Great Y to swim! Family centric so low key place to work out or swim nice hot tub! Front desk is friendly to answer your questions.

On multiple occasions the blonde lady at the front desk has been exceptionally rude and condescending. Always trying to waste your time, when I never have a problem with anyone else at the front desk. The steam room is always out of service for multiple weeks at a time. The bathrooms are dirty I never shower here. However, the Pilates classes are good which is why I continue to come here. read more

I have only been a member of this YMCA for about a month, but so far, I have enjoyed it immensely. I have never had to wait for cardio equipment, and I love using the elliptical machines and arc trainers. Childcare has been excellent - my three year-old son never wants to leave. I have enjoyed the yoga and body pump classes, and I look forward to trying group cycling. We are also looking forward to getting our son involved in some sports and swim programs. We are new to the community, and we feel like being a part of the Y is a great way to plug in and meet our neighbors. Pool is never open anymore. Don't join for the indoor pool. A waste of your money. No reason to pay for something you can't use.

I would say this place is like a 2nd home to me. The facilities are clean, classes are good and the staff is helpful. Without going into specifics I would say there are areas for improvement, however, if you bring any particular issues to their attention the director is very quick to fix whatever is wrong and I appreciate that a lot. They have also hired a-lot of new staff SO more positive changes to come! read more

I love my YMCA. We've been members for about six months now and I've never had a bad experience. They have childcare for two hours while the parent does their thing, they have a swimming pool which almost always has a family lane, the equipment is NOT outdated (was that review from 2017 outdated?), the staff is super sweet and helpful, courteous and considerate. And you know what? The other Y members are pretty nice too. If you have a question, ask anyone! Everyone is really nice here. Seriously, this place is fantastic and if you travel a lot, you should definitely get a Y membership because it's good for any YMCA! They're not just a place to work out... you can relax in the sauna or hot tub, grab a book, or bring your computer and get some work done. My son takes swimming lessons here, they have fantastic child care associates, and if something isn't right, they fix it fast. Just check it out. Get a day pass and see what you think. If you dig it, get a referral from a current member and you both save 20%. If you're struggling financially, ask about assistance-- they are seriously there to help and make you a member of a great community. Come out and say hi. Have fun! read more

Have been a member of this Y this year and the staff is very friendly and facility had most of the equipment that I needed. Pool/Sauna was great. However, not too pleased when I left and I was told that I needed to be charged for an additional month... just because that is how is works. Seems to me when you leave a place, you stop paying for that place... just makes sense... watch out on the backside. it might bite you in the backside... read more

I will never put my child in another sport here. They are ridiculous and more expensive than any other sports around. They never start on time and end whenever. Their sports director is just ridiculous incompetent. It was a complete waste of 160 dollars. I will never do it again. I-9 is way better. read more

This is the Y closest to my work, so I alternate between here and the one on Ashford Dunwwody (by my house). First, I love the Y. My boyfriend and I splt the membership costs and I love the access to a pool and the sauna/hot tub/steam room.The people at this location are fantastic. Friendly, helpful, and they always have a smile at the front desk. Unfortunately, it seems the North Suburbs, yuppie, entitled mommy-n-me clubs periodically take over the common areas and locker rooms. I'm not a big fan of children, but I understand the Y is family focused. However, I think it is incredibly rude to allow your 8 wet, loud, screaming chlidren to run around the hallways while you discuss how angry you are at your daughter's girl scout leader (seriously). Also, the perpetual habit of bringing your older son into the women's locker room is highly inappropriate. We get naked in there, dangit. If your child can dress himself, point, speak, and goes to school...do NOT bring him into the women's locker room. There are family locker rooms literally 10 feet away. This alone motivates me to drive south a bit and go to the other Y. Also, mild irritation at the high school boys who take over the free weights for extended periods of time. They act like bratty teenagers, but they can be avoided. All in all, I prefer the other YMCAs (Ashford dunwoody and Webb Bridge). But the staff here is fantastic, so I can't be too irritated. I just wish the staff would impose a few manners on these ridiculous women who think everyone should find their children adorable. read more

I love the Y! It's a family-friendly place to exercise unlike the other local gyms. I love the pool, steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi. One side of the pool has a graduated entry with rails . It's perfect for my toddler to play. The best part about the pool is that it's indoor. I don't have to hassle with sunscreen. The machines are great. I have to agree with the other reviewer about the TV's. It seems like some of them just don't work every time I go in. There is a board that you can put in requests for them to fix. I hope they really take care of them. read more

I've been going to this Y for a few weeks on a family/guest membership while I am in town. It had been years since I'd been to a YMCA, and I'm really impressed.I usually use a treadmill, elliptical or bike, and they are modern and in good working order. There's a handy system to sign up for time on the popular machines, though I haven't had trouble getting on one. I usually go during the day, and that might help. The exercise machines are modern as well. They can get crowded on weekends, but not too bad. I haven't used the free-weights. The stretching/exercise ball/floor exercise area could be a little bigger, but it's not too hard to wait if there's no space. I've also done several yoga classes. They are fun, not too difficult for a novice. I think there's an intermediate one for those more stretchy than myself. There are lots of other classes for people who enjoy group stuff: Zumba, Pilates, etc. I haven't used the pool yet, but it looks clean and inviting. The changing rooms are basic and have lockers. There's a kiddie area with supervision for your toddlers. I don't have any, so not sure how it works, but from outside the window, the kids seem to be having fun in there. There are some tables outside the pool areas to work, chat and socialize. They also have free WiFi! read more

This is a great YMCA. It has all the required cardio, free weights and machines with the addition of steam room, sauna, pool, hot tub, running track. It seems to have less equipment then other Y's, and the free weight area is a little tight. Locker rooms are clean with private showers. Overall a good gym with good equipment and staff. read more

This Y leaves a lot to be desired. The staff are fine, not particularly friendly but not rude in any way. The building is old, which isn't really a fault of the Y, but the facility is dirty and smells really bad. There was food on the floor of the kids rooms, pieces of the ceiling were on the floor, and overall the entire place has a moldy smell. I would never even attempt to shower here, and I'm not confident about using the bathrooms in general. The spring sports programs were cancelled because of COVID-19, which is completely understandable. However, the Y refused to refund any money. They instead gave the option to either enroll in another sports program before the end of the year or donate the money to the Y. I am not a member of the Y so forcing me to donate is ridiculous, and possibly illegal??? Also, my child has had a birthday and has aged out of youth sports programs so how in the world am I supposed enroll in another one by the end of the year? Not only that, but the Y is being callous and insensitive to those with health issues who don't feel comfortable participating while coronavirus is still a very real thing. This essentially amounts to theft and I am extremely disappointed in this organization in general, and this facility in particular. read more

I've been a member of this Y off and on for over 20yrs. The facilities are good but the best part is how friendly the staff is. From the front desk folks, to the trainers to the class instructors, I've always found everyone to be friendly and genuinely interested in helping you tailor an exercise program to your own needs. The machines are seriously outdated (video, plug ins, etc..). And there is only 1 stair master. And the check in and check out procedures are also annoyingly outdated. If they would just invest in a scanning device and key chain barcode you wouldn't have to wait in line to come in or leave. Instead you have to leave your card, and wait in line to pick it up. They could seriously save a lot of money doing this, not only with less staff, but you wouldn't have to pay X amount for a new card if you lose it. Hello I am new to the Georgia State, My family and I are from Philadelphia, we wanted something to do as a family, I tried to join the YMCA up north but the cost was very unreasonable for a family of five. One day I was driving past to drop my daughter off at school which is not too far from the Y, when I decided to check it out, so I went on line to do some research and printed out a one day pass... Wonderful!!! I love the service from the staff, smiles and they are just happy to be there. However I did not like the fact that no one gave us a tour, but I could not be upset because they gave us a free two weeks pass. Now I am an official member and we just love being here. read more

I've been a member of YMCA for three years. I love their fitlinxx program that logs your workout and your weight machine sections. It helps me reach my goals in toning up. It's included in the membership. Melinda, one of the trainers, is super friendly and helpful in assisting me in learning how to use the weight machines. The offer a wide range of classes including body pump and yoga classes. The gym is never packed, there are always cardio and weight machines available. I've been a member at lifetime and LA fitness but I love the atmosphere of YMCA, the staff, not having to wait for machines, the fitlinxx program, and the wide range of classes offered here better. read more

I've enjoyed my time at this Y - the staff is friendly, little to no wait for machines and the facility is clean. My frustration lies with the horrendous tv screens on the cardio machines. The TV reception is downright unacceptable, especially given the monthly price of membership. I've been patient - they have been broken for over a year - but my patience has run out and it's time for a new gym. read more

Still love it. When my membership lapsed because I switched age groups, the membership director gave me a guest pass. She even told me about the scholarships I could apply for so I could still keep coming and not take the hit of the increased rate just because I went from 24 to 25. She was very understanding about having trouble getting my tax forms together and told me to turn in the paperwork when I had it. With consideration and service like that, why bother to try out other gyms? read more

The y has lack luster at best facilities. And there is constantly kids running around the y like it's their house the camps are cheap daycare like activities. And the schedule is terrible. No organization of the schedules and the employees lie frequently about them. I would not recommend this to anyone read more
