Ever since I've been a fan of every cheese from Cypress Grove. My favs are the soft ripened varieties including all the Humboldt Fog remixes. The fresh cups are super spreadable varieties that can transform even the most casual cheese courses into something special. I love when I stumble on one I've never tried - it lands in my grocery basket without as much as a second guess. Can't wait for the Chipotle Cacao remix! I can't remember a cheese course I've served without Humboldt Fog - if I had a dollar for every time someone told me I turned them onto HF, I'd have a small fortune. Guy went to the back came back less than 5 mins and tossed a bag on the scale tied it up and charged us. We get home they were absolutely not trimmed and covered in silver skin, and globs of fat. If you're a butcher you don't leave silver skin on meat like that. We trimmed the meat and as it was a full pound lighter we decided to season and cook it. We cooked it like we always cook our tri tips (usually from Costco) and this meat was so chewy it was absolutely not choice grade meat. Never again will we go to springville meat co.

Sweetness & Light is such a cute shop, they have their chocolates behind the glass, as well as candies like lollipops, Pez, Necco wafers, and Big League Chew on one side of the store. The man behind the counter was super nice and answered all my questions about what was in each chocolate and if they had nuts, etc. We all picked a variety of chocolates to try and as soon as we walked out, had to try them. I mean, it was hot, and we had to enjoy them before they melted right? We enjoyed all the flavors we got. The one I enjoyed the most was the lavender chocolate - yum! They also had bars of chocolates pre-wrapped and sold by the pound: Moo Bars with caramel, marshmallow and almonds, and the Aalynda Corner with chocolate nougat and caramel. I got the Aalynda Corner. I didn't try that one until we got home, and if you eat it I recommend you try and finish it in one sitting - or share. Keep it for another day like I did and you'll find the caramel and nougat filling starts spilling out everywhere. But it's sweet and chocolatey and so good!
