I have been going to New England Dental for 4 years and for the first time in my life I don't dread going to the dentist. They have the most up-to-date facilities in the exam rooms and the waiting areas - iPads in reception! The staff greets me by name and goes out of their way to make me comfortable. I am a former patient of this practice; I left for several different reasons. Mostly because the care I received declined significantly. I never saw the same Dentist and the frequent changes in front office staff was also disruptive for me and my family. Unfortunately, two of my family members are still patients there, and they continue to be very difficult to work with. The most recent issue has been with my younger child who needs, per their recommendation, to have wisdom teeth removed, so when I made an appointment with an outside Oral Surgeon that we have great experience with in the past, they refused to send any of his records to the Oral Surgeon's office, which I have been told is not uncommon for this dental practice. read more

We made an appointment for my daughter for an extraction and filling. I had the text confirming. My daughter and I showed up, after I rearranged our day, for this appointment for them. We show up and they told us our appointment had been canceled and they had no time for her. No one called us or texted us. Extremely unacceptable. They were super rude and I asked to speak with someone and they offered zero help. We will definitely be switching dentists ASAP! I HATE dentists. I DO. But you can't hate these guys with a lot of technology to make the work as precise as possible and work as fast and as professionally as possible. Crown in an hour? Yea. Dr. Basha is mindful and has great "bedside" manners. I still hate the dentist. But not these guys. You HAVE to take care of your teeth, so we can't get rid of dentists. Although New England Dental group has great quality staff and dentists, I would not recommend them for dental work because they have unethical business practices. I went in for a wisdom tooth extraction on a Tuesday. I was told I would get a quote on Friday. I did not get the quote on Friday, but I requested it on Monday when they called to confirm my appointment. I was verbally told that the procedure would cost about $600, after insurance. When I went in on Tuesday, I never received a copy of the quote. I went in for the extraction, all went well. When I sat down to be billed, I was told I owed about $1,100. They explained that maybe the person on the phone misread the quote. Then, I was told I received a more expensive procedure with a specialist. I was not given an updated quote or even told I was receiving a more expensive procedure. They did apologize and I understand that mistakes do happen. My mouth became infected after the surgery on a Saturday when the office was closed. I was never given instructions on what to do incase I had an infection. I found their 'emergency' dentist number, but I did not get a response for over 24 hours. Regardless of their explanation, New England Dental group should have practices in place to ensure this does not happen. I hope this has not happened to other patients. I feel welcomed everytime I come in and even in this type of environment (COVID19) the staff here are very courteous and always looking for our best interests. I felt like I had a complete bait and switch today and I've been fuming since my appointment. I was told during my last visit I may need a root canal. Since I have perio issues, they wanted me to see their perio guy to decide whether or not I could have a root canal on that tooth. I meet the guy today for two minutes. He measured my pockets and said he would let the Endodontist decide. I tell him, I'm confused, the only reason I have this appointment is for you to decide treatment. He repeated the Endodontist would make the decision. His assistant could see I was pissed so she said the Endodontist can review my X-ray and they can call me. Of course I'm thinking, why did you not do this to begin with since perio guy was deferring anyway! My mom is in the lobby and I had to take her to Logan or I just would've spoken with someone in the office. I was charged $128 for literally NOTHING! It was a complete waste of my time and money. Be careful as this just seems shady at best and I feel like they are always try to sell another procedure. For background I currently have a perio and was thinking of changing to their office - obviously, I will not be doing that. read more

LIke others have mentioned on here. They suggest procedures that aren't required so that they can profit. I went here back in 2011 and was kind of shocked by how nice it looked - they have ipads in the customer lobby for customers to use while you wait. I was honestly suspicious due to how lavish the place seemed. Anyways they suggested that I needed one onlay and 5 fillings possibly six but they wouldn't know until they looked closer. I fortunately worked with a dentist in my past job and shared my concerns. I got NEDG to send me my x-rays and then had my dentist friend review them. EXACTLY as I expected - she told me that I did not need any onlays and was only advised to get one for the money and less fillings than they suggested. I have now yet to go back to a dentist and need to find a new one ASAP as it has been so long. RUN - don't walk unless you want to line the pockets of these people. read more

I can't say enough about New England Dental, both at the Marlborough and at the Southborough locations. All the services you're likely to need under one roof (or at worst, at the other nearby location). Friendly and exceptionally competent staff, from the dentists, to the hygienists, to the front office staff and the account specialists. My family and I moved to the area a year and a half ago and we've all been very happy customers! This past week I had a dental emergency but was stuck in traffic and unable to get there before closing. They told me to come anyways, and were waiting to take care of me even after hours. I have been going there since they opened around 2000 or so when Dr P actually cleaned your teeth and GT was at the front desk. I have had great experiences w them. Very efficient and easy to schedule an appt. Whenever I had an issue with service GT was very very attentive and tried to make it right. Still a client and so is my wife and my son. One of the worst customer services I've ever experienced !!! When I first set up the visiting, I asked if they accept my insurance (if my insurance covers their service). All YES for my questions and I got services. Couple months later, sent me the bill without any coverage. They were not in network provider but they didn't clarify even for my question. I asked this issue many times and always got request from them to wait until they resolve the issue. It was last year Nov-Dec. Recently they sent this case to a collection agent without a single discussion with me. I wanted to negotiate the payment (I was willing to pay at least half), but very small cut-down the fee and no cancellation of the request to the collection agent. Almost very serious insulting to me. I may have to get my lawyer involved this case. read more

Unfortunately, this is the first negative review I've ever had to write, but this experience was unbelievable! I do not recommend, New England Dental Group in Marlborough. Though the dentist may be okay, the office staff left little to be desired, starting with the office manager who was extremely rude, condescending, and contemptuous. Not only did she refer to me disrespectfully as a "girl" (I'm probably older than her}; but she also said, "You need to take care of yourself, because WE only care for people who take care of themselves!" She made it very clear that I was not going to be serviced in that office then or ever. At that point, I decided to leave!!! No one should "pay" to be mistreated or disrespected. Angela You asked me to call you, but while I call you, I can never reach you. You never call back. Blame on Insurance is not a way to show you are correct. As a matter of fact, I call 2ndary insurance company, they said you never submitted this 11/23/2011 bills to them within a year, at that time my primary MetLife Insurance had reached the maximum allowed. If you did not submit it, how can you blame on Delta MA? In this case, Delta MA should have paid the amount for sure. Due to your mistake did not submit on time, you bill it to me? I paid premium to 2 companies to have 2 insurance, but you did not even submit to them, you said its Insurance Company's fault? Katherine was that one I last spoke to, she said Dr. P. never charged me since it is a tool surface fall off related. However, I verified with her that you have charged my MetLife Dental $240, they paid $180, then since the Delta MA found this is a duplicated work rejected to pay the rest. You then bill me again. From no charge at all by your Dr. P. to charge out network Insurance MetLife $240, for which Delta MA (that is part of your PDP), only allows $130 on the procedure. Even you got $180 for something you told me did not charge, and much more than network PDP allowed, now it is still not enough, you bill me the differnce after MetLife had paid. You greediness has not reached an end. You want to continue on doing this to me and my insurance companies? There are so many Dentists that is within MetLife network which can maximize my plans, why should I not to select a one within the network? As far as you keep say one thing, doing another, time will tell. You told me I was all set I waited three month to confirm with you again, but when I get in, you just grabbed me and did so much work possible, full mouth X-Ray, a few thousands treatment plans, said my tooth will crash to pieces if I do not do it,... It just too much lies, and there will not be another time with you. My insurance company can tell you that you have not submitted the bill of 11/23/2011 and I do not think I should be responsible for if you do not do your work. Since you did not submit it on time, then I did not even know it until recently when I went through all the claims and payment for past few years, I called insurance company, then I found this out. I told Katherine all of those, she supposed to get back to me, but never did - here again you still send me the same bill. So, I do not have any issue with paying any bill before, I do not know how can a business's billing should be so messy, and not convencing, and appears never a responsible answer no matter what. Lots of financial people but no one does a correct work. We had been told no upfront treatment plans, afterwards, we were facing the bill due to Insurance company does not cover it. There were emergence time issues too, Angela delayed a noticeable then. I agree with all other reviews with 1 star. Indeed, moral standard is the key to any business; customers should be treated with a financial billing that works. You did not submit my claim within a year? I have been a patient for 6 plus years. I had a dental emergency that needed immediate attention and emailed New England Dental as I was traveling. I received an email back stating that the doctor would call me the next day to discuss treatment. I never heard from the doctor so I sent another email with no response this time from the patient coordinator. I called the office and was told the patient coordinator would be in the office in about an hour and she would call me immediately when she arrived. I asked to speak with the doctor and was told she went on vacation. Five days have passed with still no response from anyone at the New England Dental Group. Guess it's time to find a more attentive dental office. WOW!! Advertised price on dental implant listed online is misleading. Actual treatment plan price after spending $150 there on a "scan interpretation" so they could prepare plan was much higher than the $2999 listed. When I asked office manager about this, she said she didn't know I was there for internet price, and that implant would be done by doctor I saw, not an implant specialist. What??? She revised treatment plan estimate downward, but it was still quite a bit higher than advertised price...manager said price varied depending on tooth. In short, I did not like the misleading advertising, change in pricing, and I had no confidence after that...I never returned. Southboro office is the way to go! Delmira is the best! She is so great, I have been going for twelve years now. I have to admit the change in staff in the Marlboro office isn't so great, Delmira has moved to the southboro office, but if you are there when Dr. Pananjoti and Justine are there you are in for a treat! I have never felt my teeth were more cared for. I am always asking questions and they give great suggestions and extensive answers. I recommend Trisha for cleanings, she takes such good care in cleaning my teeth, I feel she cares about them as much as I do. Overall I fell the care from specifically this staff if far above exceptional. I cannot speak for many of the other staff as I have been seeing Trisha, Dr. Pananjoti and Justine for the last twelve years and I would never want to try anyone else. The only downside is going to the dentist is it can be expensive... but if Trisha, Justine or Dr. Pananjoti care for you, you will feel it's worth it. They have fixed my crooked teeth and I am more confident, and smile way more than I ever did before I came here. read more

This is a very money hungry practice. I had been seeing a dentist regularly, but switched for their weekend hours. At the first appointment they said I had 5 cavities and needed a root canal STAT. They threatened me that if I did not do the root canal in 48 hours my tooth would break and need to be extracted. I had no pain or problems with that tooth, so I sort a second opinion who recommended a filling. I have decided to return to my previous dentist and they charged me $40 for my records. However, when the envelope arrived they only send 3 pages with x-rays. No other records from my 3 visits with them. You may think they are all top of the line but be warned they are money hungry and lack customer service. They NEVER return your call or follow through on what they say. Don't take what they say at face value and shop around on prices. They are WAY OUT OF THE BALLPARK ON PRICE. read more

I just had the worst interaction that I have ever experienced with a medical professional. Dr. Ghazwan Ghazi was brusque, rude and insensitive. The dental assistants were stunned by his behavior. He saw me 15 minutes late for the appointment, did not apologize, barely introduced himself and began administering a painful examination. When I told him that he was inflicting pain, he said he was not, that he was merely probing my gums. I asked that he try to be more gentle, and he said that was not possible given that I had gum disease. I grabbed my coat and left, and he responded, "Don't ever come back." read more

I've been with NE Dental for ten years. They're fantastic. The staff is thorough, the dentists are professional and caring. They referred me to a great endodontist and the surgeon who performed my gum grafting was top notch. They're up to date with equipment and technology. The one drawback is that TV's are always on, while you wait and during procedures. At times I've felt that my dentist doesn't pay as much attention to me as she does the TV. read more

My parents were visiting from out of town this weekend, and during their drive my dad started to suffer some bad tooth pain. My mom called around noon on Friday and asked if I knew of a local dentist that my dad could see. Realizing that it was the Friday before Labor Day weekend, I knew it would be tough to find an emergency appointment for him. I called at least 5 places that were either closed or were unable to take him. Then I stumbled on New England Dental Group. The woman I spoke with on the phone was extremely helpful and sympathetic. They got my dad in later that afternoon and he was thrilled with the entire experience. Everyone was very friendly, they provided refreshments while he waited (even offering him a container of water for their dog in the car), and most importantly the dental sevice was excellent. He's here now enjoying the holiday weekend without any pain, and I'm very thankful to New England Dental Group for their excellent service. read more

I am honestly shocked to read the negative reviews of this dental group below. Perhaps they took these reviews to heart and changed their training and approach? My experiences have been universally positive with this group. The team is truly a team - they all work together, without the ego issues you sometimes see. They carefully explain what is going on and what options you have, make their professional recommendations, and do not pressure you to one way or another. They have tried to save me money repeatedly; sometimes by waiting to see if a problem would resolve; sometimes by using my dental and medical insurance in ways I wasn't aware were an option; sometimes by delaying non-urgent procedures until the New Year, etc. It is very useful having the dentist, orthodontist, periodontist, surgeon all in the same practice - they consult with each other and really understand what is going on with your teeth. They are friendly and go out of the way - for example, my husband was in severe pain, and they all stayed late until he arrived and took their time helping him after hours. The surgeon even gave me his cell phone in case I needed to ask him any questions after my gum grafting procedure. They listen to all my concerns and are very kind to my kids. They do have new techniques, products, and technologies that are cutting edge and incredibly helpful. I am so sorry to read about people's past negative experiences; I started here about a year and a half ago, and it's been the best experience I've ever had in dentistry (my past experiences were also positive, but this is really the best I've experienced). The technicians and doctors are all very competent in what they say and do, and service is quick and efficient. The only problem that I've had is that I feel that their billing service people try to stick you with as much of the cost for their procedures as they can get away with. Healthcare should be a right, NOT a privilege; and at most the patient should pay a lightly nominal fee as more of an acknowlegement of good service rather than be burdened by being deliberately gouged for excess costs. read more

I don't usually write negative reviews unless I have a VERY bad experience with a business. I think this is only my second negative review in 3 years of using Yelp. Anyway, I'd caution people from using this practice because greed and the almighty dollar seem to drive their recommendations and extensive treatment plans for their patients. They do have lots of nice technology, and the quality of the dentistry was fine. However, after my annual consultation, they recommended services and added in charges that seemed suspicious to me. My gut was right: Got a second opinion at another dentist, and he concurred that no dentist should charge a la carte for as many services as they recommended, and some of the services were totally unnecessary. I gave them a chance to work with me on price and maybe eliminating some of the charges, but they took on a self-righteous attitude and refused. To top it all off, they charge you $40 just to get your records. I've never heard of an office charging that much, if anything. That alone is case-in-point about why this business, um, I mean "practice" just does not work. Consider yourself warned. read more

I went to New England Dental Group for Zoom whitening the spring of 2011. The service I received from the dentist and hygienist was Outstanding! And their dental office is very advanced in technology, layout and colors - which seems to be a trend with new dental offices. I know, I've been taking my kids to a few dental and orthodontic consults this year. Inside, it was a calm and serene experience. Dr. Panjini saw me right away and she was very knowledgeable and explained the full procedure very professionally and kindly. She is a very friendly person and I felt at ease right away. Erin, the hygienist who did the whitening procedure, was very gentle, explaining the process before, during and after. She even lowered the overhead lights on my request so I could rest during the process and I had the remote in hand if I wanted to change cable stations. Results were 6-7 shades lighter and I have not had to touch them up in months. I also purchased the touch up tray - highly recommend it. I brought my 3rd grader child who sat in the waiting room for the hour, totally engrossed and patiently playing with the iPads and headphones available for clients to use. My child never came in once to see me in the hr visit! They have a bunch of iPads that have lots of Apps installed so you can swipe to get news and info while you wait. Their coffee table is not cluttered with culture magazines with silly headlines so I didn't have to worry about what my child was absorbing. They service a sophisticated, knowledgable clientele. I liked taking the History online in a private office - very efficient! I read the other Yelpers and was surprised, as the NEDG's dentist and hygienist staff is outstanding. Perhaps it's more billing or reception? My advice - talk with the business mgr about cost prior to your procedure so your expectations are met and it's not a surprise when the bill comes. I knew how much the total cost was going in. I would give the dentists and hygienists 5 stars - and it would be fully deserved. But I did 4, as I remember I did not get a call back to an initial question I had prior to procedure from the receptionist, and remember calling them back 2 times to ensure it was answered. read more
