About half of us had done an escape room before, so we could compare differences to how Adventures of Intrigue worked. Here's the feedback: Adventures of Intrigue is really great for those that want to do an escape room without the heavy pressure/competition. Which for my family, is very fitting. It's also a WAY better option for kiddos, and seemed like some of the options were catered to kids, which is awesome. Our only complaint is we would have loved one that was really hard. The Save the Queen was rated as pretty difficult, and it still seemed pretty easy for those of us who do puzzles regularly! I don't want to compete, but I do want to be challenged. With that, the way they set things up was SO FUN and unique. Whoever thought of this has such a cool imagination. We loved searching around and finding all the little details. They did a fantastic job with setting the building up, I can't wait to see what else they add. After our escape room, we did an hour in the live video game room. They had cameras tracking our activity so we could pay games physically. Holy moly this place is COOL. Another unique concept that was a freaking blast. The workers were all so kind and fun, and really seem like they love their jobs. Such a cool spot for adults or kids alike. Highly recommend to everyone.

They also have a small café area where you can get drinks and snacks during or before your adventure. Our expert librarian, Jack was very helpful and entertaining, helping us along our journey that day. It's a very creative spin on escape rooms. There were groups of children doing adventures as well, so it seems like it's good fun for all ages. I love that you can go through the adventures at your own pace and don't have a time limit. I also like that we were able to do an adventure where we battled in teams within our group. I think that was really exciting in a good spin! I enjoyed my visit and look forward to doing more adventures in the future!

She told us not to come at all even though we paid in advance. When we arrived to get our money back, we heard her in the back room shouting again to another customer. When she came to the front, instead of greeting us and apologizing for the misunderstanding and inconvenience; she greeted us with more shouting and a threat to call the police. I could see she was extremely frustrated, upset, and in a terrible mood. I asked her the process for a refund before we left the premises. Need I tell you that we were calm the whole time. I highly recommend that NO ONE goes to this business. If you do arrive 1 hr early because you WILL get lost. Bring your patience because if you rub her the wrong way she will shout at you about how this is her business and she will call the police if you don't leave. The pressure kicks in so that adds to the fun. I went with my fellow Yelp elite members so we had a large group so we played two rounds and ensured everyone got a a turn in 2 hours. The time really flies so enjoy every minute! A tip would be to come up with your best family friendly nickname so the MCs can call you to the stage! The two MCs were so welcoming and supportive of all of our members. They even made a few modifications for us who needed to be seated versus standing. That is a huge plus for mobility accessibility. The game room is not too noisy and all the words or numbers were large on the screen too for those with auditory concerns. The venue was very accessible and the restroom was gender neutral but I did not see a changing table to maybe leave the little littles at home. There is a room to set up banquet tables if you host a party to eat. They also sell juice, tea, lemonade, beer, seltzer, soda, and wines!

I was only with one other person and the two of us were able to solve the mystery with just three minutes to spare. We did ask a couple clarifying questions and the worker was extremely helpful. It was a great experience. The set was adorable. You could see some wear and tear on the space/objects but nothing that impacted the game or experience. We highly recommend parking in the parking garage just south of the building. Do not confuse the parking with the parking lot for the apartment complex a block south of the building. This was probably our 15th escape room and one of the best in the St Louis area. Mastermind is cleaner and a better designed venue than most.

The business also provides various themed escape rooms, unique pinball machines, and a bookshelf of board games while you're waiting on your time slot. Regarding the pinball machines, make sure you bring your own quarters to use them since it doesn't seem like they have a quarter machine.

Ryan made it easy for us to book a group and was very understanding and flexible when some changes were needed. There was a total of 11 of us and we chose to do one of the harder rooms, Saloon Heist. We were a little lost at first, got stuck on some clues but overall we worked together and found the gold with 44 seconds remaining! That was a close one. Lol! The Foundry location in St Louis is easy to get, but parking in the area can be filled up on weekends evenings so just be prepared. The staff were a lot of fun and were also helpful when we had an issue with the game clutching rather than user error. Overall it didn't dampen or fun and we escaped!
