I permitted it,…read morehowever I was suspicious but not ignorant of the kind of questions that would be asked/information that would be talked about. (Daughter is 30 now.) Forward to our world today (over 15-17 years later) to see that parents' are being kept from information - that is, concealing personal "medical" information from parents. This is not just to alert parents who are more recognizing what is happening in our public schools but to inform them of the "federally qualified (school-based) health centers, where gender identity & abortion recommended services among others) would be offered....so whether in a pediatrician's office or school- based center, parents need to speak up & not just trust. Parents know what's best for their children. They aren't ready to abdicate their responsibility to others, least of all to other adults, no matter how much these others appear sincere. Parents educate yourself if need be, but most of all trust your gut, which I should have done those years ago instead of letting my daughter in the doctor's office without me.

The rest of the staff however, seems to be either going through a divorce, haven't had a cigarette in a couple of hours, or just has a terrible attitude... Every day. Every person in there acts as though they have a stick up their rear. Out of our 9 visits, 8 of them ended with us needing to do the front desks job. We would be sent a bill that bypassed insurance and when we would call Advocare and ask why, they would tell us that insurance rejected the claim. We would call insurance and they would tell us that they never submitted a claim to reject. After a bit of phone tag, suddenly insurance was billed. We have been billed for incorrect co-pays multiple times. Vaccination records for school have been almost entirely omitted (date, lot#, administered by, and vaccines that they just decided weren't important) When asked about it, they said "that's just our procedure". This wasn't a secondary request either. This was the exact reason that we came to them and they couldn't fulfill a simple request. Luckily we had a vaccination record to compare to. Keep in mind, that we are only one family. One family that has had about 1 positive experience with this office. With a 10% satisfaction rate with us, it can't be much better with everybody else. When left to make their own choice, the staff here will always make the wrong choice. They will always take a shortcut, not to solve the problem, but to make it no longer their problem. Even after being called out on their "mistake" they will still not own up to it and they will not fix it until they are forced to. It took way too long, but Advocare Medford lost us as a patient and we will actively advocate against patronizing this office

This is weight loss meds that should be administered weekly. We already missed one week 2) They will tell you to come back every 3 months or less for "follow up" checks. And of course, to maximize profit. 3) Bloodwork is done in their clinic which is convenient, but would charge additional for what is supposed to be 100% covered by insurance. 4) Will charge $30 for no-show, but will not send a single reminder either via text or email or call. And you can't dispute these charges. I wish I could also charge them for all the 'no-updates' and 'no-callbacks'. Already looking for a new Primary Doctor. Sigh.

Dr. Shah is an excellent clinician and the practice is the best run office I've ever been to. Dr.'s Parag Patel and Jay Patel are just as good, so if you're looking for a Primary Care Physician I highly recommend any one at Elmwood Family Physicians.

Most other doctors I have seen rush there way thru a visit and only hear about half of what you say. She has gone above and beyond for my family when we really needed her and never giving up on finding a treatment plan that works. Dr. Finan is not the type of doctor that just throws medicine at you and call it a day. She really takes into consideration what is causing the issue and is not afraid to try alternative options for treatment.She takes her time explaining everything and really makes sure you are comfortable with your treatment plan before you leave. You realy feel like you have a say and are really part of the desicion. You are a person not just a number in this office!!! I am soo glad we started going to her office!!!!

Every question I tried to ask she cut me off and made some unnecessarily rude comment. After I explained that I was a new patient and that their office had been recommended to me she said with a very nasty attitude, "So what do you want?" She put me on hold and when she came back she said(again with a very nasty attitude) "So go ahead... what do you want?" Really??? This is how you talk to new patients? Any Patients? Needless to say I will not be going to this doctors office and I will make sure that I share my experience with any of my friends and family that are looking for a new doctor.

I wish I was able to give 5 stars just for being a nice guy. I've seen Dr.Shehata for years, had…read moreplenty of endoscopy and colonoscopy. Having to take off work twice for each procedure was ridiculous and annoying. I had asked him once if I could do them together all at once. I was told absolutely not & my insurance wouldn't allow. I went to a specialist for another reason & the procedures came up. I told the doctor that I have to have them done separately. He looked at me like I was crazy. He told me that they absolutely DO them together and sent me to who I see today. Had both together with no problems. That's just double dipping the insurance company and I also lose money from missing work. This made me very upset to hear after all of the years I've seen him. I think it is wrong and should be known. So if you do go to him and have to have them done, don't let him tell you no. He's a doctor & should know that there are risk when going under. Very disappointed with finding out he could be this way. Also please turn your table around and look at the patient. I always say there with your back to me, asking questions while you typed on the laptop. I'm sure the patients would be more comfortable & remember the procedures can be done together. :(
