Dr. Shaikh's so personable, caring, a great dentist, efficient, skilled, strong & smart. There's a running theme in the way Dr. S manages her practice as it's run with long time, dedicated, kind employees. Brandon, the hygienist, I give tons of praise to! He does our whole family's cleanings. He's patient, very dedicated to his craft, gentle, he gets all the junk out & is thorough. I have a small mouth, so chickens out there, he's very gentle. My oral hygiene improved after he started doing my cleanings, as I floss more. They r ok if I don't do X-rays every yr. Prior to him, I had Phyllis do my cleanings for 15+ yrs, she was personal, kind and very thorough w cleanings. Long term office staff, Kathy & Sherrie are top notch, just the best people...kind, patient, understanding, personable, & accurate. We switched our kids from a pediatric dentistry practice down the street and our kids say the cleanings @ Assabet Dental are more thorough and the hygienists pay attention to you (and not to ea other and talk over you). Other practices advertise a lot, but don't treat you like a human as Assabet Dental does.

The dental hygienist was very thorough during my latest cleaning and wore plenty of protective gear, so I felt safe and comfortable. The are now owned by 42 North Dental Care, PLLC practice and this company is owned and operated by dentists Dr. Samuel Shames, DMD. and Dr. Ronald Weissman, DMD. Since they took over all the former dentists are gone and last I knew most of the staff had left. They put crowns on three on implants I had done at an oral surgeons office in December 2023. Last week, 18 months later they sent me a huge bill. A week later I got an automated call asking for me to pay over $2500 right then. This is just one of the most absurd situations I have every been in with a dental office. The doctor that did the crowns, Dr Pabaney, was the worst dentist I have ever had. I only went to them because I was with the practice when I first stared the implant process. Not only was it a total nightmare just getting them to call me back to get an appointment but his chairside miner was rude, he had THE WORST BREATHE OF ANYONE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED and he is supposedly a dentist. Even his dental assistant knew he smelled, the look on her face was a look of horror, even she couldn't take it. Since I've moved to the area there are so many other dentists office that you have to go anyplace else. Also, look for who the owners are, if they have anything to do with 42 North Dental Care, PLLC stay away.

Also, I now most likely will have to pay out of pocket for the fillings to be redone due to them needing to be redone only 3 months after they initially were done. Very much like others(Whom have commented) the office staff leaves MUCH to be desired. I paid my bill in full for the amount i expected and had been told. That was my last visit in Sept. In February i received a email saying i owed 470.00 for a CT scan. I paid in full what i was told to pay in Sept. I contacted the office and asked why the first i was hearing about this was 5 months later and the response was i owe the money. I told them i paid in full I paid 5500+ on my final visit. Today i received a call from a collection agency saying i had been delinquent since Sept. and payment was due in full. I pay my bills, excellent credit score and to be sent to a collection agency and effect my credit over there shooty billing is a place i would stay far away from. I also will be in touch with my referring dentist. I hope they enjoy the $470.00 dollars as i am hopeful this will help others not get caught in what seems to be a common sneaky pratice.

Her recovery has been good, with no complications to speak of (only two weeks in at time of writing this). So the services provided by Dr. Wardius appear to have met expectations. Unfortunately, the office experience left something to be desired. While a comfortable and soothing ambiance make for nice experience, day of, I was disappointed with poor communication with the office staff around the costs involved. After completing our consult visit and scheduling the surgery I asked for a cost estimate and was presented with expected costs, based on expected insurance coverages. Two weeks later these were updated based on an uncovered service performed at the consult (a CT scan), and I was provided what I understood to be final numbers (assuming that nothing would change during the procedure that would require additional services or coverage-wise from insurance). On the day of the procedure, everything proceeds as expected. No additional services needed or performed and payment requested matches the estimate I had been provided. Two weeks later I am now being charged for a service (the CT scan) that was supposed to have already been accounted for, as I was told that it had been, two weeks prior to the procedure. But they are telling me that I mis-read the email when they said "The balance was added to the patient account." If so, that estimate should reflect that amount. When a customer is quoted a price for promised services to be rendered, and those exact services are what is completed, then that price shouldn't change after the fact. Trying to discuss this with the office manager was the final straw as she was more interested in expediting the call, crossing it off her to-do list and getting off the phone than to honestly hear the concern and frustration that a client had with their experience. This "problem customer" as I am sure to be referenced as behind their closed doors, could have been a learning experience for the team so that they could better understand how to service their customer's needs. Instead it was so much more transactional and disappointing. I will be sure to pass this experience back to the original referring office and to find another practice for my son when he is due up in the coming years.

And the fact that at first he was okay with very limited X-rays and then the next appointment he wasn't and was much more aggressive... tells me it was more about the money and not really that something could go horribly and inexplicably wrong without X-rays. Our family feels very welcoming with the FDC family. They have had very little office turnover. There office admin Lexi retired. I have had the same hygenist for the past 8 years. My kids have had the same hygenist as well. The FDC team does a thorough job and makes the visit to the dentists office an OK experience. The kids have had teeth pulled, fillings, etc and have never had a problem. They have heard harrowing experiences of other dentists by their classmates but to them, its no big deal. I highly recommend this practice and welcome you and your family to become part of the FDC family.
