After calling in panic about an itchy rash on my neck/shoulders, I was seen for an emergency visit. After 2 minutes, I was immediately told I had shingles. My symptoms? Severe itchiness. I spent 1 week on unnecessary anti-viral medication (Valtrex) that made me tired and unwell, the rash cleared slightly but itching was still severe, keeping me up at night. I had a follow up the next week with noticeably more bumps/blisters down my arm, was told I didn't need more Valtrex and was prescribed a topical steroid. For shingles? I should have known at that point this wasn't shingles, but instead placed my trust in a medical professional who specializes in skin conditions. Two days later, I rushed to the ER as I now had a severe rash on additional parts of my body. After a thorough examination, two ER doctors confirmed this was NEVER shingles - it was poison ivy. They prescribed me an oral steroid (prednisone) and said it would get better in 1-2 days. I saw an additional dermatologist for another opinion and he confirmed it was never shingles, just a severe (and dangerous) allergic reaction to poison ivy. I called Greenwich Point Dermatology to let them know, they apologized for the misdiagnosis and said they would speak to their practice manager. I got a call from the PA who misdiagnosed me and she was unapologetic - she's STILL claiming I may have had shingles, but noted it was difficult to diagnose initially. Really? Because you seemed pretty certain after seeing me for 2 minutes that it was shingles 2 weeks prior, and doubled down on the diagnosis even when I came in for a follow up with a rash that had now spread. I'm looking forward to putting this behind me, but I spent nearly 2 weeks misdiagnosed with shingles, out from work, bedridden and sleeping 15 hours a day with no relief, even contemplating suicide several times, when in reality all I had was untreated poison ivy. I thought I was crazy, was told my issue was a nervous system one, to just calm down and relax. I'm extremely frustrated at the medical irresponsibility of this practice, and the larger issue with our healthcare system refusing to take the time to holistically examine patients and their symptoms. It's all about the money. So sure, if you want fillers and botox, this place may be for you. It's boujee. But if you have a real MEDICAL concern, I'd go somewhere else.

All were totally successful. I've been religious about following his instructions for wound care and even though the stitches aren't due to come out until next week, it is obvious that it is healing perfectly and there will be no scar at all! Great work by a great doctor!

You are looped into various voicemails for the Stanford and Milford locations. Unless you have an emergency which I haven't tested yet, no one ever answers the phone. I had to play phone tag simply to schedule an initial consultation that was referred by another physician. When I asked for a better time to call so I could speak with staff, I was told that they don't answer the phone because they don't have enough staff to handle the calls and that I simply needed to leave a message and wait for a call back. I told her that I missed their call twice already because of that policy. Who does that in today's day and age? I think that they can afford for one person to pick up the phone when the phone rings so that patients can get information and schedule appointments. Not impressed. The Dr better be fabulous or will go elsewhere. Need Mohs surgery for skin cancer.

The strange part is that they never verified my coverage with the insurance company first. In most medical offices, the staff checks benefits, co-pays, and coverage details directly with the insurance provider using the billing codes. That is literally part of their job. Instead, they wanted ME to call and figure everything out myself, even though I already provided my insurance card. I explained that I was not comfortable leaving a credit card without knowing exactly what would or would not be covered. Leaving a card on file without verification feels like giving a blank check. Everyone knows insurance companies often do not pay 100% of inflated medical charges, and patients can end up receiving surprise bills. The staff kept pushing paperwork and forms on a tablet instead of doing their own verification work. I found the process extremely unprofessional and incompetent. In all my years dealing with doctors' offices, I have never been told that verifying insurance coverage was my responsibility. Unfortunately, I wasted my time and left without seeing the dermatologist. I'm sorry to leave this review, but I think people should be very careful before signing forms or leaving a credit card without clear information first.
