I have torn meniscus and bone-on-bone arthritis in both knees, and surgery felt like the only option. But Aaron worked with me patiently and consistently, and after several months of twice-weekly sessions, I found myself doing something I hadn't done in a long time, walking without pain. Once I made that progress, I began working with Michelle, their personal trainer, to build overall strength and improve my fitness. I've been overweight for too long, and with Michelle's guidance, I've dropped multiple clothing sizes, built noticeable muscle, and so far I've lost over 20 pounds. Most importantly, I feel strong and empowered, and I'm doing all I can to keep my knees supported and avoid (or at least delay) surgery. The change has been truly life-changing. My quality of life has improved dramatically. I move with so much more ease, and even the muscle soreness that comes from a tough workout feels good because I know I'm doing something great for my body. I'm beyond grateful for the support, expertise, and encouragement I've received at Within Your Reach. Aaron and Michelle have helped me take back control of my health and mobility, and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Upon coming in, I was greeted by the friendly front desk staff. They made signing in and paying my bill completely easy which is always a relief. Aaron Quinn was my Physical Therapist and he immediately made me feel as if I was in the right hands. I learned so much about myself and my shoulder that I really had no idea about. With just one appointment I have been able to feel immediate relief, and have gained what feels like so much useful knowledge. I can't wait for my next appointment already. As a fitness member there is absolutely nothing I could possibly complain about. The workouts are fun, doable, and so well written out. Dustin, who is primarily my fitness instructor is so good about getting me back into shape and making me feel like he cares about my presence in the class. He is amazing. I took one class with Ashley, and she is as equally as impressive as Dustin. Overall amazing place to workout, and stay fit.

The exercises they made me do were wrong for my condition and made my recovery more painful and difficult. I also, even having phoned three times to billing about my being overcharged, have never heard back from them again. I told my doctor this week about my therapy and billing overcharge, and he said he would stop recommending therapy at Precision. This is a Sutter doctor. Too bad no one from Precision seems to read the complaints and resolve them. I will never go back to Precision in Scotts Valley. I will be calling my health insurance to ask them to intervene in my being overcharged.

I went in to see Cheryl several times and the visits were mostly discussing how all I needed was to strengthen my knees and all I needed was to do several lunges each day. I was never was offered electric stem, ice or anything similar to help with the actual pain. After about 1 week of doing these daily lunges, I told Cheryl that my knees were in much more pain than before. She said it was normal and just sore from building up the muscle. So I kept doing the lunges and continued having increased pain but I kept being told it was normal and okay. After about 3-4 weeks of starting PT here, my left knee completely went out on me! It hurts so bad I couldn't even touch my toes on the ground without a sharp, stabbing pain in my knee. I ended up going to the ER and couldn't walk on it for 2 days. Clearly, this was more than just pain from exercising. I got an MRI and an appointment with a orthopedic surgeon who specializes in knees. He told me, along with several other doctors, that lunges are THE WORST exercise for your knees. It's very hard on them and that he wouldn't even think of doing a lunge! I was shocked and felt so angry that this whole time I was damaging my knee more so, when very easily I could gave been given more than just one exercise to strengthen my knee. My MRI showed that I had a cartilage defect on the inner part of my knee and the doctor told me to stop the lunges immediately. I'm very disappointed in the treatment I received at Valley PT. Cheryl could have given me many other exercises to do, like my current PT in Santa Cruz is doing now. I'm in no pain and have about 10 different ones I can do that aren't harmful to my knee. Then also do other treatments to help with the pain.

She not only teaches me HOW to move to correct my misalignments, but also WHY, by having me finger a model of the human spine so that I understand how the vertebrae optimally and sub-optimally function as a unit. Instead of having me do a lot of different exercises, she focuses on a handful and helps me perfect them over time. She goes beyond execises, asking about how I sit in my car, in my study, and at the dinner table, and makes suggestions for improving how I hold my body throughout the day. We need for PTs like Cheryl.

It was only my second visit, and the first time using the pool. She was sitting by the sidelines of the pool and couldn't even see me clearly due a chair lift being in the way. She also had another patient at the same time in pool and I hadn't been told that I'd be "sharing" the session, although I was still charged over $300 for about 45 mins. of someone calling out to me a bunch of exercises to do that I could have easily found online. She sat in a chair drinking a soda and didn't want to get up to actually show me what to do. Then another therapist came in and she started having a personal conversation with her about a vacation....It was really awful. She never even greeted me when I came in, checked in on how I was doing from the last visit, or looked at me as I was doing the exercises to make sure I was doing everything correctly. I finally got out of the pool and left and she never acknowledged me or event said "good-bye" as I walked passed her since she was so engaged in having her personal conversation. The dressing room was a mess, too, and very run down and dirty. The whole experience left me feeling awful and I cancelled all of my subsequent appointments. How they get away with this and charging so much, I don't know.
