    Vamos United

First, United games are a lot of fun and they need to get a new stadium ASAP. The crowd is really into the game and they keep the drums beating and the flags waving the entire game. The atmosphere is like a mini college football game with a fun, intense atmosphere and dedicated crowd. As for the stadium, the United do their best with this decaying hulk but it's clearly poorly maintained and well past its prime. The sight lines from the seats aren't bad, but the stadium isn't otherwise impressive. The paint is literally peeling on the outside, the video board is tiny, and the stadium configuration clearly wasn't designed for soccer. The whole stadium shakes too when the crowd starts jumping, it's fun but you just hope it doesn't collapse! The stadium layout can also be confusing as it is one giant circle where everything looks the same. My friend and I wandered for what felt like 5 miles looking for the free beer redemption stand. Turns out, they had moved it the upper level where is was accessible only via a well hidden ramp. I'll be back since I enjoy United games but they need to either totally renovate or demolish this place.

With new sports stadiums popping up in the nation's capitol, RFK is (thankfully) an endangered species. Previously, this was home to the 'Skins and Nationals and is currently home to the DC United. However, they will be moving on in the near future, leaving this historic dinosaur behind. Having never attended a MLS match, we decided to head down to check out the four-time champs, even though this season has been less than memorable for them. One big plus is you can take the Metro to a stop near the stadium, eliminating the nightmare of DC traffic/parking. It's only a short walk away and the way to go, in my opinion. I was able to get tickets near center field on the day of the game, which were priced okay for the view. No tickets are sold for the upper deck sections, which aren't even needed from the number of seats empty below. Now, RFK itself...umm...yeah, it's definitely showing its age. There are minimal concessions and no bells and whistles associated with all of the newer sports facilities, which isn't entirely shocking, considering. Thankfully, the restrooms were decent. However, the minimal skeleton of a stadium serves its purpose and all the die-hard soccer fans waving flags and beating on drums could obviously care less. We had a fun time, even though the home team added another one to the loss column.

DC United seats are pretty reasonable with very few bad views, but tailgating is where it's at since concessions are unremarkable despite the long lines. I'd go GA field over stadium seating for a concert here. Customer service is wildly unfriendly, accusing us of trying to sneak onto the field when the guy scanning tickets straight up forgot to give us wristbands on the way in. Bag search was efficient. Too bad the lemonade stand didn't stay open for long! I skipped the pretzels after hearing people complain they were cold.

Went here for the Temple/UCLA game yesterday and it was colder than a witch's teat. We left at half time. Well, the last time I was at RFK was to see the Grateful Dead in like '93, and then the last time I was at the Armory was for an Ultraworld rave, needless to say I was out of my gourd at both of those events and, until yesterday, I had no clue the two structures were even near each other. That said, they are near each other. In the ghetto. I think the stadium itself still looks amazing. A stadium of yore that to me conjures up dreams of Mad Max vs. Hogwarts inside, what with the awesome curves and lines of the roof. I remembered it being much bigger, but back then I was much smaller. The "tailgate" that was part of the EagleBank Bowl was in the Armory, and what a horror show: 1. they ran out of food before the game even started; 2. there is no such thing as "all you can eat" when you're standing in line for an hour; 3. some punk also tried to pick-pocket my dad (but I called him out). The game was cool, though it was far from crowded, and like I mentioned, it was way too cold to enjoy, no matter how drunk you were. I'd like to go back for a packed event and feel the vibes.

Let me start by saying we went to a night game for the DC United and took Metro to the stadium. The lighting from the Metro to the stadium was really bad. DC needs to add brighter lighting in this area. Make sure you go with a crowd. Going back to this stadium brought back warm and fuzzy feelings remembering the old Redskins. The burgundy and gold seats have faded to yellow and a dull red. There was a section of fans in the old temporary bleachers that were insane! They made those bleachers rock like back in the old Skins days. We got a pair of tickets to mezzanine section and passes to the VW lounge. The lounge tickets were a nice bonus, they had cold cuts and sandwiches, potato salad, and cookies and brownies. They also had free beer and wine. Made for a nice evening. This was my first game game really really had a blast! I wish the Skins were still here.

GO NATS!!! I am so proud of Washington Nationals yesterday! Yes! We win! We win! Washington Nationals win! Awesome! I had a blast! Seat in the box seat with an excellent view to the ballpark, with a yummy comfort food juicy burger and fries, complete with a glass of white wine.. And the freedom of expressing my self by yelling and screaming supporting my team, without making other people looking at me weird and think I'm crazy.. And with a group of cool buddies around me that also enjoying our wild crazy fun time.. What's not to love? Oh yeah! I'm lovin' it!

ahhh...RFK stadium...has anyone else noticed that it is aligned perfectly with the capitol and the National Mall? It is a monument to sport, in the city of kings. But seriously, this is not a very nice stadium. Last time I was here it was Frank Robinson's last game as the National's coach. Great speech, Frank, but the video montage appeared so small on those antiquated big screens that I felt like I was at an Iowa State football game. But then again, it's always easy to get a ticket here--and the faded glory of this place, along with the sketchy neighborhood, give it a lot of character. My favorite is the DC United Games, when the latinos come out in force and it feels like we're all in Buenos Aires, boozed up for a Boca Juniors game. Four Stars for character.

I loathe this place and almost everything it stands for. I will avoid it at all costs... unless it's hosting an extremely awesome event that I really, really, really want to attend. I've fallen victim to this unfortunately. My deepest desire was to give it one star, but considering I've been here on multiple occasions, that would be terribly hypocritical. So let me elaborate on my cynicism. RFK is not completely awful - it's just not really good. On the one hand, it is walking distance from the metro, has a couple convenient parking lots, and houses plenty of seating. But that's about it. On the huge downside, it's so... so... just so aged. In a less "Angela Bassett" and more "Whoopi Goldberg" kinda way (that comment will likely come back to bite me in the arse one day). The sound quality is horrific because the place is rarely (if ever) filled to capacity, and the building is a bit ragged. No better way to say it. It's looks and feels old. About the only visually appealing quality of this place is the external architecture. But who really cares about that once you're inside? Go to RFK if you must, but know that you have been forewarned.

I heart RFK. Now gone are the days where I could easily drive to the $12 parking lot right off the highway (quick in and out, no traffic) and get a super cheap ticket to a baseball game on a whim. It's an olde time stadium with a great all-American feel, which I have a soft spot for. And they had the best spicy Italian sausages ever, with all the fixins, made by friendly workers who liked to chat with you while you waited. And if you walked around to one far-away part of the stadium, you could find straight-up soul food and crab cakes. I also caught a 101X fest once here. It was madness. I'll miss you, RFK!

I do like the roller-coaster-shaped roof profile. When they show the aerial views on TV, it looks distinctive and dramatic esp. with the Capitol in the distance. Not sure why they built a stadium in the middle of this residential neighborhood. Unlike the Verizon Center, there's not much to eat or drink or do around here before or after games. At least it's easily metro-accessible, with plenty of bus access too. Hopefully the new baseball stadium will have more bars and restaurants nearby.

Currently, it's the home for MLS team DC United. However, back in the day it was used as the home for the Washington Redskins. It's a really old stadium and most spectators sit in the lower bowl. On the supporters side, when people jump up and down, the entire grandstand area usually shakes. However, what is awesome is the atompshere on gamedays, the tailgating and the relaxed atmopshere at these games. Tips: - Parking is $20 - Tailgating starts in Lot 8 at 3pm on Sat games - Join the Screaming Eagles Supporters Group!

The energy here is amazing. We love coming here for DC United games, but we are looking forward to the new stadium. It's definitely time for an upgrade! If you're hungry, get the papusas since the rest is just standard concession food. If you're thirsty, look for the beer guy with the awesome makeshift beer opener that opens two cans at a time. Seriously, who is that guy? He's great. The staff is always friendly. We bought season tickets after moving to the area and attending one game since the sales team welcomed us with open arms and invited us back for a free game and info session. Can't beat a free game and a preview of the new stadium! A+ customer service.

This place is getting old, I can see why the redskins left and I'm kinda miffed that I spent $5 on a bottle of pepsi that at a machine would cost $1.50 but that's on me b/c I didn't have to buy it. Also the $4 hotdogs and the $9 chicken platter w/ fries...I guess if people keep paying it they'll keep chargin it. Still the DC united football game (soccer for all you Americans) was a lot of fun they have a great fan base and everyone went nuts when they tied it late in the second half off a penitly kick. RFK can be a good place for football and probably concerts but one day they'll have to probably renovate and clean it up a bit

I enjoy being in the crowd to watch a live game rather than sit at home and watch it on television. When I had the chance to go to a game, I made sure to take that offer up. Plus, I got to explore more of the city this way. A city that I have lived in for a few years and still have yet to discover a majority of it. Making your way here was fantastic while using the Metro. Getting in here was a breeze too. But, if I may, use any other entrance than Entrance A. The other entrances are way easier to get into and virtually no lines. Getting to your seats here are really easy as well, just follow the signs and you will be there quite fast. However, there are a lot of people that cannot decipher where the sections are. I had a few people try to say I was in their seat when I was not. They were the next section over. The one thing I would have liked to have known was that there was a second level right near my section instead of having to climb those steep steps. But the view, my god the view at this place is amazing. Seeing the Washington Monument over the jumbo screen was amazing. I do have to say, there is definitely not a bad seat in this stadium. Perfect view of the field and, if you are like me, a great place to disassociate. I caught myself staring off into the DC sky a lot while here. That view also lends to how a goal celebration happens here. Over the scoreboard there will be fireworks that shoot out in a 'W' formation with the DC skyline behind it. And when there is a goal, this place comes more alive than it already is. I really enjoyed myself here while watching the game. It was a great stadium to take in a game, and one I hope to come back to time and time again.

September 21st 2025…read more This place is so disorganized and disappointing. My father called ahead of time since him and I are both disabled (we both have handicap placards and my father has a permanent disabled license plate) He finally got ahold of someone and they said if we want handicap parking up close get the gold parking pass. I paid 200 dollars for parking. Yes, 200. Parking up close is VERY important to me.. Nobody was helpful in guiding us to the lot we paid 200 dollars for. Also, they told us when we got there there's no handicap places, we just have to go and sit on a blue bench and call a number for a golf cart to pick us up. I called the number 3 times and somebody did answer. They were nice but not helpful. We ended up having to give up and walk. No workers were helpful, and when we would try to flag down other workers on golf carts they would not stop for us. They did not even look at us The stadium is very outdated. It looks extremely industrial and not welcoming Very crowded Lines were long There definitely was not enough bathrooms or food areas to keep up with all the people it can hold However, I did enjoy the seats we had. I liked the view. And the field looks great. I will say, the bathrooms for the MOST part were clean for over 50 thousand people being there. I did see a toilet overflowing onto the ground though. But workers were taking care of it This stadium needs a huge update. Do not waste 200 on up close parking. It wasn't even that up close and nobody came and picked us up despite us calling and waiting for 43 minutes (the game had already started while we were waiting) Again, I do have to hand it to the woman on the phone who kept answering. It wasn't her fault and at least she answered. So, if you are disabled and can't walk far, plan accordingly Every stadium is different So always check their bag rules. I did have to use a small clear bag Sadly, this stadium is probably one of the worst I've been to P.S- if you google worst NFL stadiums, this one comes up lol. So I'm not the only one complaining
