My only issue was the heavy meds they prescribe as a matter of course. Another friend mentioned that too. I did not need the oxy pills and I never intended to take them, which I did not. The second time, I had gum grafting done. Again, during the surgery, Dr Di was very caring and professional. My follow up appointment was about six weeks later, and I still was having lots of discomfort and had another adjacent tooth that was numb. That was a very difficult appointment, not because of the doctor, but because of rough handling by the two assistants. I also have never regained normal feeling in the roof of my mouth (the donor tissue site), and it has now been over two years. I was told after the surgery it might take up to a year a year for the nerves to heal. I wish there had been more review of possible complications and negative potential outcomes before surgery. I don't recall seeing an informed consent form or discussing that with anyone on the team.

Fast forward, my wife and I moved to the Annapolis area a few years ago and we had to find all new doctors. Dr. Miele was recommended to my wife to do a complex procedure that should have been quite painful, but my wife told me that Dr. Miele performed magic, as her procedure was painless and perfect. Dr. Miele sets the bar to the top as an incredibly warm, compassionate and extremely professional doctor. I think the warm and compassionate traits are somewhat rare in the medical field, my wife and I are truly lucky to have found Dr. Miele. Now, to my procedure, magic! Yep, that's about all I can say. It was the second to the back, top tooth, close to my sinus and tricky to extract without any complications. Dr. Miele, again, demonstrated warmth and compassion, while being a top doctor in her field. These are a lot of words to say that my wife and I recommend Dr. Miele, if we could give 15 out of 10 starts we would. This caused a lot of anxiety and hadn't been to the back to the dentist since until today. As for the 5-6 others, it has been 8yrs, I finally just went back. I have only 1 small cavity now that just started to form. Get a copy of your X rays and get a second opinion. There are online services that do that now. A couple of months before that I turned to Dr Sheen for help with my dentures (or what I had in my mouth instead). He worked on me for about three months, taking pictures, impressions, measuring and designing new dentures for me. He was not satisfied with the first two sets of dentures done and only the third one made him happy. And me? I remember of my dentures only two times a day - in the morning and evening. I don't need denture adhesives and I am not afraid of laughing before people. The result of his work is that of an artist indeed. I called at 3:22 saying i was on my way and told the girl where I was coming from. Didn't think I had to tell her it would be about 30 minutes. She said no worries they understand people have jobs. I pulled into the parking lot at 3:51 and was called on my cell and told I had to reschedule because they only give a 15 minute window. I was on time for my appt. I could have filled out the paperwork after the appt or had they emailed me the paperwork, I could have brought them with me. Anyway, I told her I was in the parking lot and wasn't going to reschedule. I asked her why she didn't tell me about the 15 minute period when I called earlier and she said she did. She did not! I told her I'd go elsewhere. I took time off from work to make the appt. About 20 minutes later i called back and nobody answered. I called right back and when a lady answered I asked for the manager and she said she was. I told her my story and she apologized and said she didn't know that had happened and they don't have a 15 minute window. I told her I had no interest in the practice and hope they fix their issues.

I would not recommend this practice. I had been going for several years without issue until I got a…read morefilling and a bill over $500 for charges that I was not made aware of and could not be submitted to insurance. When I raised the issue, I was told I'd need to speak with the office manager, Holly. This is where the terrible customer service came in. She argued with me and called me a liar (that I was not told of the charges). In the end, they did realize it was their error and that I was supposed to get some sort of consent form for the process and following charges but that never happened. I ended up escalating to the dentist and they did refund me. However, Holly then cancelled my appt 6 months later on the day of the appointment and I was cancelled as a client. This all just seems so petty and she was actually horrible to deal with. If this is the representative of their offices, that's a really bad look. I would never recommend this practice as long as she is there.
