Let me start out by saying I've been a long time customer of this company, as well as my parents and grandparents and other family members. I prefer to support local, small businesses whenever possible. I recently bought a washer and dryer from this company. When I received it after waiting two weeks, ( I could have ordered it from Abt and gotten it in 2 days) I was not pleased with the dryer's capability of drying my clothes. It took three cycles and the clothes came out very damp. I called the very next morning and reported this issue and wished to have a serviceman come as soon as possible. The woman on the phone was extremely rude and the man in the office sitting at the other desk was yelling from his desk that my dryer did work! Both continued to talk over me. I had to raise my voice just to get my point across. They told me to pull the dryer out from the wall and check the flexible vent. Pretty sure that was not my responsibility. I had paid cash and expected them to send someone to fix the problem. I was then told It was not their responsibility to check or replace the dryer vent. Keep in mind, my old dryer had been there for 20 years. Considering I paid $2500 for this new pair, time to replace the vent, don't you think! The woman I was trying to explain to, proceeded to say "I can't take this anymore " and hung up on me! I immediately called back. The yelling man from the other desk answered the phone. I asked him to pick up the appliances and return my money. One of the owners called me back to apologize was extremely nice. Treated me like I should have been treated in the first place. Too bad his employees didn't take a lesson from their boss. They came that day, gave me my check and took the appliances. read more

My parent's dryer went out yesterday. My parents were so relieved to here that they still serviced most appliances. We all have bought our appliances from this local family business through the years. They called Patty answered. She was very pleasant. She had an appointment for them in one day. Markus the service technician arrived on time. He was very through. You could tell he knew his equipment and had great knowledge of what he was doing. He went over above the call. Thanks to him he checked everything out and found that even after the part was installed, they still had an issue that could have been very dangerous if not taken care of. He explained everything in depth and answered all questions. The service with part was very reasonable. Markus was very Courteous and polite. It very comforting to know we still can count on family-owned business who is fair, trustworthy and who truly care about the people. Give them a call they are here for us. So disappointed in my entire experience with this dealer. Bought a refrigerator 6 years ago and even on sale I paid too much. I knew this at the time and I did this because my mom raved about the service they provided. Last year we had problems with the ice maker and paid a hefty price to have it fixed as well as having to wait more than a week to get a service man out to see it. Not impressed with the service. This year the fridge completely conked out. We lost all our frozen goods while in Vaca and most of our food in fridge. $$$ Still hoping for some of that "great service " we were promised, we called Tylisz and again had to wait more than a week for service. The guy finally came out today and after 10 mins said the unit was not repairable....and that will be $95 dollars please. Poor quality product, poor service standards, the phone game of the people you have to call to schedule is not good....the only reason they got one star is because the guy who came to service was very pleasant. Shop Costco! We have never had an issue with any of our appliances we have purchased there and they are 5-8 years older! Better price by at least 30%. read more

I visited the Valparaiso store on 5/21 asking for a upright frost free 22 cf freezer. The man working there let me know the only thing they had was a small chest freezer, I again told him what I was looking for. He told me that they hadn't seen freezers for 2 years now. I asked why and he said covid?????. I asked if he could order me one and he said well no not really. So I left irritated. I sat in the parking lot and googled appliance stores and Nasons came up so I called. I asked for the same product and was told that there was one on order and she would check and if no one had a claim on it I could have it. Guess what in two weeks I have a new freezer. I had been to this Valparaiso store about a month prior inquiring about a stove and was printed out the info for it, my intent was to purchase that as well. Unfortunatly for them Nasons had the stove as well, so it will be coming with the freezer and it was less $$$. The man in this store needs to find another job, he doesn't have a clue on how to serve customers. read more

Bought a washer/dryer a year ago. Washer is not working, called for service and never got a call back. When i called a second time they said that the next opening was in 2 weeks. When i said that i could not wait that long, the lady said "then go somewhere else" and hung up. I have always been a supporter of small local businesses but no more. They came and fixed the dishwasher, but here it is again 2 weeks later and it has the same problem. We called twice and left messages but no one called back, so now when I called it will be another week before they will come again to fix it again. We purchased a speed queen dryer from Tylisz. We had problems with this dryer putting grey streaks on white clothes, pillow cases, towels, etc. within a year of purchasing. Purchase date was 18JUL2018 from Robert Tylisz Appliance in La Porte, IN 46350. First complaints were made to Tylisz Appliance in fall 2019. Seals or rollers were suspected, and Tylisz Appliance finally replace rollers and rear seal under warranty on 22MAY2020. The dryer continues to put marks on clothing, which are impossible to remove, and ends up ruining the clothing articles. Speed Queen suggested fall of 2020 that the Tylisz repair technician call them for instructions on how to correct this problem, but we are again waiting for months on end to get a response. Very disappointed in both Speed Queen and Robert Tylisz at this point after years of an unsolved issue. read more

I recently just visited this establishment and had a very disgruntled young lady help me set up a time for the service technicians to fix my dryer. When the technician arrived he was late rude and then decided to tell me how his day was so bad because one of there employees had covid 19, and how they should be shutting down and getting tested but will not because the owner can't run a business very well. Very unprofessional and i will not return due to unprofessionalism and the fact that the owner doesn't think of anyone else but himself. read more
