I've been really enjoying my visits to Premier Physical Therapy. I came in on a referral from Kaiser for some knee issues and I've had some really positive experiences. I've worked with PTs Jessica and Richard - each with their own styles and have both provided a great level of care. The exercises they recommended have helped me a lot even with just stretching more on a daily basis. At the end of our sessions, we'll do some therapy work to help break down inflammation and promote healing, which have all been great. The facilities inside are clean and the equipment is spotless. PT Assistants and support staff have all been excellent. Would recommend this for PT for anyone. read more

I went to premier for knee pt and didn't realize how unhelpful it was until I went to another pt facility. I can now ride a bike and jog but could not with premier. Also, it was very difficult booking advance appointments at Premier. I was surprised at how much easier it was with PAMF. Word to the wise: shop around and don't go with Premier. read more

Unprofessional, uncaring. I made an appointment with them for a initial visit, but when I arrived they had no appointment scheduled and didn't believe me that I made one till I played their voice mail back to them. They then tried to squeeze me in anyhow, which ended up with me being rushed out, getting very little time with anyone who knew what they were doing, they didn't even give me time to do the exercises I was assigned, and I was not give any soft tissue manipulation which I have previously received for the same condition at other clinics. I hadn't been to Premier Physical Therapy in Santa Cruz for awhile and there has been a huge staff turnaround. The reception/office area, which is not separated from the exercise floor/space, is more frantic and rude than before. Literally the worst physical therapy place I've ever heard of. The physical therapist won't stay with you the whole time. They only spend about 15 of the 60 minute appointment with you, and leave you with an intern to monitor your exercises and stretches. When they're actually supposed to be working with you, they spend a lot of their time talking to their coworkers about weekend plans instead of actually paying attention to you. They're also very non responsive in terms of scheduling appointments and wrote down the wrong appointment time the first time I scheduled a session with them. Try any other physical therapy place in Santa Cruz, it can't be worse than this. read more

I had injured myself and needed to have surgery on my hip. I was referred to Premier Physical Therapy in SC and I am so grateful I was. The entire staff, (interns, reception, PT's, everyone) is so nice and helpful. Surgery had an estimated 6-8 month recovery time, and today was my 6 month and final session. This place was a waist of my time. Simply put, trash. Went in for a bad knee, couldn't figure it out. Told them that would be my last visit so they conned me to come back by making up a new injury. (Squeezed my thigh and told me to flex, ouch) Next I came back for this "new discovery" and they didn't even bring up again, or care to re visit it. They left me alone half the time and just seemed like we're trying to get through the day. Premier therapy made my injury worse. They charged me 700, then a month later charged me another 4 for "payments they forgot to charge" they reduced my fee by idk 150 bucks for these comaints. Here's the kicker.. I told my gf about this (she has her masters in kinesiology) and she quickly diagnosed my knee as a tight IT band, massaged it and fixed it in a day. WHAT A JOKE THIS PLACE IS! These guys were 10000% ace for rehabilitation for my broken leg, and later provided yeoman's service getting my symptoms under control. I recommend Natalia above all others, and Char a very close second. If you get in with the right PT, you will do well. Their billing? Primarily important to me when engaging a healthcare provider is first skill, then detail and attention to uncovering the underlying conditions for meaningful healing, and finally a sense of compassion and patience. If you're interested in the final ingredient, I do not recommend Anna at Premier. I was hesitant making the appointment when I called asking for an appropriate therapist given my condition - arising more from work stress (sitting all day working on a computer) than sports/physical activities - and was impatiently told they could not give medical advice (huh?) and was grilled on whether I had an appropriate referral to entitle me to care. Driven on by by the solid reviews here, I made the appointment. Expecting a chilly front desk, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were very welcoming. That sense of relief, that maybe I had come to the right place after all, ended with my session with Anna. She started with my intake information, and as she asked me questions which I tried to answer to the best of my ability, I had the feeling that I was failing a test: giving the wrong answers, not understanding the questions, not answering quickly enough. Anna's irritation seemed to increase as I got more uncomfortable. At one point, I said I didn't understand what I was being asked, and she repeated the question in a LOUDER voice. I felt assualted. Instead of feeling helped, I felt like a misbehaving, or worse, ignorant child. It got somewhat better during the physical evaluation, but she was still impatient - conveying that I was not following instructions correctly as to how I was letting my body be guided by her. I really wanted to ask her to understand that I wasn't a finely tuned athlete with extra sensory body awareness/capability to know how to control the different parts of my body, or the mind control to prevent the involuntary impulses brought on by my pain. I just wanted to get it over with. It's obvious Anna is very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, skill doesn't always come with patience. And, when one is suffering from pain and looking for sensitive care, this is imperative. read more

Last year my world was rocked, and not in a good way, when I was diagnosed with a herniated and degenerated disc in my lower spine. My primary care physician sent me to Eric at Premier Physical Therapy saying, "Eric's a genius, he'll know what to do to to keep you away from the spine surgeon." I chuckled a little, and thought, "Doc's insane -- a genius -- seriously?" But what else was I going to do? I didn't want pain and I didn't want surgery. Feeling a little like a hero in a video game, novel, movie, etc... I trusted the wise/crazy sage who gave me the quest of finding the wizard who would show me how to fulfill my quest for a pain-free life. In other words, I called to make an appointment. Much to my dismay, my quest instantly became much less epic -- Courtney, the office manager, was incredibly sweet and accommodating; she found an appointment for me within the week and I didn't have to pay a toll or solve a riddle! Highly skeptical because genius wizards shouldn't be that easy to get into see, I arrived for my first appointment grumpy with pain and petulantly expecting a miracle. And, I got it. After a thorough consultation, massage and treatment, I walked out the door with reduced pain and a little bit of hope. Hope because I felt relief both physically and mentally. The wizard had answered all of my questions, explained how treatment would work, and had given me suggestions to help manage my pain. I knew then that my quest would be epic indeed, the wizard couldn't just give me my life back. Rather, I had to work for it. But, I knew going in that I would have plenty of support from Eric, genius wizard, and the other magical denizens of Premier Physical Therapy. I am writing this review post-treatment, a million miles away from surgery, pain-free, and stronger than I was before. My quest was fulfilled. Doc was right. Eric IS a genius. A significant part of that genius is his ability and willingness to connect with patients. Many physical therapists have technical proficiency, but they do not necessarily strive to bring their patients into a working partnership where therapist and patient are equally responsible for the success of treatment. read more

I have been going to Premier PT in Aptos for 3 weeks. Working with Hayden and Jilly and the soon to be awesome PT's! I have to arthritic knees, bone in bone and in 3 weeks of working with this team pain is 1/2 of what it was . FYI , I do what these young, highly informed and genuinely interested in your progress therapists tell me what to do. Science works if you work it! I had two Total Shoulder Arthroplasties (Replacements) in 6 months and went to Premier Physical Therapy for my PT. Eric put me on a program that helped me get my range of motion and strength back in both my shoulders. When I had my follow-up appointments with my surgeon, he was amazed at my progress stating that I was far ahead of where most of his patients were at that point in time. The staff at Premier are very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. I've been to three other Physical Therapy places and Premier Physical Therapy is hands down the best. I rarely write Yelp reviews but today I was impacted like never before. I had my first most thorough assessment ever regarding my injury/pain about two weeks ago with Anna from Premier. She was extremely understanding and I was treated with the utmost respect and she understood that my goals were to be out of pain and back to being more flexible and be able to sleep more soundly. I was guided through my prescribed exercises by an attentive PT aid. I asked questions and details and feedback were given to me and I felt very knowledgeable going home to work my exercises/stretches. I came back today to work with Mara another PT aid and was introduced to Eric, the owner, AND physical therapist, who was not above folding towels :-) and who guided both myself and Mara in tailoring more exercises to build upon my initial routine. Premier I look forward to working every session with your business, I have had experience with 3 other physical therapy offices since experiencing work/play/sports injuries and I have to say that I was extremely taken care of by all of your staff. I have found an awesome Physical Therapist at Premier - Anna Spix! I've seen her now for two separate issues. She is very focused, does an amazing job assessing me and explaining the mechanics of what was going on with my body. I'm curious and ask a lot of questions, and she is patient, happy to show me models and answer my questions. My shoulder is feeling about 98.9% and we're now working on a few other areas. I have spent a good 6 months at least with these guys and couldn't come up with one bad thing to say about them whatsoever. They are absolutely wonderful!! They give you a personalized regimen, however, they're totally flexible if you're just tired and can't do as many that day or what not. All the therapists and interns are SO friendly!!! After just a few visits, it doesn't feel like you're going to a doctor's appointment. It feels really casual, friendly, and comfortable. I can only provide the highest of recommendations for them!! I've tried one other physical therapy place; the highest recommended I'd heard of in SF, and it pales in comparison to this place. So if you've got some injuries that need fixing, look no further!! I am disaappointed with the office policy to charge $50 if a patient does not cancel before 24 hours notice. I was ill and called the morning of my appointment to explain that I did not feel safe to drive the mountain roads that day. When I arrived for my next apptmt I was greeted with the charge. I asked to speak to the person who made this decision. They told me I could E mail someone. They said I must pay before my apptmt that minute. This exchange occurred out in the open with staff and patients listening. I wanted to resolve this first. Guess what happened....they sent me a bill for another 50 dollars. No one called me as I requested. This is poor management and patient mistreatment. They allow NO room for emergencies. It is clearly a money grab from the sick and elderly. I read more

Just finished my PT here. I'm an athlete and have dealt with various offices in the Bay Area & feel like this is one of the best. One complaint - I feel like they don't ask enough questions along the way. Seems like most PTs here skilled but not all use right protocol with certain injury. Several ladies at the desk are great, but Robin has a condescending air that is very unpleasant to deal with so try to schedule with someone else. read more

Premier physical therapy has a unique way of treating patients and making them feel like they belong. The environment is very organized and open, I personally enjoy the space. Greg and the other receptionist add to the overall environment. One thing I loved was being able to stick to two physical therapists, Natalia and Sean, they were both really awesome and definitely made my appointment more interesting and challenging. Eric is, I believe, the owner, he seeks out the best for each patient and really is a team worker. He strives to make you feel as comfortable as possible with efficiency and I appreciated that. Before I end I would like to add that their music ties the place very well, nothing better than starting (or ending) your day with some oldies. The physical therapy assistant that was assigned to me was not helpful. Poor communication. I think their key objective was typing in the answers to their stock questions. I could have found the exercises I needed on google. Doesn't there have to be a "real" physical therapist present and/or at least running the show? The physical therapy assistant spent less than 5 real minutes on me, then disappeared. Some aid saw me sitting there and then told me I was done and could go. It was my first visit. No need to return since they don't provide a real physical therapy service. read more

I've tried this place twice. First in 2016, the PT was horrible so I got treatment elsewhere (that was great) This place is in network with my insurance (they assured me the old PT is long gone) so I tried again. The PT was rude, called me combative for trying to tell her what hadn't worked so far. She had the aide show me some exercises but I've been doing the exact exercises for a long time myself. She(the PT) still wouldn't give new exercises or offer any treatment. She said 1st visit is an evaluation only and they give exercises. Real treatment starts the 2nd visit. He's also an encourager, cares for his patients, and the rest of his staff is a reflection of that in how they treat each patient. I came to Premiere Physical Therapy about a year ago. I had received neck and knee injuries from a car accident and was trying to get back into running and triathlons. I went about three times and had generally positive experiences: I enjoyed working with Eric, and the rest of the staff were very helpful. The reason I'm giving them 3 stars is because I had a somewhat unpleasant experience the fourth time I went. It was in December, and they were clearly trying to get lots of people in before the holidays. Although I had been working with Eric, he was too busy that day and I ended up working with a different therapist. It was immediately clear that she had only skimmed my file and did not have a grasp of my injuries or where I was in my rehabilitation. Moreover, I overheard her complaining at length to a different client about her workload/pay while I was stretching on the adjacent table. Finally, because it was so busy that day, I was asked to cut my exercises short because they need my table for someone else. I realize that my experience that day may have been unique. Like I noted before, perhaps it was so busy because of the holiday rush. Nonetheless, my rehabilitation was a top priority for me, and I didn't feel like I was in trustworthy hands that day. I've been going for several months to rehab an ankle injury and it's a great place. Not only is everyone really friendly, but my therapists, Meghan and Eric are really knowledgeable and dedicated to your full recovery. Not only do they work on your injury, but they work to make you physically stronger to avoid injuries in the future. Also, they are patient focused meaning they listen to how your are doing. They believe you have to listen to what your body is saying and if you feel you're ready for more, they'll step it up. But, if you can't do something they honor that too and try to find other was to enhance your recovery. The atmosphere is professional yet casual, making it enjoyable to go, not a chore like other PT places I've been in the past. I would highly recommend Premier Physical Therapy. read more

I visited Premier Physical Therapy after a complete tear of my ACL. During my visits which lasted nearly 6 months I was fortunate to be seen by all of the different therapists with each noticing different movement patterns. They progressed me steadily to allow to me get back to my fun activities again. My sessions started from about an hour and progressed to over 2 hours with constant assessment from not only the PTs but also the aides too. They made me feel well cared for, nurtured and safe as they progressively advanced my exercises. Thoroughly recommend them for valued care. read more

I had done physical therapy before at another office in Capitola where you went in, got worked on and left. It wasn't bad but it has nothing on Premier! Everybody at Premier puts in extra effort to help you with your injuries, answer any questions and give you a comfortable setting as you work on recovery. I went in with chronic back pain. They examined me and immediately got me started on strengthening, stretching and relieving the pain at a pace I could handle. In the end, not only was I pain free and stronger than before, I had the knowledge to stay healthy and uninjured. Probably not the best business plan since I'm less likely to need physical therapy now but if I do, this is where I'll go. read more

I went to Premier for both my hip and my back. It was by far the best PT I have ever received. I have been going to physical therapy for many years for a variety of different injuries and this has been the best place yet. I love that it is on the smaller end and you have constant interaction with the Physical Therapists. The assistants are also all extremely helpful. One of the best things about this place is that all the therapists are active which shows in their treatment of patients. They want to get their patients better and back to whatever activities they enjoy doing. Their priority is to heal not keep patients in therapy forever. My body was stronger after my physical therapy than it was when I started. All of the therapists are excellent and all show true concern for their patients. They are always willing to answer questions and work with you to create a custom rehab plan. The environment is professional but relaxed. They want you to have a good time while you workout and even go the extra mile for kids to try and make games out of their rehab. I have been meaning to write a review on these guys for a long while now. I had left and then right shoulder surgeries by Dr Spiegel and his PA Andrew Dorosin. After a few weeks of healing, I came to Premier Physical Therapy. The staff made me feel so comfortable and didn't push me to do anything I didn't want to or couldn't do. My results? 100%. I just started my PT here today for my shoulder and I am glad to have been referred to here! I have gotten PT at another establishment before and they never really gave me anything that I could use for future reference. Here Eric has already started me on stretches and helps supply me with the band to be used to do at home exercise and they give you the work sheet of which exercises and how they are done in which positions. This is extremely helpful especially if you don't remember the exercises by the next day. They do switch you around to different aides but they are all friendly and approachable so I don't mind that because they still give you individual attention. read more
