy it " what the H**L ! Who does this poor excuse for a cashier think she is speaking to the customers like this ! My son and husband were so embarrassed that they left the items and walked out of the store I hope that someone in Corporate Office is monitoring this site so they can see what kind people are working for them they are (killing) their clientele !! Went to purchase a swim cap. The price tag clearly said $2.99, but rung up as $3.99. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until I got home. Sooo...I had to make another 12 mile round trip. The manager refunded my money, but clearly couldn't have cared less. It's a nice way to make money: overcharge everyone $1.00 for their purchase and hope they don't notice/care!
