There was no way I was going to have it ready for the first day of school or even done in a way that I would love. I called Brackens Painting and Kevin met me, provided me a very reasonable quote (as I was paying for the painting out of my own pocket), and was able to find one of his crew members that could have it done immediately (a lucky thing as they are usually booked out three weeks at least - thank you Mother Nature for the thunderstorms that opened DJ's schedule). DJ did an amazing job, was great to talk to, and played some amazing music while he worked. :) He took great pride in his work and customer satisfaction was key. He did not leave until I was satisfied. I can't wait to decorate for the new school year and spend the next portion of my career in this room. As you can see from the before and after pictures, the room is fresh and bright. The shadows and lighting with the original paint just made the room dark. Brackens Painting is now my go to painting company and I would highly recommend them. Not only are they an amazing company, but they are active members of our own little community. I had two coats of paint put on one level of my home, and the crew was out of my home by three in the afternoon. it was a pure mess. The brothers got off easy with me. they are pure BS. Nice family pics that they put out on FB though. Easy living. It looks like the think that they deserve it.

Avoid Emerson Paints--Unreliable & Dishonest…read more I fell for their Instagram ad, and from there it was all downhill: aggressive calls, missed communication, bait-and-switch subcontracting, and a rep who literally walked into my house without knocking. The crew that actually did the painting? Wonderful. But they weren't Emerson--they were a subcontractor I was never even told about. Emerson overcharged, underdelivered, and ghosted me the second payment was secured. They'll make promises. They'll make excuses. They don't care about you. They care about your money. Do yourself a favor: skip the stress and go elsewhere.

After numerous texts and phone calls, we finally hear from him on June 15th. He stated that he had to take his daughter to college and would start the next week. After this horrible start, it actually gets worse. Not showing up, leaving early (never coming back after lunch) taking other jobs and not working on ours. I finally fired him, we he did not show up for 2 days after saying he would. He stated that he had a family emergency, when really, he was working on another home. As of 08/06/2019, he has a cease and desist letter from the state of WV and is not allowed to work in the state. He has not had a license in the state since 2010.
