My move is still in progress but should have looked here first as my experience is much like the others. I am writing this while on hold for 27 minutes and counting for someone to pick up the phone. I contracted with Road Runner to move furniture from my parents home in Florida to an assisted living community in Maryland. Sales process went fine, the packers and loaders were very punctual and professional. They packed and loaded last Saturday, September 26th as agreed. Both the original sales person and the packers agreed to a delivery date of October 1st (also written on the paperwork the packers gave me). Having not heard anything by Wednesday Sept 30, the day prior, I called the main number in the morning. The person who answered said she would call dispatch to determine the status of my delivery and call me back. After six hours and not hearing from them, I called back. They had no new news for me and could not say when it would be coming. The next day I called again. On many occasions the phone was not answered and I would have to call back. Upon finally getting in touch with someone, she assured me I was wrong about my delivery date and it would come within a three to seven day window beginning last Monday, Sept 28th so by that math I could expect delivery between Thursday October 1 (the original agreed day and the basis for my booking with them) and Monday October 5th. I was also told I would get an email with the driver delivery information who could then provide me with a more precise delivery day and time. She also refused to connect me with a supervisor or any way to reach someone higher up in the company, just an email address I could send a note to which I did and has not been responded to. Today is Saturday, October 3 and I have received no additional info or emails. At this point, in the absence of any info from Road Runner, I will have to cancel and rebook the plane tickets I purchased for myself and my parents to fly to Maryland on Monday to move them into their new home since I cannot be sure their furniture will arrive in time. I booked these tickets based on Road Runners commitment to an October 1st, (2nd at the latest) delivery date. My Dad is 87 and Mom is 97 so this will add extra trauma to their already traumatic experience of giving up their independence and moving into an assisted living home. All could have been avoided if Road Runner had just lived up to their date or, at the very least made the effort to provide the slightest bit of information so I could have adjusted earlier instead of scrambling on the weekend and no doubt paying hundreds of dollars more to change their tickets. I would not have booked without the Oct 1 delivery date commitment. I am sure little can be done at this point. Even when you reach their office they are not helpful. This morning they answered, assured me they would check and call me back. Six hours ago and no call. I will go through the expense of changing their flights and taking extra time off of work to move my parents on the assumption that some day I hear from Road Runner and they have not just stolen my parents furniture. I did feel it important to file this complaint since booking a mover for most people is something you do rarely and therefore have to rely on reputation and experiences of others to make a choice. I wanted to let people know that, based on my experience at least, every bad experience you read about with them on YELP as well as the BBB site and various review sites seem to be true. Something I wish I had researched better before writing a contract with them. read more

I tried to be proactive and book my move a month in advance but the other guys we booked backed out due to overbooking. Well not back out, they wanted to move the move date to the next day but I believe if I took the time out to reserve something it should stay reserved. I had just a week left to move and called Road runner moving and storage. They luckily had an opening and Bob helped me set up my appointment efficiently. He was able to provide answers for all my questions that I had.  I also got an email, with all the details rules and guidelines, which are very helpful for me to plan my move accordingly. On moving day, Mike and Kenny came on time and they are super friendly and approachable. We discussed about the plan of move and how they were going to do it. The plan was to get everything to garage where they would then sort it out and load the truck. Mike then went over the contract carefully with me before we proceed. During the move, both guys were very diligent and agile. It took them around 5 hours to finish the move, which made me think that I should have listened to Bob and hired 3 movers. They helped me big time for the move. I highly recommend Road runner moving and storage for their hospitable and hard-working movers. read more

Marcos and Andre are very polite men and they work very good. While loading l mentioned that l need to pick up a bunk bed I bought from Ashley HomeStore I bought the day before. They said they could do it as well as assemble it as they are very familiar with things like that. It was very convenient to do everything in one day with no additional services needed. Prior to calling Road Runner Moving and Storage I made an appointment with another company that was cheaper. When I described that I may be purchasing a bed that I would love for them to just pick up on the way they agreed but to classify it as a separate and new move. Which means, new contract, new mileage smh, ahm no thanks. So l called bee moving and explained the situation and I was told not worry they do things like this every once in awhile and isn't a big issue. They offered me to order labor only to pack all the stuff and call for the truck later. This way l was able to save some money and time instead of having them do it all on one day and having the truck out for longer costs. Everything went smoothly and no damage occurred. I needed to move for my work, so i connected with Road Runner disclosed to them i require a few people to move my furniture and in the event that they can enable me to store it some place safe. the secretary was exceptionally proficient i marked the printed material and following day 3 individuals appears to my condo they dismantled the furniture and wrapped it; and transported to the capacity unit. they quickly sorted out the furniture in the capacity so it is less demanding to see where everything is in the event that i need to offer something. Couldn't have requested a superior ordeal. Its a good thing i emailed them because i didnt know where to look up to! thanks again read more

This was the first time I've used the services of Road Runner Moving and Storage (moving from Florida to California) as I've been skeptical about whether or not it was worth it. Well, let me tell you that, it was worthwhile. It was as simple as calling and scheduling a free estimate and the rest is history. They moved everything so quickly i was so happy thanks guys!! The movers did an awesome job moving everything. Two big sofas and a sectional with 3 bed sets is not an easy task to take on. But they did it with grace and finesse. I hired this company to move me from New Jersey to California. I had a great experience from start to finish. The only problem that I had was that one corner of a box was damaged but all of the items inside were in good condition. I did opt for the premium pack. The movers packed up everything and it did give me peace of mind that everything would arrive in excellent condition. Personality with moving. I've moved around from places - here to there, wherever. Shipping teams always come in and just take and move, and sometimes they aren't even fragile. Here was a different experience. Road Runner Moving & Storage made it easy. It felt like I was moving with family. They helped carry everything and they were fragile. Unlike other moving companies, I felt less like a customer and more like a member of a family. I'd be glad to move with them again, but for now I think I love where I live. read more

High pressure sales. Under estimated moving costs by half. Extra charges when they finally arrived. Lost a 55 inch flat panel tv and a box of tools that were crated. Extremely unhelpful in locating and compensating for the "lost" items. Customer service is non-existent. After six weeks still no resolution with their so-called insurance company. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

The experience was wonderful! We needed some intense moving for a huge outdoor event and we hired these guys. We didn't have a lot of time and I told that about that from the very beginning. Their guys arrived in time, picked up all the furniture and boxes in like 2 hours! An hour later all our stuff was already delivered to our event location! Will definitely use them again. read more
