I have been seeing Dr. Matos for about 8 years. I have recommended him to many people since then…read more He is not afraid to jump right in and treat a suspected disorder when other doctors hemmed and hawed! When a friend of mine (who was dying from cancer) and couldn't get his medications on time, Dr. Matos drove over an hour to his house to give him an injection. He will do his best to help you.

I have been seeing Dr. Matos for roughly 4 years now. I am also a Mast cell activation disorder…read morepatient and during this time I have had alot of issues as most mast cell people do, which understandably would have tested any doctor's patience. However, under his care, although I still have issues I am most definitely slowly but surely getting better. My last issue was a medication reaction that other doctors had put me on for another diagnosis; Trigeminal Neuralgia. The med that they put me on is well known, especially by pharmacists, who warned me every time I picked up my script to have the potential to speed up the liver thus lowering plasma levels of many other drugs and throwing those unlucky people into withdrawal. Well, unfortunately, that began happening to me and I am also adrenally insufficient and it was draining my hydrocortisone among other meds to such an extent that is was throwing into regular adrenal crisis. Dr Matos was the ONLY doctor that took an honest look at my journals detailing this reaction and understood its potential implications. He is the only doctor I have ever seen that will listen and is even eager to learn something new from his patients whether they are 5 years old to 95 years old! The wait may be longer but this is due to the fact that Dr. Matos was lead to go somewhat more solo as his revolutionary way of listening and taking as much time with clients was completely devalued in other mainstream institutions. He also is willing to hire people, may times single mothers who are also struggling with MCAS and might need an understanding boss if perhaps some days they may not be able to make it in for health reasons, so some days he has to do it all. Bottom line, this is a caring and empathetic doctor who is also extremely knowledgable not just about MCAS but about allergy/immunology and many other aspects of healthcare. And he is also most definitely an out of the box thinker. I truly believe he has saved during what has been one of the most difficult times of my life. And I am not the only one to say this, I know of another woman who drives from Florida to see him. Id follow Dr Matos anywhere as well, I shiver to think what things may have been like for me the past few years had I not found him. So for that thankyou Dr Matos for everything you are doing for Mast Cell and allergy patients everywhere.

Everyone I dealt with today during my visit for allergy testing was superb! Loved Dr. Eapen and all…read morethe rest of the staff was very caring and super nice. Highly recommend if you need help with allergies/asthma.

I called the receptionist multiple times before my granddaughter's appointment on 6/16 at 4:15pm to…read moreverify that the appointment had not been cancelled, since this was the 5th or 6th reschedule the mother had made and that I would be allowed to attend the appointment, since I live in Bedford, since I hold joint custody of my granddaughter. I was assured that I could go into the treatment room during the evaluation, before I drove there from Bedford. I warned them of how rudely the mother had treated me at other appointments and how the other medical institutions had handled her rude and vulgar behavior, to prepare them. Once arriving there, they would not allow me to go into the treatment room which caused yet another cancellation, the mother cussed me using vulgar language and started pushing me in front of my 7 year-old granddaughter. I told the staff that she was assaulting me and asked for help, I was told no one could help me so I asked them to call the police, since no one there would assist me in any way to stop her brutality. Once the policeman arrived I did not appreciate the office staff lying to the officer and telling him I had pushed her as well when I never touched her and I even held my arms straight out to prove that she was the one assaulting me and I never laid a hand on her or used any vulgar language like she did in front of my 7 year-old granddaughter. All I did was hug and kiss my granddaughter and told her that I loved her. Instead of reprimanding the mother, as they should have done, I was asked to leave when I had done nothing wrong. I hope there is a camera in the front office to prove my innocence so that hopefully I will be given the apology I feel is owed to me by the office staff, after they wasted my time, gas, and utterly humiliated me in the front office in front of other patients and in front of the police officer. The doctor there is fantastic, but the staff definitely needs to be retrained on how to handle a hostile person when they are pushing a disabled person who has already had 3 lung collapses which resulted in me loosing 40% of my left lung and been warned that any blows to my chest region could result in another lung collapse. They put my health and life in jeopardy, then treated me like I was the trouble maker, when the mother was the only one causing any problems. Something needs to be done to correct the horrible mistake made by their office staff, especially since I have been the one bringing my granddaughter to all of her previous appointments without any incidents at the Lynchburg office, which has a wonderful office staff. I don't usually like to post negative reviews but I felt this issue needed to be addressed, to hopefully avoid any more issues at the Roanoke (Franklin Road) location.
