Don't use this car wash!…read more Just bought a brand new car in April 2011. Got back to town, didn't know where to go to get my car washed so I saw this place and pulled in. The car wash is on the West side of JFK Rd. I entered the 1st of the larger sets of wash bays - the one closest to JFK Rd. They are automated unattended car wash bays. Everything seemed fine until I parked and saw the top of my car. The heater/blower that rides on top of your car that dries it off at the end dug up my new paint! You pay cheap, you get cheap and you get your car scraped up with cheap shitty unmaintained equipment. Best place to go in town to get a decent wash: Miracle Car Wash I go to the larger one on: 2090 Holliday Dr Dubuque, IA 52002 (563) 557-7822 But the Original Miracle Car Wash downtown has great reviews too.

I had a great reliable mechanic in Chicago, and after four visits here, I think I've found another good one. Liebold is located conveniently near downtown Galena. In those four visits, I've only spent about $50, which is a major coup with any mechanic. Two of of those were actual service, and two were my hearing noises, bringing the car in for diagnostics where they found nothing. Kudos to them for putting up with my "mechanichondriac" tendencies and of course with mouthing the noises for them when I bring the car in. Living in a small town, you know, word of one's eccentricities tends to get around fast, and I could get a "reputation." On all four visits, I was able to hang out and wait at their shop and peruse the nice variety of outdated magazines, watch and laugh at animal videos on my smart phone, so it was the auto service equivalent of fast food. The fact that on two occasions they didn't charge me a cent (to find nothing was wrong) is a good way to guarantee I will be back to annoy them in the future. Thanks, guys. You're better than Paxil.

I paid $25 for a full service wash which was supposed to include exterior, interior, vacuum, windows and freshener. Needless to say all they did was a crappy vacuum of the carpets in the front and back, nothing else except run it through their wash and dry. When I brought it to their attention they told me that because it was an SUV it would cost more. I didn't even get the air freshener. There is still bug splat on the windows, dirty cup holder, sand in the gears. It all comes with travel, but hey that's why I was paying them?
