I spoke to Art about the person in his office who had prepared our taxes and Art plead ignorance on any errors and defended his staff. This year, I enclosed a letter with our tax receipts and paperwork when giving it to him to prepare our taxes, saying that we do not want to get any letters from the IRS this year (unless we hear about it from the firm beforehand)... no surprises. I dropped all of our materials/receipts off at his office on 3/6. Two business days later, UPS delivers everything back to me with a letter from Art saying that he's taken on a company/client for their accounting and tax filings and "won't be able to complete our tax returns this year." Really?? He didn't know this 3 days earlier when I drove 20 miles to drop everything off?? So, I had to scramble to find another accountant 4 weeks before taxes are due. Clearly, he knew about this "new business" days/weeks earlier and chose not to call/write his clients that he can't do their taxes this year (assuming he wasn't singling me out due to the letter I'd written). --- So, in review... Art may be a competent CPA (personally) and he seems like a nice guy... BUT... he has zero communication skills here, apparently hires less-than-competent staff accountants (including a usually-rude receptionist), and has very questionable business practices when it comes to leaving clients high-and-dry without notice. Fortunately, we have found a new CPA... and suggest you look elsewhere for yours.

So now I owe $19,000.00 on top of the $3,900.00. I was in a panic and sent emails, phone calls and messages. They refused to answer my calls, and emails. So I had to call the hair salon next door to find out that they were actually in the office. So I notified the airhead and the owner that I contacted the business next door and they said they can't stand them next door. A lot of clients call the hair salon because they are irresponsible and lazy. They had the nerve to tell me that I have issues because I left so many messages in a weeks time. Not everyone has an extra $20k sitting around. They negligected to file any extensions for personal or business. I owe an extra $3,000.00 because they didn't file an extension for being late. They told me they will not fix my returns and to go somewhere else because I busted them out calling next door. I wouldn't trust these people ever again. I have begged them that I don't have the money and I need my return amended. They will not answer my messages. Run away from these people! You have an imcometant idiot that screens calls and emails. No one is a priority but themselves. They were reported to the IRS. The IRS admitted they were definitely negligent. I'm so stressed out, I don't know where else to turn. I also asked for a refund because they didn't complete my tax returns the correct way. I was told no refund! Best of luck dealing with these incompetent idiots! Back when I used H&R Block I had a new tax preparer every year that seemed clueless and they charged over double for the same service All American provides. I also feel less like number with All American preparing my taxes. Recommend calling either office during busy tax season to check on walk in status. Make sure as with any tax preparation that you bring all of your paperwork to prevent any possible delays. This goes for whomever you have prepare your taxes. This is your personal responsibility to provide all documentation to your tax preparer in order to help provide a timely tax return! I will continue to use All American Tax Service each year to simplify my taxes!
