First time here. We drive past alot and always wanted to stop. I think from the outside we were hoping for a little bit more updated style inside. After we sat, I went to the bathroom and I realized there was a back area with a bar, that was a little bit more updated and not such an older feel. I think it would've been nice to have that option suggested to us when we were checking in to sit down as you can not see it when you walk in. The menu had lots of choices however the food was very basic. Nothing was bad necessarily, but nothing led any of us to say "oh yeah, we have to come back here!" Well, third times, the charm, or is it 3 strikes you're out for this restaurant? We have been here 3 times in the last month. On every occasion, the service was the worst I've had anywhere, but we decided to give them one last chance. We were the first table seated today around 11:30. The owner/ manager sat us at a booth and went to get our drinks. He proceeded to seat 3 more tables that came in over the next 10 minutes. The waitress literally walked right past us and took the food order of the last table to sit down. She walked past us again with absolutely no acknowledgment on her part. Our menus at this point had been closed for 10 minutes. 5 minutes later, she brought that table their soups. She then proceeded to walk past us again to the table across from us. They were just looking at their menus. She asked if they were ready to order, but they said they needed a few more minutes. She then walked past us again without a glance our way. At this point, the manager/owner was still standing in the dining room, two tables away from us talking to the table whose order she had just taken. Since the manager sat us and brought our drinks, he clearly knew when we got there and that we were yet to have been greeted or our order had been taken, yet he did nothing about it. After 5 more minutes without service or any type of acknowledgment, we did get up and leave. I did tell the manager why we were leaving, and we will NEVER go back. The food is mediocre at best. Add in the HORRIBLE service, and it's just a losing combination. The last time we went, they sat us in the bar area, and we NEVER saw a waitress. Im not kidding. After being refused service the previous reviewed restaurants within 15 miles we tried this and they had no problem with my brothers service animal. And the service was pleasant and quick. The food was absolutely fantastic. It's a beautiful restaurant with a log cabin look. Very classy. Will definitely stop there again if in the area. read more

Food was pretty decent. Burgers were quite thin but weren't bad. Fries were amazing. Service was pretty good, I did see a table leave because of how long they were waiting before being greeted but our server was nice. It did feel like I walked into a Time Machine going back to 2008 as the chairs had wheels on them and looked like they came from my grandmas house. It's decent. The space is huge and part of it feels like a banquet hall while part of it feels like a restaurant and a third part feels like a bar. People were seated throughout so I guess there's not a real spatial designation. It wasn't terribly busy when we stopped in, but the waitresses were all acting like they were swamped so maybe we missed a large party or group. There was also some employee drama going on that was a bit of a distraction as one woman kept saying "You go back there with me to talk to her because I'm done," and other phrases of the type. We sat at the bar. The service was good. I had one of the specials of the day, tenderloin tips over mashed potatoes for $9.99. It wasn't bad. The potatoes were bland but the meat was tender and the sauce with mushrooms was good. My husband had the cheeseburger and it looked really tasty, with a nice bun to burger ratio, plenty of cheese, and thick cut tomatoes on it. The seasoned fries were nice. The beers on tap were mostly regional. I think Stella was the most "out there" and it's not that out there at all, but the majority of the beers were Leinenkugel. I'm not a huge fan of Leinenkugel beers, but the Creamy Dark on tap really hit the spot. read more

The food is ok, and the staff is very friendly once they finally make their way to you. Waited about 13 minutes before the guy going around to do refills stopped to ask if we've even been helped. In our section it was our group of 7 and another of like 10, with the rest of the restaurant pretty bare as well, and I think I counted at least 5 waitresses who all looked our way but didn't stop by. Finally after flagging one down they apologized for slacking. Overall after the slow start it was ok, more than likely won't return. read more

My husband and I were visiting his family and we came here for brunch. The ambience is nice and I like the cabin feel and look if it. I especially love the Christmas lights strung around the restaurant and love that some of them blink. The servers were all friendly and attentive. I had a Belgian waffle with blueberries and it was yum. Full of blueberries which I appreciated! I also got whipped cream. Pretty standard, but still yummy and they definitely didn't skimp out on the fruit topping! There are 4 eating areas including the bar. There's a TV and some mini gambling machines. I have eaten here several times and never had a bad meal or service so I love coming here and will continue to come here for either all my meals just as long as I can afford it. My hubby son and I stopped in on a whim, we were greeted by Robin who took our orders and served us for most of our time there. When my hubby got his meal he did not like the taste as he was expecting the creamy marinara ravioli, to in fact be that a marinara ravioli. However, it looked to be a vodka sauce that tasted very different. When he asked Robin about this, she said if you look at the menu, it tells you what it is. She said that we should have known when it said creamy that that meant vodka sauce. When he requested a burger in place of she was very short and rude. She then had another waitress bring out the burger and help us until we were done with our meal. When we asked her, if there would be some form of compensation due to the miscommunication about the food, she said that was not some thing that they do, and was very short with us. Usually the food and service is great. The messed up one of our drinks and one of the people I was with one of his onion rings wasn't an onion ring it had cheese powder and wasn't even cooked. The waitress went to go talk to the boys in the kitchen she said after she tried blaming the vendors. She was a little much to begin with. I like the place the owners are nice people and the atmosphere is good but I couldn't even leave a tip that's how bad the service was and I'm a tipper. Terrible customer service here..we used to go here or order takeout frequently, but never again..we ordered a couple meals for takeout and I ordered half rack of ribs, they were awful, terrible taste, fatty, all around not good on any level..I actually couldn't eat them and threw them out..I called to report it to a manager and her response basically was "oh well"..not even a sorry..she didn't care that food was terrible..offered nothing, even a sorry..will never go there again and never will recommend to anyone ever...act would tell plp to avoid cuz if you get a bad meal, they don't care..I'd give zero stars if I could, so I'll give one for answering phone there read more

I stopped here while waiting to meet up with some friends. This was the only bar open in Plymouth so I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm so pleased. This place is fairly large, and the bar could comfortably seat about 25 people, with the dining areas adding a lot more. I came just for a drink and a snack, so I ordered a cup of the chicken dumpling soup. The waitress informed me that it was made daily, and it is darn good!! Came with crackers and a fresh baked roll with butter. I grabbed a drink as well, and the ratio was perfect. Decor isn't overwhelming, noise was low, and the entertainment place is mostly like wood with accent lighting, very comfortable. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be making a stop. Good food, good service, great place for dinner while on the road for work. Closest place to the Baymont hotel so that's what brought me in. Will be eating there for a 3rd time in 2 days. Had chicken and shrimp Alfredo which was very good and a large portion. Had the salmon earlier today which was delicious, as well as their chicken noodle soup. Going back for a salad. Wasn't busy at all when I went (Wednesday & Thursday evening), which is a plus for me considering i'm not much of a people person unless I actually know you. I enjoyed it. Went for dinner this evening with Grandsons, and not a very good experience. We have gone here quite often and while it has been ok tonight I wished I had never bothered to leave the house. We got there at 7pm, and were seated, and some gal came and asked us if we wanted a beverage. One ordered a reg mt Dew the other ordered a diet Mt dew(He is diabetic) I myself ordered coffee with cream. While we waited for this another gal came and asked us the same thing we told her someone was getting our beverages. When they finally came she gave the wrong beverages to the soda drinkers which we checked right away due to health concerns and I didnt even have a spoon to stir my creamer in. After awhile a gal came to take our order. The boys gave their order which they have had before, and I chose to have breakfast food. I ordered 2 eggs over e-z, with slice of ham and hashbrowns. The gal said you cant have hashbrowns on fridays because kitchen is always a mess on fridays and they cant make them. american fries neither, but you can have mashed with gravey or a baked potatoe or fries. I was shocked you can make steak and other pricey meals but your kitchen is to much of a mess to throw some frozen hashbrowns on. Come on. Well I opted for fries and white toast. Finally meal came we had to ask for salt and pepper and silver ware and oh yes kitchen. Everyone done eating and still no toast. Finally I called for waitress as they were standing around the cornor drinking soda a talking and I asked her where is my toast. Oh didnt you get it. I quess maybe she thought i should get it myself. said no, she then asked if I wanted her to have some made and take home Now what the heck would you want to take cold toast home for. Got the check and was just under 50 bucks. went out to pay and gal asked how it was told her about what happened kind of smiled and said nothing. Never offered a solution I am sorry nothing. Bet I wont be coming back here again. I didnt leave a tp either and I am a very good tipper. I did tip quite generous to the man who was there who fills the beverages, and does the cleaning off of tables. He does what the servers should and could be doing instead of complaining about how hard they worked. I suggest they get a different job or owners need to get better help. read more

I had the best "wrap" here I've had in a while...wish I could remember the name of it but it had turkey, candied pecans, dried cranberries, and raspberry vinaigrette with baby spinach and red onion....I'd have this again in a heartbeat!!! I've been to the Roadside restaurant about 10 or 12 times. I have to say that for the most part this restaurant is pretty consistent with its service and quality of food. We were not expecting much from the perfectly nice but unremarkable exterior. Delicious meal a great surprise! There was ample parking close to the door. The bar is charming, with log walls and a darker, comfortable feeling. There are cozy built in booths with good tv screen viewing for games. We sat in the expansive dining room on the side, lighter and more open. The inside is clean and large, with dated but comfortable upholstered chairs and nice tables. The staff were all friendly and happy to see us. We felt welcomed from the very beginning. The menu has options for kids, burgers, chicken sandwiches, more involved dinner plates (like liver), and a wide variety of salads, including many gluten-free options. We ordered an app sampler, a kid's meal with mac and cheese, a bacon cheese burger, a swiss mushroom burger, and the liver plate. All of our meals were absolutely delicious and perfectly executed! The app sampler (onion rings, curds, corn dogs, moz sticks) were crispy but not overdone. They went super fast. The burgers were just right - not too thick, perfectly grilled, on soft buns and with appetizing and ripe tomato slices, lettuce, and onions on the side. Very tasty. The French fries were thick and crispy, soft inside - like the almost mystical perfect fries I remember from my youth. The mac and cheese - probably out of a box, but that's what my kid was hoping for and she ate it all, including the fresh fruit on the side. I'm not a liver fan, but Mr Awesome is! He reported his liver and onions were delish and cooked just the way he likes, but can't quite replicate at home. We also had beer and margaritas - a great mixed drink and no heartburn later, so they must be using the good stuff. The waitstaff were attentive, friendly, and accurate. I wish we could drag this great restaurant back home to Seattle with us. We are kind of spoiled with yummy restaurants - but not ones with lots of elbow room, ample parking, friendly happy waitstaff, and 100% correct AND 100% delicious, perfectly crafted food. We stopped here for dinner this past weekend while camping at Road America and arrived a bit late. We showed up at 8:20 not knowing they closed at 9. Our host let us know we might not be able to order everything on the menu due to the time at night it was. Fortunately, we already knew what we were going to order, so she asked the kitchen if it was still possible to make the food we wanted, and they were able to! So we sat down, we got our drinks and soups very quickly.The chicken dumpling soup was very good (and hot). Shortly after our food came out. We both got the Roast turkey with mashed potatoes. It was a very generous portion of both, which neither of us could finish. Unfortunately, we had lots of leftovers and only a cooler to store it in. Our waitress was kind enough to saran wrap our leftover container so we could put it in our cooler without the food getting soaked! We finished eating and left right at 9. We were very pleased with the level of service we had, and the accommodating they did to take care of us shortly before they closed. We will be back again! read more

Back after three years since our last visit to nearby Wade House and while the name is now ROADSIDE BAR & GRILL, the large and inviting restaurant is still a great bargain. If I didn't know better, I'd say the menu and prices are mostly unchanged. We arrived Sunday at 12:30 p.m. and the north dining room was nearly packed. Andrea, our server had her hands full but still managed to make us feel important, stopping by twice to make sure we had everything we needed. My wife and I ordered the French Dip Sandwiches ($6.99) with extra long french fries and were well rewarded. Both sandwiches were piled high with sliced roast beef and the snap in the french fries made for an added treat. Even the food plate presentation was above average with full adjus cups and pickles and a tomato. Finally while we finished our sandwiches, I counted nine others who needed containers to finish theirs. I can't remember a time when so many left a restaurant with food. Had to be those big portions. For those who indulge, Roadside has a full bar inside the large main dining room. This is a full service restaurant be it breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. Too bad it is so far from home, we will just have to wait till next year's Plymouth German Night or the terrific Wade House Arts & Crafts Day. Sorry stomach!!! read more

My husband and I were there at 2:00 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon with only a few other diners there They sat us immediately gave us our drinks and took our order. It took over 20 minutes to get us our food. Not a bad wait if the place was busy. My husband had the BLT Club which he liked, I had the Turkey Dinner which was ok. My advice to all restaurants, don't serve steamed mix veggies, keep it to corn, beans or peas. The restaurant has a rustic cabin feel the bathrooms were clean and updated. This place is a joke! Came in for dinner tonight and both my sister and I ordered baked lemon pepper cod. First off, it took well over an hour to get our food and it wasn't even busy. When our fish arrived, it was breaded, not baked! When we started eating it, we noticed that the breading appeared to have raw egg wash on it still meaning it was not fully cooked. We had said something to our waitress, when she came back about 20 minutes later, and she didn't know what it was. She decided to take the plate back to the kitchen to show the chef and came back stating this is how the fish is supposed to be. There is no way I'm eating fish with a raw egg wash coating on it not cooked! She said she would take the fish off but we had to pay for the soup, fruit and veggie that came with it! The price of the cod dinner was $12.55, she took off $4.00 for the cod, leaving us to still pay $8.48 for a cup of soup, a ramekin of fruit and a half ear of corn. This is not how you run a business if you want to keep customers! On top of it all, when we brought up the issue with the cashier/owner, she was Extremely snotty and rude about it. For a "roadside" restaurant this is one of the best I've ever been to! All the help is friendly and attentive, service is quick and there is ample parking for all. Breakfast is made just the way you order it. I recommend the turkey dinner with homemade stuffing, not out of a box, but really everything is very good. Then they came back 15 minutes later with the meal. No compliments. People around us were served. We only had 3 other tables!!!!Ridiculous!!!!
