YUP im coping, pasting and fixing my errors from google review - this doctor and his staff deserve another 5 star review, so here goes Dr. Robert Zane is an exceptional doctor not only does he have excellent beside manner he goes out of his way to speak our native language - Spanish - to my mother even those she understands English - he is very patient, and has such a soothing demeanor - he communicated clearly and softly throughout the minor procedure he performed on my mother. Staff is great as well calling immediately after making appointment to let me know of a deductible. I feel very fortunate to have Dr Zane as my podiatrist and I do mean that in a professional manner which is why I didn't just say foot doctor. Dr Zane is very knowledgeable in his profession and he takes time to explain your foot problems and share his expertise with you. He makes you feel very comfortable and has a wonderful bedside manner. If he feels you need any outside of his practice assistance he doesn't hesitate to refer you. I have seen other foot doctors but during the twenty years or so he is my go to podiatrist. A true hidden gem of Brooklyn. This doctor is very skillful, highly experienced (30 years) and very generous with his compassionate and positive energy. Very good people-skills. Front desk is also very helpful and efficient - in person and over the phone. Sometimes, the best docs are the ones that aren't part of the luxury clinic/hospital with mint amenities/facilities but their true value is really their genuine interest of serving and curing their patients effectively. All I can say is OMG. I'm not a fanatic on Yelp as I believe you either have a shitty experience and give a horrible review or you simply loved it and you give it 5 stars. I found Dr. Zane by reading the comments on yelp. My mom is 90 years old and although she has Dementia, she vividly remembers her shitty experience with a neighborhood podiatrist who accidentally cut her. I left a message after hours asking about insurance coverage and an appointment for my mom. To my surprise my call was returned the very next morning with an appointment for 10:30. Although I got there quite early, the receptionist/assistant whom I wished I would have asked for her name greeted me and mom took our information and get this........not even 10 minutes later took us into Dr. Zanes office. This man is amazing! While he worked on moms feet we spoke about animal cruelty, the chicken place on Moore street, monkey brains and neighborhood doctors who have since left. He was so amazing that once he was done with mom I asked if he took my insurance which is Cigna. If this hasn't grasped your attention keep reading.... once he said yes I quickly jumped in that chair right behind my mom, who although will forget her awesome experience by tonight, right now believes he is the God of all feet! Dr. Zane took care of my feet as gentle as he did moms. I was sitting there wondering why I paid for a pedicure the day before when he did a better job (minus the nail painting). Hey, like I said, I'm not into Yelp and reviews but I found him and tried him because of all the good stuff I read. Had an excellent experience from start to finish with Dr. Zane. Friendly man, calm and really takes his time. Explains every step of the process and will answer all questions thoroughly. He saw my 12 yr old daughter for an infection and explained all possibilities and offered his recommendation on what to do. Guided us on even which shoes to buy because she is a runner. Dr. Zane, podiatrist, is a champ. I'm not going to go into detail about what was wrong with my feet. You should just picture two amazingly sexy feet, size 10.5, with all 10 toes. I won't share the things the good doctor did to make them even more astoundingly glamorous - hard to believe considering they're practically foot model-grade shape. I will say it was affordable at $65 for the visit (the uninsured like me and those paying out of pocket take note), accessible (it's just a walk-in clinic with bank-like hours), and the interaction from the folks at the front desk to the waiting room (I think everybody on staff is bilingual Spanish/English) was pleasant. What made my first experience truly awesome was the good doctor playing drum solos on YouTube during my little minor surgery. After he found out I was a drummer, Dr. Zane immediately found a live version of Edgar Winter's Frankenstein he thought I had to see. Whatever blinding pain I should have been feeling vanished. Perhaps that was just the local anesthetic. The office itself, shared with another primary care physician with whom I've also had good experiences, is somewhat less modernized than the other walk-in facilities in the surrounding areas, like Greenpoint's Manhattan Medical (at $120 a visit) or the Duane Reades (at $220 and up per visit). There's less hand-holding and fewer lollipops to make your boo-boos go bye-bye. This and the moderate interior decorating let's the office pass the savings on to you! That rate for a visit matters a lot when costs of medical care prohibit people from getting care. This part of Williamsburg isn't filled with condos. It doesn't have the artisinal mayonaise shops - at least not yet. This is still old-school Williamsburg, East Willy B. Dr. Zane's office lets folks from the old neighborhood actually afford care. I think young people moving to the neighborhood, the ones in that gap between coverage by their parents' insurance and finding a job that supplies it, ought to know about this too. read more

Awesome! I couldn't recommend Dr. Zane highly enough! Firstly, I was really happy that I got a Saturday appointment having called to schedule only two days before. When I arrived I filled in all of my new patient paperwork and I didn't even get a chance to sit down before they were ready for me. The receptionist was super friendly and happy to answer any questions I had. The decor is definitely 'no frills' but, echoing the sentiments of Nate B, I'm happy to forgo swank surroundings for the money saved. Without insurance I paid $60 for my consultation and their consultation costs include any injections you may need (I had two cortisone shots). I didn't need x-rays but Dr. Zane said they charge $40 if necessary and they charge $250 for orthotics. The price for orthotics has remained the same for the 20 years that they've been there! Dr. Zane himself was amazing. He is really kind, caring and attentive. Even though he had more patients waiting for him he took the time to explain everything and answer all of my questions. I had previously been to a podiatrist a few blocks away and had felt completely rushed by the doctor and the staff so it was a breath of fresh air to feel relaxed, at ease and like I was being listened to. At the other clinic I also got the feeling that I was trying to be sold additional services and products that I didn't need but Dr. Zane was the complete opposite. He was aware that I didn't have insurance so was intent on keeping costs at a minimum for me. I'm all fixed now but I look forward to the time I need to see Dr. Zane again! read more

One of the nicest receptionists I've ever encountered. I had a 10am appointment with Dr. Zane at 1030 the receptionist apologized for the wait and asked me if I needed anything. Most medical offices wouldn't have cared less. Dr. Zane has great bedside manner and explained everything to me, what I was doing wrong, and how to prevent further damage to my feet. If I could give Dr. Zane and his team 10 stars I would! I went to see Dr. Zane last week with problems with my ankle and toe. The first point of contact is his amazing receptionist Carmen. She is so incredibly helpful and polite which added to the whole pleasant experience. Dr. Zane himself spent about 30 minutes with me trying to fully understand my pain and the best ways to treat me. It's the first time I've ever been to the doctor and not felt rushed or like just another number. I'm not exaggerating when I say it has been the best experience I've ever had at a doctors office. Dr. Zane is so generous with his time and knowledge and has seriously helped me manage my pain. The next day Dr. Zane called me personally to check up and see how I was doing. I was experiencing terrible pain in my foot, and saw another podiatrist about a week before Dr. Zane. The previous one didn't believe me and treated me incorrectly, making the symptoms worse. When I went in to see Dr. Zane however, he not only believed me but diagnosed me within seconds and was able to treat me! It turns out I had a Neuroma and all it required was some cortisone injections over the course of a few weeks. He's also super friendly and kind and makes you feel comfortable even when injecting your foot! Impressive. read more

Got an appointment same-day as I called, on a Saturday. Didn't have too long of a wait either. Apparently they take walk-ins too but it's better to make an appointment. Dr. Zane is a nice and funny guy. I found out what had been bothering me for so long (not at all what I thought it was!) and he treated it, very gently, and told me what I should do to maintain it. Dr.Robert. Zane is the best podiatrist I ever came across. He is very friendly, very professional and makes you feel extemely comfortable . He takes his time, ask questions, listens to all your concerns and makes sure you're leaving his office happy and content with his service. I took my 80 year old mom and while Dr Zane is working on her extemely bad feet she told him that he was very light handed and that it didn't bother her feet. Waiting time the first time was 10 minutes and the second visit the Dr took her in right away with no wait time. Dr. Zane is one in a million doctors that genuinely cares about his patients. Did I mention that he was funny too. Almost forgot to add that his staff is very friendly and professional as well. I found Dr. Zane because of these yelp reviews and so I have to pay it back. Everyone in that office (love you, Lucy!) is kind and patient. I was stressed about the needles and procedure and they literally held my hand, told me jokes, and fed me popcorn. The procedure was actually quite painless and the doc was a master at the injections for novocaine and I literally felt nothing which is a big difference from past experiences with other doctors. Additionally, this was my third doctor to deal with this issue and he was the only one able to properly handle everything. The doctor himself even called the next day to check on me. Dr. Zane is a pleasant man, but his facility is completely lacking in basic hygiene. The room looked unclean, and furniture broken. There was no foot bath to clean feet, or at least he did not bring one out. He pulled the instruments he used out of a cardboard box; they were not enclosed in plastic or any wrapping, and while working on my foot simply dropped them back in the same box. There was no obvious place to sterilize anything. The doctor cut my toenails but didn't soften the edges. I am diabetic and fortunately did not have any cuts at the time of my appointment because, if I had, I would have been seriously worried about infection. Honestly I have never been to a worse podiatrist office, here in the U.S. or in my home country of Uruguay. read more
