My two sons and I have been seeing Dr. Millman probably the last two years. We've seen solid gains in our health including ear infections, brain health, unusually low cholesterol, and many more maladies including when she caught that my youngest was in pre- hemochromatosis's. Dr Millman was recommended to me by my chiropractor a couple of months ago. I have IBD and fibromyalgia. I have had this for a long time and she ran some tests to help me with food allergies, digestive function and nutrition analysis. I have been taking care of myself for many years (since I am a nutritionist) and it is nice to have a doctor to bounce things off of and partner with to help myself manage my conditions. she does not over charge and has a very gentle manner about her. Dr Millman is the reason my husband and I are parents. She greatly helped get my body back into sync so that I could conceive. My fertility doctors said I had a 5% chance of getting pregnant. Not only did I get pregnant but I did it in 6 months and with one Fallopian tube, i found out one tube was blocked. She has also helped me with my Rheumatoid arthritis which is now nothing compared to what it was when I was diagnosed. Recently I've had lots of digestive issues and we are working on resolving them. I have a Masters in Holistic Health Psychology, and so you can imagine that I have a good background with holistic and complementary doctors (dozens!) In 20 years, I have never met anyone who is so dedicated to each patient's individual health situation and to a masterful application of leading edge insights and modalities that many other holistic physicians don't know about. She also employs innovative methodologies for determining on-the-spot how my body is responding, that allows her treatment protocols to be precise and individualized. Dr. Millman put together that the huge constellation of symptoms that I'd been having for 2 decases was due to "mold illness." Now who has heard of "mold illness"? I, like most people, including doctors, hadn't. It turned out that it's "inflammation within the body which is caused by an immune system that has gone haywire." The term "mold illness" is a subcategory of biotoxin illness, called Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS). Dr. Kim Millman is amazing! I have worked in critical care for many years and I find her knowledge base superior to most Medical Doctor. She is a great listener, compassionate and an out of the box thinker! Just. A heads up - Dr. Kim Millman is strictly Holistic and does not do any type of emergency care. Dr. Kim is not a replacement for primary care physician. My primary care Dr. and multiple specialist were unable to get to the root cause of why my immune system was shutting down. Seeing Dr. Kim was a Game Changer! Dr. Kim suggested we dig deeper and to do a comprehensive DNA visit after a couple of office visits when I was still struggling. Doing the DNA tests changed my life for the better! I feel amazing today and I actually need way less supplements. I discovered which DNA pathways were not optimal and which vitamins and minerals my body was at risk for deficiency. Once I supplemented correctly for my DNA needs, I rapidly and fully recovered. I am better and healthier today then in my twenties. Thank you Dr. Kim. If your health is failing and nothing is working. I HIGHLY recommend ordering the 23 and me health and ancestry - you need both. In 6 weeks or so you get results and then email to Dr. raw data file under tools. This visit is more expensive because it takes awhile to do all the intricate DNA searches, etc and is not a two minute initial office visit appt. I got about 50% better with Dr. Millman through muscle testing and a 100% better with DNA office visit. Before one can do DNA visit - must do initial visit first to maximize health. This way, when doing DNA visit, Dr. Millman can look deeper into your specific issues. I had a very poor experience with Dr. Millman. I had a complex case and she basically was not invested in me at all, made me feel weird that I wasn't getting better when she gave me lots of supplements all the time. I felt like I was constantly trying to diagnose myself in her office and she wasn't putting in the effort. She wasn't willing to go the extra mile for me at all or even admit that my case was too complex for her and her method wasn't working. She wouldn't even look over my genetics test thoroughly in our basic appointments, I would have had to pay for another appointment just to do that. She strung me along and took my money and basically did not try very hard at all to think outside the box and get to the bottom of my heath condition. She is NOT good for complex vague autoimmune cases. I would not recommend seeing her. read more

I'm somewhat torn about Dr. Millman but would ultimately not recommend her. I came to her seeking a holistic method to managing my thyroid condition. After going to her for 4-5 months, my blood work has returned to normal, however I can't in good conscience fully credit her for this. Pro's: - Good bedside manner. She comes across as caring, she listens to you and doesn't rush you out of her office. - She is willing to be creative and try different combination of supplements - She is also an MD and can order blood work so you don't have to ask your Dr. Con's: - Warning!! She uses Applied Kinesiology as her primary diagnostic method which has not been proven to work. I don't require double blind studies (I go to acupuncture which has been immeasurably helpful for another condition), but have absolutely no reason to believe in AK. - I can't decide whether she believes that all the supplements she prescribed (and sells out of her office) are really what I required or whether she was simply trying to make money. In any case, some helped while others had absolutely no effect. Some contained ingredients which could have aggravated my condition. I weaned myself off most of them with no ill effects. - Because she doesn't rush you out of her office she is often late starting your appt. I once had to wait 40mins after my appointed time. - She doesn't take insurance so office visits ($100 per) plus multiple supplements ($30-50 per bottle) became very costly. I guess the con's outweigh the pro's. Would not recommend her. read more

Both my son and I are patients of Dr. Kim and we couldn't be more excited to recommend her! I began treatment at The Millman Clinic a few years ago, after being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. Although my gastroenterologist was treating my inflammation with traditional medications, I was still feeling terrible. My face was grey, I was anemic and surely vitamin deficient. And everyone I knew could see I was quite ill. Dr. Kim started me on nutritional supplements and within a short few weeks I had my energy back, I was making fewer trips to the restroom, and I felt like myself again. Because of all the great Yelp reviews I decided to see Dr. Millman (after I decided a colleague brought her name up as a good holistic doctor). I am so glad I did. Mainsteam western treatment for 35 years left me feeling worse and worse, in my first visit with her she came up with a picture that makes total sense to me. She understands autoimmune dysfunction, food and chemical sensitivities, and what is happening in your body at a deeper level. I have had so many bad experiences with doctors who would barely listen, change medications for a short term improvement followed by more decline. Not being pleased with the quality of care my mother was receiving from traditional Western medical doctors, I succumbed to giving an alternative medical practitioner a chance at helping my mother whose health was rapidly deteriorating. I was performing numerous web searches in locating a holistic practitioner that was close to my mother's residence at the time, and after an exhausting Google search I found Dr. Kim Millman's website. The only reason I gave any credence to Dr. Millman's website is because she's a licensed medical doctor, an internist. I made an online appointment for my mother, and I was able to print all of the consent forms and medical history forms off of a PDF file on Millman's website. When I arrived at Dr. Millman's "clinic" I was surprised to see that she runs her business out of her home. Her home is a very small, old, duplex in San Jose in a so so neighborhood. Meeting Dr.Millman for the first time she was not all that friendly. The first thing she asked me was, "How did you find out obout me?" She didn't ask me in a terribly friendly manner. I told her it was through a web search. The day of my mother's appointment with Dr. Millman it was very hot outside. My mother was wheelchair bound and Dr. Millman said that we could not bring a wheelchair inside her house! So, my ailing elderly mother and I had to sit outside in a hot courtyard outside of Dr. Millman's front door while we waited for her to "go over" my mother's past medical history. Dr. Millman finally comes out of her house with her assistant, an older lady who claimed to have worked in healthcare for many years, and along with several trays with a bevy of little vials of liquids and solids. I was beginning to see some red flags rising. Then Dr. Millman puts some of these vials on my mother, and then along with her assistant, she raises my mother's arm and starts doing these weird pressure techniques. What in the devil is going on here I thought?! After Dr. Millman finished doing "her thing" with my mother, she concluded that my mother was "contaminated" with heavy metals and had issues with her digestive system that was making her lathargic. Also, Dr. Millman claimed my mother's thyroid was "way out of whack." I told Dr. Millman that my mother was being treated for thyroid disease. Dr. Millman wrote a prescription for an extremely high dose armour thyroid for my mother without even doing a blood test! Dr. Millman claims that blood tests "aren't accurate and that she only calls for fecal analysis." This is such baloney! Concluding the "examination" I was sold a bottle of some sort of detox and several bottles of herbal supplements for my mother. The "detox" actually had numerous heavy metals in its ingredients! WTF is this? I didn't dare give any of this junk to my mother. When I got home I research the method that Dr. Millman was using on my mother with the muscle testing. It turns out Dr. Millman uses the practice of applied kinesiology which is A COMPLETE SCAM! Applied kinesiology was invented by a crack pot chiropractor in the early 1960's and has been conclusively debunked. It's absolute smoke in the mirrors, snake oil, poppycock bullshit! In other words Dr. Millman is a quack, a fraud, and running a very shady operation out of her home! She's no different than some mall psychic preying on vulnerable ignorant people. I'm so mad at myself for this experience and putting my poor mother through it too. I'm a very skeptical person by nature. I don't buy into any of this crapola whatsoever and that's what this Dr. Millman is all about with her mystical magical bullshit. I want to point out what Dr. Millman is in violation of: She is in violation of the disabled persons act of which she's running a business that does not have accommodations for handicapped people; no licensed, practicing, medical doctor may sell herbs, vitamins or supplements through his or her practice; I'm sure she's in violation of fire safety codes for people that do come into her home for services; and allowing an uncertified teenage girl to take patients' blood pressure. My beautiful mother passed away last May at the age of 86. The reason for my mother's extreme lethargy was caused from numerous strokes that she had suffered. My mother had a serious fall months prior and never recovered from her injuries. Not only was Dr.Millman WAAAAAAAY off with her "diagnoses" with her hocus pocus but she took advantage of my desperation in trying to seek answers to help my mother. To say that I was pissed is a gross understatement. My gut feeling for the positive reviews for Dr. Millman are either friends leaving bogus reviews, or just people who think they were "cured" because of power of suggestion. Power of suggestion yields to a lot of false positives. Dr. Kim has been my doctor for over 7 years. Although her training is an internist/medical doctor & can provide mainstream medical care, i.e. prescribing antibiotics, etc. - I LOVE that she also practices an holistic approach as well. Dr. Kim has treated me with antibiotics with sinus infections; treated me heal from a bone infection & broken toe with herbal "noninflammatory" drugs. And recently, this past winter, treated me for flu/cold symptoms with a herbal remedy. I own my exercise studio, which means I come in contact with ALOT of people, I work-out 4-6 hours a day. I started Holistic treatment with Dr. Kim a few years ago and I was a mess. I was in treatment for depression and back problems with traditional Dr.s and medicine and although it helped a little bit, it was not my total answer to my aliments and I felt very "stuck" physically, and emotionally. I came to Dr Millman after going to so many doctors, primarily from Stanford, who failed because they are stuck in the mainstream western medical paradyme. Living with chronic pain caused by severe injuries from a near fatal accident plus a chronic immune condition, I was not being helped by the best that Stanford and UCSF had to offer. If it wasn't taught to them in medical school, it isn't valid. Dr Millman combines her western medicine training with her extensive complimentary nutritional training. I had been to countless Doctors trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I was at the end of my rope and honestly felt like I was dying and I couldn't eat anything (ANYTHING).
