Service was friendly and for the most part knowledgeable. "For the most part" meaning it depends on the clerk who's helping you. Being that it's a running store, would love it if EVERY employee was knowledgeable in running (past or current experience). One clerk we spoke to, although nice, you could definitely tell she was just reciting a script. Thankfully another gentleman helped us with all of our concerns and questions. The selection of shoes, clothing and accessories was adequate; not too overwhelming. The cost is pretty comparable to most running stores. You're able to get fitted for shoes and custom insoles. I actually went back to the store because the shoes I got just weren't feeling right at all. So Jonathan showed me the Mizunos. Wow. Game changer. Felt sooooo much better. These shoes weren't mentioned to me when I first came in. Quite pleased after I tried them on. The prior shoes I had were great but my back heel kept shifting, so had to change that ASAP. If you want to be charged more than once -- go here to shop. I only got a pair of shoes + soles. Nothing complicated. Yet the cashier charged my CC twice?!????? The other lady with the high top was more telling me what do and what I need instead of listening to what I wanted and liked. She was too serious. Then she kept telling me about all these dicounts she was going to give me that day but it was just discounts on coupons for later. Smh! They seem very pushy here and that doesn't sit well with me. Jarrod is the man. I run quite frequently, and here's some advice if you're in or considering the VIP program; the more pairs of shoes you buy, the cheaper they get! As someone who runs quite frequently and burns through shoes like nobody's business, this is a great policy. The best experiences I've had are when I know what I want, but even when I don't, just trying to articulate my running needs to the staff helps them explain to me what I need in more technical terms. I know this isn't the case for everybody, but I haven't had a bad experience here, especially with Jarrod. Their clothing line, Korsa, is great as well, albeit a little pricey. I like to support local businesses. This is a cute running store, with a good assortment of shoes and socks, especially for road running. They do not carry some of the smaller brands for trails, so you're not gonna find Xtalons here. They do have the big brand names like Nike, Brooks and Saucony. They use a membership model, which saves you money, which is great if you buy a lot of stuff, but if you don't then their prices are particularly poor. This is a fairly expensive store, so you expect the service to be good. There is one younger lady, I Burnet who is particularly unhelpful. I went in looking for shoes for my daughter and ask her explicitly for athleisure kinda of shoes and had to explain what I was looking for, " Athletic shoes that are good for hanging out casually." She told me, "we don't have that." So I looked around and found the shoes that look nice, and then order them online. If there's no service, then I will just buy them online. If they provide me with the service, then I'm happy to buy from their store. Two months later we are back in. I found some shoes I was thinking of buying Some new road shoes, but my wife was also looking for shoes. I had good luck with the gentleman who was helping me, but that same lady was not helping my wife. My wife got frustrated and wanted to leave, so I told who I assume was the assistant store manager, who then helped us and was great. Dear management , We pointed out the woman who doesn't care about the customers coming to your store, hopefully you were able to provide some sort of corrective action. She's terrible for your relationships with the local community, which she desperately need to compete against online. Service is what separates the small local stores from the Internet. Terrible customer service! I drove 30 minutes to get to this location to specifically purchase a pair of running shoes for an upcoming marathon, after browsing the shoes for a few minutes a female associate finally greeted me. I explained to her that I was looking for a great running shoe and that I had purchased a pair of Brooks before but felt a discomfort in my chins from the shoes, in the middle of the conversation the associate walks away from me, disappears to the back of the store while I'm left standing there for a good 5 minutes, I finally see the associate come out with a white folding table to set up for an upcoming event but never did she or any other associate in the store acknowledge me. New RRS VIP MEMBER as of today! Woohoo! I've heard of RRS, but never shopped here until I was introduced by a friend. I told myself, "why not give it a try and go all out?" Well that's exactly what I did. I'm a runner so I had a thorough gait analysis performed and insoles fitting (since I've never had it done ever in my life).The associate, Victoria, who assisted my friend and I was awesome! She brought endless boxes of shoes for us to try and made recommendations as well. It was an experience and I'll definitely be back to shop here more often. She was not only very polite she was fantastically knowledgable, patient and a GREAT salesperson. Went to this location to use a Active Advantage promotion and the staff and manager had no idea how to put in the code. Waited 25 minutes for them to come back to tell me they had no idea what to do. The shopping experience in the store was great. Very personalized, didn't feel rushed. However, there were a few things that were misleading. Overnight shipping is actually 2 business days. It's been two days and I am still waiting on a tracking number. When I called the store the rep gave me an incorrect customer service number. The customer service couldn't provide a tracking number and sounded as if she didn't care, but was more helpful than the girl that answered the phone in the store. Unfortunately you come here with the expectation that you wont get helped. Everyone has a bad attitude here and are super young, including the Manager, and theyre all in the back the entire time. I ask someone to help look for shorts, and they leisurely walk out after a few minutes, telling me 'Everythings out', ie 'You go find it yourself'. I've been to various ones in other states, and I can always rely on them to help me find the right shoes. They also are very knowledgeable and so helpful with guidance/advice, regardless if you're there to buy or just browse. At this particular location, Jarrod is extremely knowledgeable on finding the right fit for running, as well as other sports, such as tennis. They're not pushy at all and very genuine. Drove out to this store. When I walked in I knew what I wanted (Hoka slides). I noticed they were very busy but no worries I know what I wanted. While picking out my selection I overheard one of the customers ask a employee is there anyone that can help....her response was "we're super busy". Yeah, that was horrible...But that didn't have anything to do with me. Or so I thought. I choose my selection and proceed to the register. The guy at register ask me if I had shopped there before I said yes. He asked for cell number...I reluctantly gave it up...he nothing comes up. I was happy with that...he asked for some more info 'to build a profile'. I wasn't interested. He says 'we need a profile to sale the shoes'. Thinking maybe because I was using debit it was mandatory at store or something. So I say I'll pay cash...he says still need profile. Long story short I really wanted those slides...I my home on the Westside and drove over specifically to purchase, but because I wouldn't give personal information on who I am he would not sale. Had a great experience buying running shoes at Road Runner. I don't recall the names of the people I worked with but overall very pleased with all of them. I worked retail for a long time and to see so many smiling faces and enthusiasm was very encouraging from the beginning. First, I will say prices are a little high but you are paying for experts to help you. I went for the custom insoles (highly recommend going thru this...you get a run study and fitted/molded insole) and brooks shoes after trying on several types. Also, I'm on the fence about VIP... if you aren't planning to spend more than 200$ I don't recommend it. For me, it was a good deal and was happy with it. read more

Customer service can completely change your mind sometimes. Case in point, I visited Road Runner Sports, both to get new cross trainers and to cancel my VIP membership...and then I met Allie, who was ridiculously helpful. My latest shoe dilemma was I was getting holes just above my big toe, because apparently I have big toes of steal...no...I was just placed in a wrong shoe size from a competitor. I had done their fitting process before, getting on the treadmill and getting my feet measured, but they wanted to double check again just to make sure of what was going on. Glad they did! While I waited for shoe selections to be brought out, they have you use a mini foam roller for your foot soles, so you can really get your feet relaxed for the shoes you're about to try, and man did I try shoes...pair, after pair after pair. I never once felt rushed, pressured and staff were just interested in getting me in a correct shoe than making a purchase. They had me fitted for their orthotic inserts as well, because I had my own personal ones, but again, no pressure to buy (their custom orthotics that they mold to your feet in house are rated for about 3000 miles though, and cost $70, FYI) At the end of the day, I walked away with last year's model shoe (because it felt better than the newest), with a store discount, and a VIP discount. 2 stars for helping me find a good running shoe, which was my goal. Sales associate led me through the process of observing how I walk (foot placement, stability of ankle) to find the best shoe for me. That was helpful. He proceeded to make some shoe inserts that were "custom fit" - no mention of additional $80 cost - just presented them to me as a "here-you-go" kind of thing. Same with entering my name and email address in computer. No pushing, just "enter-your-email-here". Over to choose the shoes, along with my "custom" insoles. They brought me 3 pairs best suited for me so I could compare. Found shoes I liked. Brought over to register to pay, and advised of the VIP program, and that I should join because I "wouldn't like" the price of the shoes without it. Total without VIP discount = $234!! $119 for shoes, $80 for the inserts, tax, $20 for the VIP membership. I'm like, uh, all I wanted was shoes. So I paid for the shoes and left. This is just a "let the buyer beware" info - they do a good job of trying to push you through the process so you'll accept the inserts, give up your email address and pay for a VIP membership. They're not rude about it - they are very subtle and smooth about it. But I hated it. I'm glad I got my shoes, but I will never go in there again. I would have had a better experience if I had been asked whether I wanted a custom evaluation (along with $80 shoe insert) - OR- just to try on shoes. If you want to browse and get an idea of what's available, this is NOT the place to go. read more

Was pretty discouraged when I went in to find a new pair of running shoes. I didn't want to do the ShoeDog treadmill experience because I've been a runner for years and know what works best for me. I asked to try on two pairs and was given the impression I was inconveniencing the associate in the shop. He was clearly trying to get to the other customer there who did want to do the treadmill diagnostic. I tried on each pair and needed different sizes, but he seemed exasperated and warned me that one of the pairs was minimalist and I shouldn't get them. Those are the type which work best for me and I wanted another size, but he disappeared so we left. Summary: If I know what works, just get the shoes I ask for -- Don't act like I'm wasting everyone's time by not using the diagnostic tool and/or basically say you don't want to sell me the type of shoe I want. read more

This is now my go to running shop. I have cycled through 3 or 4 different shops over the past few years, and each has served their purpose. RRS, serves it purpose well. Staff: Very friendly, helpful, and willing to work with you to find what you need Selection: If you need it, they have it. They don't always carry every color, but they can order it for you in a matter of days Price: This is a real point of differentiation. Road Runner is less expensive then many of the other shops I have been too. I have been part of a running group out of this shop for a while now, and could not be happier. Okay, I'll admit I wasn't thrilled when Road Runner opened a store in Georgia, because that meant I now had to pay tax on my orders. But this may turn out to be a good thing after all. For instance, the shoes I recently purchased online are a half size too big. I went up there during their opening weekend and was greeting by a friendly but not hovering staff. The young man gladly exchanged my shoes and offered to look for another pair of my endangered model. While I was there, I perused the store to see what else they had to offer. They had a lot of accessories such as fuel, socks, hydration, compression, and of course shoes. Most of the clothing itself was Road Runner brand, with a small offering of mainstream brands such as Nike and Adidas. While I haven't bought the RRS brand for sometime because it never impressed me, it does appear that they have improved their products in both quality and selection. Since I don't like in the neighborhood, I won't come here to do general shopping. But it is nice to know that I can return orders without paying shipping anymore. read more

I dropped into Road Runner Sports with a friend. She was picking up a packet for a 5K she was running. Maybe one day I'll do one of those. *chuckles* They had a large store with lots of sports items. They had a good selection of running shoes. I saw some really cute colorful neon shoes. The parking was ok. They are in a busy plaza. The pricing varies, but the had some reasonably priced items. That particular day, they were providing bottled water to customers. That was nice. I'd visit again when I have more time to shop and speak with staff. I normally steer clear of this store when in the market for a new pair of running shoes or accessories. I am a browser and prefer to just take my time and look around when shopping. Heck sometimes I don't have an objective when I walk into a store. This is a store where I have always felt "pounced" upon. Well, fast forward to last week and I wanted a new pair of Nike running shoes. And... The Nike Store wasn't open for an hour. So I figured I could handle the pouncing and the stalking, as I gave finding a pair of new running shoes a whirl. I immediately met Jacqui when I walked in. She greeted me politely, without demanding to know why I was in the store. Pointed me to some coffee (Clearly she knew she was in for a treat dealing with a Woman with prior bad experiences when walking into the store.. A morning cup of joe was a great greeting.) I found what I wanted. Jacqui was super helpful, and nice and I WILL be back. Final review... Don't let the immediate pouncing scare you.
