Tucked right around the corner from the hospital registration area the small enclosed sculpture is a nice piece for the hospital and has a hopeful and appropriate name of healers touch. Overall it's always nice discovering new public art and finding them. This was a nice surprise while visiting a family member at a hospital.

The marker reads, "Established in 1859 by George A. Armstrong and was known for its good food and lodgings. Guerrilla leader Ed Terrell stopped here briefly, May 26, 1866. Attempting to escape, he was mortally wounded nearby. Brigadier General Henry H. Denhardt was slain here, Sept. 20, 1937. When the hotel was destroyed by fire on February 7, 1944, the owners decided not to rebuild." There is street parking along US-60 and several parking lots in the area. Originally purchased for charity these horses are mainly found in front of businesses. This one is located on front of a medical office in the okolona neighborhood of Lousiville Kentucky. Thai horse retires a light baby blue color with balloons and smiley faces probably to coincide with what is a pediatric office inside the medical building it sits in front of. Very well done and well maintained. Overall it is always fun to discover these horses. I've made it a goal recently to really take notice of them and check them out up close and personal.

The single deck cantilever bridge was built in 1961 and honors John F Kennedy. Going southbound there is a beautiful view of downtown Louisville skyline and the Ohio River. At night, the lights are amazing from the bridge. Interesting the northbound side is a different, newer bridge. In recent years repairs in the bridge have become costly so they instituted a $2 toll for EZPass users and $4 for others. Locals, of course, hate the tolls. The bridge was recently painted. The only part I do not like about the bridge is that the six lanes are narrow. The bridge is heavily travelled and backs up during rush hour.

As soon as you cross this bridge most of the time, you're going to be sitting in traffic. For a bridge, it's much better than the similar looking Des Plaines Bridge in Joliet.

It was opened in December of 2015. Its namesake is in honor of President Lincoln and his birth place of Kentucky. The bridge was built to accommodate the public and stress of traffic congestion from the John F Kennedy bridge Now the tolls that we pay go to make the surrounding areas beautiful. Make sure and visit the dedication to President Lincoln and his life and many other memories on the Kentucky side.

It's a $200 million dollar modern six lane suspension bridge over the Ohio River and it is drop dead gorgeous. I have my EZPass so moving through is a breeze. Travel is so much easier in and out of Louisville since the bridge has opened. There are no toll booths so if you do not have a pass then you will receive a bill in the mail and it is a little more expensive. So get the pass! The pass can be used in a number of states so it is a handy thing to have.

Thin legged horse rack is a Public art sculpture that doubles as a functioning bike rack off w…read moremarket street in downtown Louisville Kentucky Created by artist Samantha Griffith as part of the "bike rack" art initiative that consist of local artists making unique and interesting sculptures that double as bike racks and spread them throughout the downtown area. This live is a red horse with really long thin legs which I assume is helpful for the bike rack part. Overall it is always fun coming across the bike rack series in the city and seeing unique artist interpretations of a bike rack.
