Similar to the other negative review, they quoted me one price for a watch servicing and engraving ($898) and then tried to charge me close to double that ($1,498) upon pickup. Thankfully, I had evidence of the original quote in writing. Borderline fraudulent / criminal, and at the very least untrustworthy - the last thing you want from a high end jeweler. I'm giving this store two stars because the initial woman who helped me was friendly. I don't understand how it is so difficult to have a watchband resized in a meaningful timeframe. When I called to see when the watch would be ready, the associate (owner's son) told me that he could have it ready in 30 minutes. Since I was unable to come at that time, I told him that I would be back the next day. Upon just stepping into the store, the owner with a very smug attitude, gave me a look and posture like I was mistaken for being in his shop to ask about my watch. The watch has not been touched, it had just been sitting there when it should have been ready for pick up. I am not only displeased with the lack of service, I am displeased with being treated as if I didn't belong in the jewelry shop in the first place. I would not recommend Rober's. For whatever reason, it is difficult to find anyone in this industry who is able to do simple work in a timely manner. My solution, like a good American, is to do it myself. I am also displeased that I had to search on Google to find a reputable shop that could repair my watch and this stored showed as a good business. Rober's is not a good recommendation and the owner needs to adjust his domineering posture to one of kindness and support of his customers. read more

I needed a clasp repaired on a Tiffany silver (and sentimental) bracelet. Mr. Robere quoted me a price of $35. He also cleaned my wedding ring while I watched, which was very commendable. When i came in to get my bracelet, the price was $75 and i was very upset. The salesperson showed me that the clasp cost $65 and that $10 was labor, but she took off the labor cost. I was one block away and she called me and asked me to please come back because Mr. Robere wanted to honor the quoted price. Not only am I grateful, but I applaud his honesty. Sadly I had a terrible experience at this store. Quoted me one price then doubled it when I finally got my product. Promised me my items would take a month to make and they took 8 months to make. Did not return the jewelry I asked for back. Still stating they are looking a year later. Did not offer any solution except they are still looking and this has never happened before.
