After claiming that they fixed our roof leak by replacing the vent, our leak got worse. They came out to take a look and told us we would be contacted and they would set up an appointment to stop the leak. After not hearing back for one week, we called again and were told that their manager was on vacation and would contact us shortly.After another 2 weeks with no reply we called one more time & we're told that their manager would certainly respond.. Waited another week and asked why there was no followup call. We got the feeling that they have no interest in making good on their so called work guarantee. Stay away. We lost a number of shingles during Milton on our 11month old, expensive new roof. It has been over a month and Curry hasn't even been out to look at it. It is under warranty, so they don't want to deal with it, in my opinion. More money to be made elsewhere in this market, I suppose. They made their money off of us and moved on. We are in LWR, so we are far enough inland where the wind was less severe than right on the coast during Milton. I would not have expected to lose multiple shingles (50yr GAF UHDZ) during the storm with a new roof. Unfortuntaley, here we are and I cant get any response from Roofing By Curry. All they have to do is call us back and let us know we are on their schedule....but it has been radio silence. If you need a new roof, I would look elsewhere. read more

The way it joined the tile roof needed to be corrected, as part of the flat roof job replacement. Really disappointing The job was essentially unsupervised, with the "supervisor" showing up maybe 2 full days and no-showing when he promised he'd be there. The price was incredibly high, which is so inappropriate right after a hurricane. They added an incredible amount of surcharges after the job. For example, they wanted over $100 per piece of plywood (normally $25 each) and 10 hours at $150/man hour to watch another company do its work. There was a leak in the middle of the job that the supervisor tried to fix by spraying bleach onto the ceiling which failed and over sprayed onto a wall. There was no plan for where they put the vents, the crew didn't speak English and couldn't explain it, and by the time the supervisor showed up, it was too late to change. The finishes were sloppy - I had to re-do some of the flashing myself to neaten it up. Then, as a parting gift, our yard was littered with nails and debris that, weeks later, I'm still picking up. The whole experience was such a bummer. read more

I have left several messages for her and she refuses to return the call. Had to escalate the matter to a supervisor for just a simple phone call to state that she received my message. When she finally returned my call after my complaint she sounded very irritated and was condescending. She states because I didn't have a roof leak ,My call was not "as important ". It only takes 30 seconds to call someone back and say I received your message and I'll return your call as soon as I can after, I have completed all the urgent matters. I am a physician and we call every patients back within 24 hours or less because everyone's call is important. She is NOT customer friendly gives the company about reputation. Use a different roofer! We spent thousands of dollars to repair a roof in Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club. The repair lasted all of 7 weeks before opening up again. The worst part is it was warrantied for one year. Despite the leak causing lots of damage in the house they have still not found the time to come repair their repair. I was told it was a job in progress and you should not judge a Rolls Royce before completion. I have since asked if the roof was completed. The answer is yes. The same concerns are still present. Ordered a new barrel tile roof in Feb. Start date mid June received email on schedule in May. Called mid June no immediate return call but 3 days later a Mgr called said another 7 weeks. Six months now, raining season, they were 2nd highest bidder and now stuck. Comments from manager who said we're sorry but you will be satisfied when we complete. We had a roof leak fixed by Curry 2 years ago. Heavy rain last week caused leak again. Had them out to give estimate for repair and as a possibility based on roof condition, requested cost for roof repair. Next day received a quote for a new roof but did NOT receive report on condition of roof or an estimate for repair. I have requested the estimate 3 times from Craig but have not had a call or an estimate sent to me. If he was unable to provide, I thought someone else would send us one. I contracted with this company in February 2022 for roof replacement. On February 14, I gave them a $3600 deposit to begin the roof job on April 11. I was assured that the roofing materials (common ones, no special order) would be available. I have another Sarasota roofing company lined up (who I interviewed back in February too)and the new company is baffled by my questions of "how's the supply chain for materials". I'll update this review once my new roof is completed. Update from Customer on owners response- apparently, ISO board taper material is your "shortage". Only a small portion of my roof is flat and needed the taper material. Your company has the shingles and other materials needed for the rest of my roof project. I suggested coming out to secure my roof and doing the shingle portion first (since that is the leaking issue) and coming back later to do the flat portion once the ISO taper board comes in for the flat portion (which is secure now and could wait) but too inconvenient for you to come twice and take care of the customer's needs. I only suggested curry come twice once I'd already waited for 2 months. But poor customer service there too. Still awaiting my deposit refund. read more

I called Craig (the inspector) and then texted him, requesting a a callback, but he never called me or texted me back. That lack of response cost him a job. We live in Sarasota, Fl and recently had our flat roof replaced by Roofing by Curry. From beginning to end the job was perfect. We had at least 10 estimates by other roofers, and Curry came out on top. Their pricing was good, the job done in 3 days, the warranty is the best, and the wind MIT inspection was included. We had questions on a couple of items when the job was completed and Jose the supervisor came out immediately, addressed the issue and had the work completed immediately. We live in Venice, just south of Sarasota and received some damage to our clay tile roof. CURRY was supposed to be the "best" and "most professional" roofer in the county. But in reality.....we haven't even received the courtesy of a response after a month and a half of constant inquiry to their office. I give (1) star because TODAY, my lucky day, I got through to an outside answering service. CURRY doesn't even answer their phones! All of the positive ratings about this company are either outdated or convoluted. There is no way you could have a positive experience with a company when they don't return a phone call or e-mail for an appointment schedule that you are FORCED to make (via e-mail )so they can get back to you when it it s convenient for THEM. I have been calling and e-mailing messages for over a month and thought I would give this a last shot because we are interested in replacing our roof with a Tesla solar roof system. Also left the message (on several occasions) that this was the way we wanted to go. An expensive investment for the future that again, CURRY has no time to provide the professional response after (5) attempts following THEIR scheduling protocol. Contacting this company is a total waste of your time, they do not respond. I finally reached an outside "answering service" that was honest enough to admit that Curry is in over their head. They make very nice commercials that misrepresent their actual response protocol. The positivity in the "Why Worry" pitch over and over is even more aggravating to be bombarded with while they ignore your request for service until it is convenient for them. The evasive techniques used to control the customer are totally unprofessional. My extra considerate experience to contact CURRY in follow-up for our home has been A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME contacting this company. I provided the scheduled time to my tenant and she stayed home from work to meet the roofer. No one ever showed up and I never received a call to let me know if they needed to reschedule. This is a review I hoped I didn't have to write but potential customers need to hear this. Do NOT call this company and ask for a bid unless you are doing a complete roof repair or replacement. They don't care and don't want your business. Here are the facts. My roof had two tiles that had slid down and numerous cracked tiles. I figured this would be a small job and decided to only call one company, which was Curry. I called on June 4th and left a message as no one answered. I never received a follow up call. On June 15th I called again and this time spoke to a staff member. I informed them of my problems and was told that someone would get back to me. At this point I grew suspicious of the company and decided to call two other roofing companies as I did not feel confidant about them being interested in my small job. On June 18th I received a call stating that either Clayton or Joy would eventually get back to me regarding this request for service. During the next 10 days, I had two companies respond and show up on time and give me a bid. Curry was not one of them. I did receive a call from Clayton, an estimator, who told me he would stop by and walk my roof, and asked that he be put on the gate (permission to enter my private community). I did that and was alerted that Curry had in fact come to my gated community and was allowed access but did not walk my roof. On June 28, I finally tracked down Clayton (no, he never called) and he told me that when he arrived on site, there was already another company walking my roof and he drove off. Clayton went on to say that this type of small job is not worth the company's time or effort. Clayton went on to say that the company had to change their business model so as not to waste time on small projects. They did come up with a flat rate fee of $280 for repair of less than 10 tiles. (I would digress into yet another call I made to Curry when I spoke with office staff who was so clueless, but that's a whole other review!) After receiving all of the information from two other companies who actually showed up and bid, I called Clayton directly to determine if Curry would come out and do this small job. He never returned my voice messages. One can hope that when this economy slows down, and it will, that Curry and Company lose business to the point that they go out of business. This was as bad as a customer can be treated. I called Curry because they were the original installers of the roof, and assumed they would know best how to repair it. I was wrong. Do NOT give your business to them. Go elsewhere, unless you like being given the runaround. read more

My husband and I built a new house in Osprey in late 2017. Earlier this month we noticed a wet patch in the garage ceiling. We called our builder who immediately contacted Roofing by Curry, the company who installed the roof. The SAME day, we were contacted by Curry and an appointment was made for the technician to come out quickly. Eduardo Maldonado and Tahel Penaloza arrived at our home, on time (unbelievably) and quickly diagnosed the problem. Both technicians were knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They answered all our questions and then fixed the roof. Within a week of my call, everything was complete. We are so happy with Curry and our two technicians. I called curry for an estimate on a new roof,I told them to be careful because there were soft spots and that the flat roof is really soft and need new shearing.I got the proposal and talked to Charlie to discuss the estimate.I asked her if the shearing on the flat roof was included and she told me it was because they were adding pitch to the flat roof for better run off.They sent me pictures of the progress and plywood that needed replaced.Once the job was done I was hit with. 6000.00 up charge for 57 sheets of plywood and stringers.The flat roof was not included in original even though Charlie said it was.The pictures only show 38 sheets being replaced.Im not sure why they feel they can take advantage of people. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This is a highly dishonest company. They bid my roof at $11,400, and I agreed to have them replace my roof. Never once was I told there would be / could be additional charges at the end of the job. They sent me a contract via electronic signing that said total price $11,400 at the bottom. When the job was complete and paid for, I was sent an additional invoice for over $2,500 in additional charges for wood. I was NEVER talked to about these costs before accepting the bid, or while the work was being done. I never saw photos of rotten wood. Then, when I told the company that I didn't think this was right or fair, they had multiple reps call me with threats, called me names, etc. You should explain the potential for extra costs, not unethically trick people with a huge additional bill at the end of the job. Now they have put a lien on my house, because the job that I was told would be $11,400 (and I paid) was billed at $14,000 and I haven't paid the amount they are trying to extort (more than 20% over bid). Steer clear of this dishonest, unethical company. read more

Needed a roof repair and dreaded calling roofers due to nightmare stories. My fears were quickly set aside in their professional and current estimating technology. A reasonable price was quickly presented and accepted with slight trepidation on my behalf. A start date was established, but were here a week before agreed date to start.
