Shoes and bowling prices are cheap. The lanes are getting old. Balls getting stuck in gutters. The cages coming down before you bowl. But we do love the fans in the bays haha! Even on the busiest days, we haven't had any issues finding two bays next to each other. And they do get busy. Their concessions have $5 beers which is sweet. Their field is beautiful with plenty of flags to aim for. It's been really fun to watch myself progress here. Huge, gorgeous facility. Such a blast every time we go.

I must say that it was pretty impressive overall, and definitely a great 5 star experience, and all of us had a great time and will be back. There were just a few areas of improvement, but overall a great time. There are different game formats/objectives you play, as well as different courses. The 'referee' guiding you to/through the courses was excellent in explaining the rules and boundaries of that game. Great attitude as well (someone else playing on my team that wasn't part of my group had been there several times and said the referee always has a great attitude and approach). Great value, considering the time of play and different aspect of it compared to the typical indoor format. They also have laser scopes to help pinpoint your aim! The only 2 'negatives': 1) paint residue - Maybe it was on their website and I didn't see it, but some of the courses you play laser tag on are the same courses used for paintball. So there is some paint residue at a few spots. I knew to wear jeans since there might be some mud, but wasn't thinking of wearing an old shirt for possible paint. Luckily, it came out in the wash, but I will be better prepared for next time. 2) The game format is different than indoor - For indoor, it's typically "shooting fish in a barrel" most of the time, given the limited space. For this format, you get fewer kills/hits, because there is a lot more space, and it's (IMO) a lot more fun. It also depends on the number of people playing. So you may not find this as much fun if you are the type that has to have 1,593 kills in a 15 minute session. The slight negative with this is that during open play (when you may not remember exactly who is on your team, nor where they are on the course), it might be difficult to know exactly how many are left in the 'elimination' mode. So maybe a suggestion to the referee to periodically call out "red team has ___ left, blue team has ___ left".

Tucked away behind the merry-go-round, St. Louis Union Station Mini Golf offers a fun way to spend some time with friends and family. While it may not be the most overly themed or outrageously decorated mini golf course I've ever played, it offered an urban oasis amidst the very industrial venue. With a standard 18 holes, St. Louis Union Station Mini Golf offers a fairly straight forward mini golf experience with each hole feeling fairly unique. The difficulty level is easy enough for children and those (like myself) who are not skilled at playing golf to enjoy themselves without an overly challenging course. There's nothing worse in my opinion when a mini golf course is so hard that it drains the fun from your evening. My only criticism is that the course was not well attended by employees. While my boyfriend and I were playing there were two younger fellas who were endlessly hopping from hole to hole with no regard to lines or other players. They continued to play even after we finished our game. I think because St. Louis Union Station Mini Golf is tucked away in a corner, it's easy for employees to forget about, but definitely needs a little more watching. Overall, the experience is fun and is a perfect way to kill some time if you're waiting in a long line for a table at one of the restaurants.

This is one of the few true racquet clubs left in the city. After finally moving back to the Lou to raise a family we decided to rejoin the club to partake in the swimming and the tennis courts. The decor really hasn't changed much in several decades. The same wooden doors grace the entrance and the same smell and sound of indoor tennis permeates once you walk in. They dining room has been nicely expanded and looks very comfortable. There are about 9 rubberized indoor courts. The rubberized courts are fairly unique in St. Louis. They are much easier on the knees while chasing down tennis balls. They did install volleyball/basketball courts in the lower level along with a rehab and sports fitness center. The use of which is all included in a full club membership. Not too bad! Outdoor courts are incredible. There are about 15 courts in total but 6 of these are true "clay" courts. Also a hard find in St. Louis as they are harder to maintain. If you like French open tennis then check these clay courts out! No grass courts however. On the top lawn they have a small croquet pad as well. My kiddos love the swimming pool. Designed for both lap swim and leisure. They have a small kiddie pool just right for toddlers and plenty of covered tables and seating around the pool. Different days of the week they have food specials. Our favorite is the taco Tuesdays! Life guards always on duty.
