Let me start here so you know I'm not a an unreasonable person or some "Karen". Myself and the company I've been with (down the street) had used RMF for 9-10 years for services. Now, with their new management (Mr. K.) and the front desk Service Manager (Mrs. L.) they have lost our business and I would recommend anyone wanting a quote from them to run. They are what you fear most, being upsold every chance they can. You will work with 3-4 different people/mechanics all telling you something different. Here are the facts: I came in for my thermostat fan not turning off + noise in the front left of my truck. After "diagnosis" they "found" I needed a new oil pump, then it turned into they "found" I needed a new fuel pump. Once the work was completed, I realized my warranty was still active. Upon review of their diagnosis and old parts, the warranty company denied my claim. I then was told "Don't share pricing with them as I charged them more, to save money if covered" (Picture attached). This is fraud and is illegal. Their GM (Mr. K.) openly told me "we only added about $800 to the invoice we submitted to the warranty company". When meeting with (Mr. K.) I asked him what my invoice was at. He said "Well you don't need that differential tear down anymore, the mechanic was wrong, I drove it and it should just need front breaks and a wheel bearing." That would've been another $2300-$3k in work THAT I DID NOT NEED. All in all, new management does not put their customers first. They sell you on everything they can. As long as the front desk gal (L.) is there and the new GM is there (K.) good luck. They told me "we will be doing training so things like this don't happen again." read more

I recently brought my diesel truck in to have service work done based on a recommendation from a friend. I can't begin to say how much I appreciated all the work and effort that was done by the staff to address my issue on my vehicle. About a month ago I brought my vehicle in for a tire rotation and the mechanic doing it broke off one of the lug nuts and the wheel stud half way the owner came out and gave me the broken wheel stud and refused to fix it claiming whoever did the last tire rotation over torked them I told him I felt they should repair it and he refused to. I have been giving them business for 20 years and after checking my records they were the last ones to do the tires. This business won't stand behind there work and will leave you high and dry. I would take your auto elsewhere. Consumer beware. I will give them the opportunity to make this right by reimbursing me the $200 I have spent trying to rectify there screw up read more

I am always thankful for the service at RMF Auto. The people who help explain the services needed and prices associated make sure I understand the work I need done. They walk me through needed car maintenance and repair as though I am an equal. I don't feel "talked down to" or "dismissed" because I am a female. (It has happened in other places.) The prices are fair and the work very well done. They stand behind their work. They look ahead and talk about timelines for needed maintenance. I get an email with a full diagnosis of my vehicle with every oil change. I drive from quite a distance for the service I have found here. Highly recommend! read more

I was first introduced to the brother team that run RMF as a member of one of the neighboring fire departments. I then proceeded to have my vehicles, and those of friends and family worked on over the years. Everything from an oil change, too full on transmission replacements. The work is honest, dependable, and accommodating. They have stayed late, met in the middle on one situation that they admitted they should have done a little deeper dive into the troubleshooting further, and fit friends and family into the schedule last minute in order to get them back on the road. Awesome service. Had trouble with hatch locking and unlocking. Jaimie worked on it for 10 minutes when they were very busy. We figured out the rubber gasket was getting in the way. Fixed it and works fine. I asked how much I owed them and he said nothing. Soooo appreciative. They always go the extra mile. read more

I have to preface this review with I am a former employee!! Haven't been since August and I am getting no benefit for reviewing them well. The mechanics there really know their stuff. They do a great job and are very careful about not overwhelming customers With the repairs that their vehicles need. I have no doubt that my vehicle is getting the best service in the Hudson area. They are comparably priced on most services to the other shops. The only thing that's a downfall is sometimes they get overzealous and book more vehicles than they can get done. I would recommend taking the turn around time for your vehicle for major services with a grain of salt. They will try hard to get it done but it sometimes takes longer than the original estimate. During the time I worked there and since they have serviced my car and I really don't think I would take it anywhere else. They really don't try to sell you things you don't need. read more

This place is terrible! They will try to charge you for work they didn't even do! They price specials are falsely advertised! They even stole my spare set of keys and refuse to give them back! They admit they have them! I bought new rims here and they scratched them up putting them on! They lied to me too. Said I'd get free tire rotations from buying new rims and tires there. First time sending in a review. I try not to read too much into reviews but I felt like this place was not like your typical tire and lube places that trying to sell you wipers and air filters you don't need. Had some doubts from reading the other reviews but decided to try something close to my house. They had American made tires which was a plus for me. They have a very clean building, nice equipment, friendly staff, and a nice waiting room for my boy. We had four tires installed on my wife's car and we have no complaints. I can't speak for the rest of their services but we will definitely be coming back. read more

I took my car there because it stopped working and I needed to be towed. They were the first place I called that offered towing. They then told me that 1. my fuel pump was not working which was the main problem with my car 2. My timing belt needed to be replaced ASAP because it was "dry" or it would break and ruin my entire engine. They would include this for an extra $500. I had them fix my fuel pump (over $900 including the tow) but opted to wait to get my timing belt fixed until I had more money. 2 weeks later I took my car to my mechanic and he told me there was nothing wrong with my timing belt and that it did not need to be replaced. I do not trust RMF Auto because they told me I needed to replace something that I didn't. read more

Had a ball joint replaced in my car. Less than a year and a half later, the exact ball joint they replaced has gone bad. I called to see if they had options or could do anyhting for me. Answer to both questions was "nothing". Come to find out the warranty only covers 12 months or 12,000 miles. To expect a ball joint to last only 12,000 miles is pretty weak. But the fact they wont do ANYTHING for me in this case is down right dissapointing. There up front service and mechanic ability appeared to be great. But when it came to backing it up, I feel it fell short. I will not be taking my car back to them in the future. read more

I have used RMF for the past 3 years after a bad experience at another Hudson garage. Prices are competitive with other non-dealer establishments but I have not had any re-work needed as I experienced at other places in Hudson. They offer a coupon book for $65 that is worth much more even if all you do is use the free oil changes. Top notch mechanics, no pushing for unneeded service, clean and bright in the waiting room and the garage. They even drive me home if the work is going to take a while. Wouldn't go anywhere else if I had a choice! read more

RMF auto has is a horrible auto shop. I had my car towed there when it broke down on the road. They overcharged for parts and service. I found parts online for half the price then what they are asking for. Their estimated price for a simple bearing fix was going to be around the price that my whole car was worth. When I told them I did not have the money to fix my car and I wanted to tow it home and fix it myself they charged me for an hour labor for looking at it. Really it would have only taken 10 min to look at my car. I already knew what was wrong with it and told them before had. This is a horrible place, they are just going to rip you off. So I have typical shop I go to for my routine maintenance. I received a "gift certificate" for their shop from them for my birthday. So I thought what the heck I will give it a try. They are open until 6pm Mon-Fri. I asked how long it would take for oil change and tire rotation. One hour was the response. I asked for a 5pm appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. He said he would not do it; 4pm. I explained that I come from the west side of the twin cities and couldn't be there by 4. Then he said 4:30. I said I would try to be there at that time but couldn't say exactly 4:30 bearing in mind traffic but would make it as close to that as possible. He then told me there was no way that was going to happen. He was extremely rude and condescending. I informed him he was making very difficult for a person to want to come back to his place for services in the future if he was unwilling to be accommodating especially when I was asking for a time to have the work done during his business hours. Again he told me this was not going to happen and he would not honor my certificate. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! As mentioned in the post from a past employee they obviously overbook. And they obviously do not want any new clients. Oh well, there loss and I want to be sure this information gets out there before someone else has to experience the lack of service let alone complete unprofessionalism of this business. I am surprised they are still in business. I also now understand why they are sending out these "birthday certificates", can't keep customers based on how they run their operation so they have to drum up new clients.
