What a wonderful way to spend a wonderful day! Walk around, enjoy the park and see a lot of geese, ducks and some fish! I brought some bread crumbs BUT its for the fish, so dont freak out...I only had my leftover sandwich crumbs AND they loved it. Wish I had my pole but not too sure about fishing these little public spots, so I usually skip them anyhow. The birds were so fun though, maybe a little intimidating too. The hissing can be scary. I brought a bag of defrosted peas for the ducks and geese and THEY LOVED THEM!!! I also had a few leftover doritos in a single serving bag so less than 3 doritos but they were really a hit and I broke them into crumbs so everyone got a tiny taste. Lots of animals and live music.Geese, ducks, swans, fisherman,dogs and children.It was a complete surprise near the 101 freeway. Went back in we evening with live bands and good food next door. Be care with the geese they are hungry. read more

This place has/ had so much promise. I used to love coming here as a kid back when it was ok to feed the ducks and geese and there was 0 tents and campers along the street and lake. They have tried to clean it up but it's just a rough area now. The dog park is large and has a small dog area. They finally added a rule about no unaltered dogs over 6 months old which is nice bc we've had issues with people bringing their aggressive breeding dogs in there in the past. There's a cute little dock and you can technically fish in there but I wouldn't. It's a small dirty lake that's over run with fowl. I love all the ducks and geese I just don't think they are very clean. lol! Hoping they keep the area cleaned up and bring some life back into it. read more

Just for the record I have never actually been in the park but have drove by 4 and it's a hard no for me to go in. There is a homeless encampment directly across the street, nothing against homeless folks for some are just going through very rough times. A recent journey with my old dogs through the area - we found this cool shade tree covered dog park. It's a nice sized park that's been split into sections - one for large breeds and one for older and small breeds. My two geriatrics thoroughly enjoyed themselves on the old dog little dog side, stretching their legs and strolling around (not much running anymore) with plenty of room to roam and a bench (several) close by for me to sit and watch while they walked off their energy, took care of their dog business and got a drink(or two) of water. Then back on the road - on our journey. Easy access, nicely maintained and a relatively good time for its purpose. Will visit and use again whenever we're traveling in the area and the old dogs need a little break. 3.5 stars - rounded up for being easy access. 00444 read more

I want to like this park but like a number of other dog parks in the county the city doesn't seem to care that the foxtails are a dangerous problem that could be easily handled by mowing earlier in the spring before the seeds develop. Of course that never happens and dogs are at risk everytime they go there just doing what dogs do, if they sniff they go up their nose and if they run and play they get caught between their toes or embedded in their skin, either way it can mean an expensive trip to the vet. Add to that the place is a mud pit in the winter. The best time to use it is in early spring for about two weeks before the weeds dry and after the rainy season is over. read more

Fun place to bring my two dogs and let them play and run around like idiots. I like the double gates. Much better than the cotati dog park. Wish there was more grass or landscaping. Been coming here for a few months now and have mixed feelings. It's pretty much your average dog park, nothing crazy. There's definitely some usuals here along with a mixed crowd. I hadn't had any issues coming here until today. There's a large sign that clearly states "Intact Dog and/or Aggressive Dogs older than 6 months Prohibited" and another sign "Smoke-free, no food inside dog park" in all caps. Well, today there wasn't just one intact male dog but two, definitely over the age of 6 months. Both who were wandering around and humping other dogs and then the two were just humping each other and became aggressive. Ugh. Along with the owner of one sitting on bench, eating something while his dog took a crap, in which he presumed not to notice and did nothing. I prefer Sebastopol's dog park at Ragle Park and will go there over this one everyday, now or drive to Santa Rosa or Petaluma if needed, unfortunately. People, there are rules for reasons, please respect that. read more

This is a great dog park. The grass is a little unkempt and and lake itself could use some upkeep but it's a beautiful setting to sit and relax while your dog goes out to play and get some exercise. Depending on the size of your dog there is a smaller offset fenced in area where small dogs can socialize without being roughed up by the larger breeds. No matter what your dog/s needs are they will be met at this park. Don't forget your leash! read more

I think this is a great dog park! Larger than a lot of other ones I've seen... it's a good size. Of course nothing like Fort Funston in SF or the one in Petaluma but it's still nice and well kept. There are two sections, one for large dogs and one for small and senior dogs. I think this is great b/c I have two little ones and sometimes they get trampled by the giants that sometimes visit this park. It's a great space and it's nice and grassy. Perfect spot for a nice run around and some dog-dog interaction. It's very nice and convenient for us. I'm happy that Rohnert Park is able to keep and maintain such a nice little doggy park for their four legged patrons. read more

Very nice dog park! Located right off the road, but there is a nice walk along the water and enough room for lots of dogs to play. I like the set up! Lawn chairs to sit, fountain for the dogs, grass and mulch to play in. read more

Whoever says this dog park is nice. Only pros on this dog park is that it has both small and dog fenced, parking, shade and seats. The rest is you get tall weeds, bums and some dog owners who doesn't watch after their furry pets and pools of dog poo that never got picked up. Been here once never coming back. I drive on this park and clearly you can see it's not well maintained. If you can accept this dog park as it is and not compare it another say Deer creek village dog park. This has been one of the best dog parks we've been to in the area. The people that come here are always very nice and friendly and keep a good eye on their dogs. Pretty well kept grounds too, though it gets a bit muddy after a rain storm, the wood/bark definitely help cut down on the impact. read more

This park had a lot of potential as a place to take my beasties to run off some steam: close to main roads, trees for shade, lots of benches and seating, double gate, separate gray room for oldies and littles, and a water source. But holy jeebus, whoever planted the prickly, nettle-like ground cover on the hillside near the entrance needs to be smacked. Not only did it take me 45 minutes to brush out the dried burrs and prickly stems (and I've got 2 spaniels in summer cuts -- not exactly high maintenance), but by the time I was 5 minutes away from the park, before the brushing, my arms had broken out in pinprick hives just from touching them while trying to pull out the bigger twigs and clumps at the park. And I rarely have allergic reactions to anything. So, unless I feel like ODing on Benadryl, we probably won't be back. read more

This dog park needs to be maintained. There is tall grass that is certainly welcoming to snakes. I do not want my little dog running around here. This place has potential if it is just better kept. Glad that it is not too far from home, just wish there was something nicer. read more

It is o.k. if your in a pinch to get Fido out on a quick run. If your up for the drive, Rocky memorial dog park in Petaluma gets my vote. It is almost 8 acres, so there is plenty of room for your pooch to gallivant around. Also if its a nice day or not, Dillion beach in Bodega does not have leash laws and is fun for all. if its windy don't forget to bring a kite. read more

Pros: Separate area for small and older dogs. Nice large area for bigger dogs. Small dog area has plenty of shade and a water fountain. Large dog area has benches. The large dog area is quite roomy. The small dog area is adequate, space-wise. Cons: Very poorly maintained. Small dog area (where my pup and I usually go) is full of foxtails and prickly weeds. There are large holes in the ground and it's full of dog waste. You really need to watch where you step all the time. The only seating in that area is a few broken or warped lawn chairs. Overall, it's a good enough space for the animals but not very pleasant for the people. They also could give 15 or 20 more feet of width to the small dog area and still have more than enough room for the large dogs. read more

The park itself is okay, but the usual group of people who take their dogs there often in the mornings think they own it. They're cliquish and unwelcoming, both to new people and to new dogs.It's really no fun to take your dog there and sit alone while a bunch of old people sit in a group and watch and judge your dog's behavior. This is a pefectly nice dog park; long and narrow, yes, but that works for dogs who like to chase balls. Many dogs of different sizes play reasonably well together, and owners are cautious, as others have mentioned. There have been some upgrades recently (wooden benches/mulch in muddy areas) that are much appreciated. In addition, there are some kindly "regulars" who add to the charm. read more

If there is no where else to go with your dog in the area then this place is fine but nothing special. it's sort of a long, skinny fenced in patch of scrub land with a few plastic chairs. personally, i'd rather just walk my dogs on leash in my neighborhood then go hang out here. i give it a "W" for "whatever". read more
