Will be shocked to see this place still "open" for our annual Blue Harbor trip next year. We had gone last summer and really enjoyed it. We went at 7:15 this past Saturday with a party of 3. The inside restaurant had one table of 4 mid-meal and every other table was empty. The hostess told us she was "so sorry" but the restaurant was "reservation only." I had to laugh bc it was empty. We went down the street to Prohibition which was excellent. Walked back past Driftwood around 8:45 and they had all the chairs up on the table as though they were closed. Wild to walk away customers that want to pay you money in exchange for the product/service you are trying to sell. read more

I went on a Friday with my mom and nieces. Parking was surprisingly not bad. There is a lot nearby and the street as well. The interior has a fish-shack vibe which was very cute. There is also a small patio on the river that is very scenic. We sat outside which was busy but the space between tables was nice because it didn't feel packed. My mom and I got margaritas that were very good. Service was a little slow but not terrible. My nieces got a cheeseburger and chicken tenders which they both enjoyed. The cheeseburger came with their special sauce and that was excellent! It had a mild spice to it but overall was a perfectly seasoned mayo. My mom and I weren't crazy about the fish though. Mine seemed undercooked as it didn't flake nicely. The batter was pretty thin as was the filets. The tartar could have used more seasoning or something, it tasted mostly of mayo. I think I would go back again but try a burger or sandwich instead. If you are looking for a place for drinks on a patio, this is your spot! read more

This is well hidden across from resort. Once you walk in and continue to the back, the water view is fantastic. I imagine come summer, this place will be packed! We had Spotted Cows and steak frites, and both were fabulous! Very tender cuts and the herbed fries and Demi glacé pulled it together to result in clean plates! There's a small gaming wall with MILK CAPS... Wisconsin's KENO. Yassss! Orlean was our server, and was attentive and personable. Ryan, the chef and owner, I believe, came to our table to check on our food and experience. We chatted briefly, and he seems to be genuinely interested in patrons and his restaurant's/bar's success. I brought my mother here for lunch. She has a number of dietary restrictions so we had checked out the menu online to be sure there would be something she could eat. Unfortunately, the menu online is not the same as the menu in the restaurant so the sandwich she had been planning to have was not available. She thought the portobello mushroom sandwich sounded good and asked for it without the sauce. They were very accommodating and the sandwich did indeed come without the sauce. Unfortunately the caramelized onions contained so much black pepper they were nearly inedible. I scraped all the onions off the sandwich and gave it back to her as an open-faced option since one side of the bun was also coated in pepper from the onions. She was able to at least enjoy part of her meal. I had the fish tacos and thought they were just OK, nothing spectacular. There were two things that I didn't care for: the fish was in chunks instead of the usual filet and there wasn't a spicy sauce as is normally on a fish taco. They were fine, just not great. We had started our meal with the vinegar and bacon Brussels sprouts and those were fantastic; I'd consider coming to Driftwood again just to have those! Overall Mom and I had a nice time and in the end, time with her is all that really matters. read more

This review is current but relates to experiences over the last year. I understand that they are revamping the restaurant and menu with a reopening in about two weeks. I have had several meals there and a couple were very good and many were "meh". The chef I believe is new and I hope an updated tasty menu comes with the reopening. New management is not paying attention to wait/bar staff let alone customers. The staff is a young group of people who would rather hang around the bar just hanging around with the rest of the staff. The location however is one of the best in town with an outdoor patio on the river. Very nice! I hope the renovation and reopening go well. I will most certainly go back and check it out and I will adjust my opinion. Oh yeah, tell the chef not to go outside to smoke at the side of the building. It's gross. read more

Visited on June 1 for lunch and sat on the back patio. Took our order, brought us drinks. A while later came back and we ordered another round. Then completely ghosted us for 40 minutes. When the waitress finally came back out, she said the kitchen was really behind and maybe another 20 minutes for our sandwiches. Problem was, we saw they had turned away people and said they were no longer open for lunch. So we passed on the food at that point--45 minutes or so later. Asked for the check and she brought it--you would think they would comp at least one drink if not all of them for completely bailing on our order...but no. I really wanted to love this place. Called & placed a take out order. Was told 15 minutes for pickup. More like 30 minutes but I was ok to wait. Every meal had fries. They were cold & tasted like cardboard. Zero salt. Battered cod was ok. Steak had zero brandy peppercorn sauce (only reason it was ordered) but edible. Kids tenders were the only thing that had nothing wrong with it. Kids enjoyed them. No Cutlery provided but maybe I needed to ask. Such a shame as this place has so much potential. read more

We got to the restaurant at 4:30 for a 4:45 reservation for 9 people. The inside wasn't busy at all, and we were on the patio with 3 other tables. We weren't given two of our drinks and we weren't given silverware we had to ask for the drinks twice. And then we didn't get our appetizers until an hour after sitting. At one point, we had to go into the bar to get one of our drinks on our own. Then, we got our food super late, AND multiple items were wrong, missing or even more late. Food was very good. Sat outside was a beautiful day. Callie was our server and she was training someone we were a party of 6(4 adults 2 kids) so gratuity was automatically which she stated when she came to table I did like that knowing some don't see it on menu. We saw her 3 times maybe 4 times we had a round of drinks and when ordered 2nd round the old fashion was completely different not in same ballpark as the 1st one my total was 204.79 which i have no problem with, her automatic tip was 38.79 she could have made more if any effort to wait on us was there and we might have had another round if they had been done right. I work in the service industry so I can truly say no effort was made by her to improve her tip hopefully the young man she was training does much better. read more

Most our food came out either burnt or cold including the kids food that we had to cut off half of the pizza just to make it edible. The brioche bun is amazing, soft and chewy. The new owner used to manage Duke of Devon - So it is run professionally and with great quality and attention to detail. Struggling for taste and identity. Relatively new place trying to be hipster with strange menu whose flavors and ingredients are not complimentary. For example, instead of garlic and wine muscles, they offer muscles in a Miso broth with two types of peppers...one enhances, the other leaves a musty after taste from the dish. An overpriced, flatbread appetizer features arugula with lemon sauce. Not sure who is behind the menu, but it's not good. Needs revamping. Nice place, good location, patio, but staff was a bit judgmental and terse to be honest. Driftwood, go back to normal and delicious before you try to get all fancy as your menu doesn't match your theme or palettes. read more

The service was slow and the food was uninspiring. Being from South Louisiana I was compelled to try their Barbecue Shrimp Poboy. It was 5-6 bland grilled shrimp with what tasted like ranch dressing with some Cajun seasoning added that was supposed to be remoulade sauce on a soft hoagie roll. Those shrimp should have been awash in the spicy flavorful butter they were cooked in, but obviously the cook didn't research to find out that barbecue shrimp are cooked differently. Even ignoring the fact that the dish was prepared wrong and judging this sandwich purely as a grilled shrimp poboy instead it failed. Little taste and for $16 I expected more than a 5-6 inch sandwich. Far too expensive for the food quality and service. Nothing struck us enough to consider giving them a second try and without changes I would be surprised if they last. read more

Friday Cod dinner was okay, but not great. Husband and i got there about 5 pm (before any big Friday night crowds) so they weren't busy. German potato salad was very good. Cheese curds were good. Coleslaw was literally cabbage and mayo, no seasoning. Pretty sure the Cod was actually Whiting fish from Sysco. Husband's fish was overcooked and dark. Potato pancakes were pretty awful. Like uncooked pancake batter inside and not crispy at all on the outside. Tap beer was too warm. But our server Mikayla was very good. Overall it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't worth the money. If you enjoy rude service, this is the place to go. The hostess, an older woman with light colored hair, was very rude. She asked us if we wanted to sit at a high top. When we told her we would rather sit at a regular table she let out a disgusted sigh. She she brought our water, she slammed each of our glasses down on the table. Then, standing two feet from our table, she complained about us to the waitress, saying she tried to seat us somewhere else. At that point we had had enough and took our money elsewhere. read more

This place is delicious! The service was great, our waitress was very sweet. The soup was an Asian special and I was afraid to order it but I don't regret my decision one bit. The flavor was amazing. I also ordered the steak sandwich and it was delicious and very tender and it came with fries, chips or side salad I picked the salad. It was very fresh, not like a typical side salad you would normally get. My mom ordered the Pesto Cavatappi it was so good and had just the right amount of pesto and not too much oil.
