Due to COVID-19, call ahead to make an appointment to look at frames! The people here were great and did not show even an ounce of annoyance as I essentially tried on every single pair of frames even in the store -- even though that meant they would then have to sanitize each and every pair. Once I selected a pair and worked with an optician to place the order, we ran into a roadblock with my insurance, as another provider had already submitted a request for benefits authorization. Rather than telling me to leave and figure it out with my insurance, one of the opticians called my insurance directly and got the issue resolved while I waited. I was quoted 1-2 weeks for my new glasses to be ready, and to my surprise, I got a text the next morning that my glasses were ready! My glasses were fine when I picked them up, but later that night I noticed there was a very small crack in one of the lenses. I brought them in the next day and Flanders Family Eyecare replaced the lens free of charge. Again, I was quoted 1-2 weeks for the replacement, yet they were ready the next day. Such a quick turnaround time and a very wide selection of styles!

However, fees were never discussed prior to the exam. They had me sign that I received my prescriptions BEFORE I even saw the doctor. When I questioned this they said it was for insurance purposes. There was also a $39 fee for a "picture" of your eye that you had to sign for. Get this, the picture was mandatory but they only charged the $39 if you wanted the doctor to read it. Wait, What? Then they charged $90 for the contact FIT fee. When I debated the charges, they wouldn't give me my contact lens prescription! Yet they had me sign before the exam that I received it! The doctor and pre-exam staff were friendly and helpful, but the billing woman was not, and I felt pressured into their office procedure nonsense. I just wanted a simple eye exam.

I went to multiple doctors in Florida...and I kept having a reoccurring issue that did not ever seem to heal. Who would think a scratch would last this long? When I came back home to New Jersey, I went to see Dr. Niki for my first time because I was having a "flare up." Turns out...I had reoccurring erosion of my cornea! No other doctor had told me this or even noticed this! She gave me medications that would help with my issue specifically. Then, in February, I scratched the same eye (very severely) with a stem of a flower. I was in such immense pain and could not use my eye at all. My Mom called the office, and honestly, they were not able to get me in, even if it was an emergency. My mom and I were very frustrated, so we went to the Urgent Care Center and then visited Dr. Niki the following day. Dr. Niki was GREAT - again! She and her staff understood the situation and took very good care of me as I was still in an immense amount of pain. I visited the office on a Thursday, and Dr. Niki informed me that she would be away for the weekend, so she gave me her personal phone number and texted me throughout the weekend checking in on my eye. I did have an issue with it on Saturday and even though she was going out of town later that day, she met me at her office to further evaluate it! An infection began to arise so she called my pharmacy directly and directed them as to what eye drops I needed. Overall, even though I was unable to get in on an emergency when we called, that was completely overridden by the fact that Dr. Niki herself came in on her day off to re-examine my eye. The whole experience was pretty traumatic but Dr. Niki kept me at ease the entire time - even up until this point! The office gets you in fairly quickly once you arrive, but I will admit you wait about 45 minutes to see the doctor. It is all worth it as she is VERY knowledgable. Can we say Unethical?  Their marketing is deceiving - almost bate & switch level…read more   My son lost his glasses and needed to replace them.  He goes back to college on Sunday so we needed them quickly.  Most places take 10 days so thought LensCrafters so we could get them the next day.     OK - Paid for the $138 eye exam and then went into the optical department.  On their website (lenscrafters.com/lc-us/g...) they have an offer for Frame + lenses starting at $99.   Great.  In case he finds his glasses this can be a backup.   I asked the associate where the frames in that range were.  I knew some can be stupid expensive.  I'd rather spend money elsewhere.  My son picked out a frame.  The associate started to ask questions about where they would be used and how.  So far, so good.   Then he tells us they would be $550.  I said that was too much and doesn't come close to their website.  I realize starting at can mean a lot but 5.5X.  seriously?   He said - that price was without prescription lenses - without batting an eye. I called the store to follow up on 8/29/2020 and spoke with an associate named Ryan. Ryan gave me 3 different answers in 3 sentences. He told me my ordered was shipped but not received and then not shipped. When I questioned him on the contradictions in his answers he became belligerent and testy and answered that the order was shipped and not received. No apology but an offer of a $50 credit when my order arrives. It seems that Ryan does not understand the basics of customer service. There was no need for his attitude. An explanation and not the standard of delay is due to COVID-19 and an apology would have been sufficient. The response and attitude were and are not appreciated. This is not my first purchase at this location but it may be my last as service here has deteriorated over the years. Initially I chose this location for the doctors and the fact that glasses were made on site. There is nothing like 1 hour service. The doctors are great but for a few years no onsite production and no staff with attitudes. With so many businesses competing for my patronage, why should I continue to use your services?
