    Amazing Cheeseburger!!!
    George M.

First some background, on the legacy of Astoria's Neptune Diner one of the greatest diners in the in the history of diners: Neptune Diner wowed dinners for several decades before some of the owners great tired of running a 24 hour business while the other still had more life in them. Sealing its fate was the fact that it was operating atop of ever growing more valuable real estate. This came to a head a couple of years ago and the decision to sell was sealed. Fast forward, the owners that still wanted to continue the legacy took over Jackson Hole Diner in Bell Blvd. And I've been meaning to try it ever since. Today was that day. My guests ordered the usual diner breakfast fare. There orders were very good. I knew that the proof of whether the spirit of the original survived would be in the burger and aroma in steak, respectively. The section on what to order came down to economics: burger 12 bucks and Romanian steak $44 (yes $44 ($10 short of a NY strip steak) I'll be back for the Romanian). What was the verdict you ask? I enjoyed one of the best burgers I've ever had. The wait staff was also spectacular. King Neptune Diner Astoria is dead, long live King Neptune Diner Bayside.

The 31 dollar special of the chicken pot pie was not so special because while yes it came with chicken noodle Matza ball soup and a salad, it was not very special. I would not have ordered the soup if I knew it came with noodles-that was a surprise. No one told the three us about the specials, brought us bread, cole slaw or a pickle for my sister's sandwhich. That is typical for other diners and for 31 bucks the others give a choice of free dessert. They did not even offer that or post dinner coffee. Odd. Going elsewhere .

My late partner, and I ate here a few times, and it has always been good, but I've never written a review. I stopped in for dinner tonight, and it was as good as it has always been. This is nothing more than a good old-fashioned Greek diner. Great people, big menu, and great food. I decided to order from the specials menu tonight. I started with a cup of the the avgolemono, the Greek lemon chicken soup. It was so good! The chicken was tender and delicious,, it had orzo in it, and the orzo was also tender, and the lemon provided a nice " Tang" to the soup. A total home run. For my main course, I had the lemon chicken. Again, a total home run. The chicken was so tender, it was literally fall off the bone. You could taste the lemon, it was spiced well, just a fantastic Dish. The potatoes that it came with were fork tender. Again, totally delicious. I had enough left over to take back to my hotel with me. Prices are a tiny bit on the higher end, but considering the high-quality and quantity of the food? Worth every penny. I will be back. Thank you.

Dined food is comfort food! I wasn't sure what I was craving so I decided to go for a variety of foods and each one of them was delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a lot of seating and luckily my friend and I got a booth which is what we were looking for.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the Fried calamari which was hugeeeee. We had to stop ourselves from eating too much before the entrees arrived so that we would be able to enjoy our other dishes as well. The calamari was perfectly crispy and the marinara sauce paired great with it. We got spaghetti with Parmesan cheese on top. It is your basic spaghetti which was what I was craving so that was great. Then we also got the banana and Nutella pancakes which were also huge and delicious. The whipped salted butter was the star of the show because everything was on the sweeter side so the butter really added a nice hint of saltiness. The servers were super sweet. They checked up on us multiple times and even offered to give more cheese for the spaghetti. When packing the food the go because we had a lot of leftovers, we asked for a container for the marinara sauce too which they sweetly topped off for us. Not only did the food taste of comfort but the staff made us feel super comfortable as well!

Greeted immediately after a long walk in extreme heat, then seated in a comfortable booth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The air conditioning was perfect.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The coffee was delicious. The food was fresh and plentiful. The service was excellent. No one rushed us. Everyone smiled. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The diner seems kind of old, but also seems to be regularly scrubbed and polished.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A very comfortable place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had a very nice time.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Dinner here on Friday evening was delicious, but gets super crowded during the evening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was delicious and plentiful. The hot chocolate was delicious. The waiter was very friendly, attentive and prompt. Great dinner in Bayside to experience.

I'll start off by saying that valet parking for a diner is a bit ridiculous but on to the food. The burger was a bit massive and well cooked it could have been seasoned a bit more for $16.50. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The diner itself had a great atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First time at the Neptune Diner.it was an overall great experience. Firstly, our waitress Ashley was friendly, engaging, and most importantly made us feel at home. I decided to go with the Crown Heights burger deluxe. It was cooked to perfection.as well as all of our food. The decor was typical diner decor but there was a great Victoria the place. Definitely, I will be back.

As always, I'm bias to the OG Neptune in Astoria, but my grandma lives close by & this is our favorite breakfast spot! They have a parking lot that's pretty convenient, but street parking isn't too hard to find if it's full! There's plenty of space inside & the menu is extensive & basically has anything you want! The food is always tasty, service is friendly & quick! Prices are reasonable! Someone once told me that if the coffee is good at a diner, chances are the food is good too! (Point being said - you can't go wrong with Neptune)

My wife ordered a mushroom room omelet with extra cheese and an order of hash . Folks, iam not cheap or watch how much I spend when we go out to eat but I refuse to be taken advantage off of what I get charged. THe mushroom omelet was charged for every thing that they put in .I was charged individually for the peppers ,mushrooms and what ever else they put in .the western omelet was not and had the amount of ingredients as the mushroom.ftom $12.95 the amount increased $5 more.why? The hash browns were also very expensive and the two strawberries on the waffle were $7.the Nutella swirling was also a $7 charge. Like I previously mentioned iam not cheap at all.but when I have seen the bill of $109.00 itpissedme off and I felt that I was raped.yes i know everything has increased and I know what the manager is going to say when they see this review. Shame shame shame on them they are truly ripping customers off.we will not ever go back to this establishment again and I will make sure I will inform my family and freinds.they are many dinners in the area to go to. Shame on you again.

This is, by far, the worst service I have ever experienced…read more I was really pulling for this place. I wanted it to succeed. I told everyone about it, that it was some of the best pizza in New York. I gave them so many chances. Last night was the final straw. Made a reservation for Friday night at 8PM. We arrived at 8:05. The waitress who's basically always there, who sounds like she smokes about a pack a day, was the only waitress there that night. I felt for her, but also, not my problem. We didn't receive water or a full set of utensils and menu until about 8:15. At about 8:25, she took our order, and we ordered a few apps and calzone and pizza. I had to ask for my coke about 4 times until she remembered to bring it. Water was NEVER refilled. We were never asked if we were ok. Around 8:50, we finally received our apps. It was ok, they've made it better in the past. Ambiance was starting to die down as the restaurant was clearing out. We felt a bit bad for her, but also, this wasn't our fault, that they were unprepared for a Friday night rush (her words). By 9:15, we were furious and our moods were ruined. We sat down at 8:05, ordered before 8:30, we were the only ones left and our pizza and calzone were yet to be found. Shortly before 9:30, it arrived. And again, it was pretty good, but not wait over an hour for it good. I wanted this place to succeed. The pizza maker from Italy deserves a better crew. The waitress doesn't know how to be a waitress, at all. No apologies, not taking anything off the check, not checking on us. There's no busboy, no one dedicated to take out, no manager. It seems that everyone plays each others roles, and quite poorly. They've lost a loyal customer tonight. We will NEVER give this place another try.
