I ordered lunch for the first time via Grubhub. The wife enjoyed an order of eggplant rollatini. I ordered a Cuban empanada and a pastrami/provolone/slaw hero. The rollatini was very good. The eggplant was tender and the filling very nice without being too heavy. The empanada was easily the best I have ever eaten. The shell was thin, light and flaky. The inside was very flavorful and plentiful. (They offer a vast selection of filling choices. Next time I might just order several knowing that it will be excellent). The hero was good but far from great. The pastrami needed to be sliced thinner and the coleslaw probably had cilantro in it of which I am not a fan. My suggestion is stick with the empanadas and the Italian offerings. Very nice!! read more

I've been disappointed for the past few months about the quality and service of various restaurants and delis in Queens BUT NOT ROBERTS PRIME MEATS. They are GREAT. I don't travel Francis Lewis Blvd. to shop/eat etc., but when I am there I treat myself to a dish from them. I try something new every time and they don't disappoint. Today I had the lemon pepper chicken wings and Wow! Better than what I've had at any of the chicken wing chains. BUT... my absolute favorite is their Shrimp Oreganata. Best I've ever tasted. The display of salads and hot dishes is, well, pretty, lol! And interesting. I want to ask them questions as to what everything is but, not only is that annoying, and they are busy serving other costumers. My only suggestion is they have the names of each dish displayed on a label/sign, etc. Simply put, I've been going to them for over 20 years and I'm so glad they are here. We came here before going to the beach to get a couple of heroes. We ended up getting the #1 must have it and #2 the Brooklyn chicken cutlet club. Both sandwiches had a very good amount of meat on them and tasted good. So, I've been here only a few times. Their food is pretty good. The other day I picked up what they called "the Long Island" and asked it in a wrap form. That was actually pretty yummy. So obviously the sandwich was delicious. But I was pleasantly surprised to find the staff extremely friendly and attentive. New Yorkers are known for our cut throat, no nonsense attitude (IYKYK) and the staff here were nothing but excited to serve you and take your order. They give you suggestions, they remember your name, and you can just tell that they really love what they're doing and love the place. I liked that they had frozen gnocchi in the freezer and I used to get them there on occasion. $7 for a small bag that's about 1 serving. A bit pricey but I just paid extra since the location was so convenient. But one day the owner says it's $10. WTF. I switched over to Durso's, which is several blocks away and it's $5 dollars a bag. Not only did they NOT MAKE IT RIGHT by refunding me the cost of the items, or even attempting to - one of the owners actually told me that they check & verify the orders before the orders go out implying that I was not being truthful. How dare you!? He basically just kept coming up with nonsensical explanations that got us no where. So here I am, telling my story. Simply said, great food. POOR BUISINESS PRACTICE. My advice, the next time a customer comes in and complains, respect the customer, carefully evaluate & always look to immediately make the customer feel you care & that you will make things right. This butcher store is right in my neighborhood they have some really good ready made stuff if you go there you have to try the grilled calamari with the veggies in a vingerette dressing its to died for. also I try their roasted beets and their bean salad they take pride in what they serve the guys working there are so helpful. The deli is totally immaculate the food is very fresh the people are very nice. Definitely a deli I wish we had in upstate New York. I had grilled veggie and provolone sub my son had chicken Parmesan sub. I was happy to show him what good Italian bread is like. The veggies were grilled to perfection. WARNING! They charge you for container and wrapping weight as well. Usually we get steaks and meat from Fairway or other butcher shops in the city. This time we got unplanned BBQ and got steaks from Roberts which was nearby. Btw we bought ribeye steak for $45 per pound worth $200. When weighting the meat worker didn't account wrapping weight, so we were charged for all wrapping paper $45 per lb as well. When I tried to say something about that worker refered to his boss standing next to him, who told us that they do it this way if I don't like it just don't come here. OMG never seen such DISRESPECT to customers. Never going to go back and don't recommend anyone. There are bunch of better butcher shops with fair weighting and pricing. read more

For 30$ you'll get one steak which is amazing for one guy one meal, but u want to share the love. Or u can date a Vegan I guess. You want to splurge. You got the money and the refined tastes; you buy it here. I bought it to celebrate being named Godfather to special baby girl. It's a lifetime thing. So I fed myself and her parents one glorious weekend night. Unforgettable meal. I still daydream about that RibRoast. So does the baby's father. We sit back months later and talk about that meal. 92$ was never so well spent. Remember that a steak house more than doubles the price so this was a 230$ meal.
