We just happened to stop by the store to have a quick look. The store was a lot of fresh food. The Italian loaf of bread was fresh and sift. We bought sesame noodles and olive and onion focaccia. We heated up the focaccia, and the bread was amazing. The workers were amazingly fantastic. Very friendly people. Im glad we found this whole in the gem. We decided to try out Durso's sandwiches one evening after seeing such great reviews from fellow Yelpers. We ordered the Volcanic Eruption & The Italian Monster. Both were cold sandwiches with prosciutto and other types of Italian meats and cheeses. My favorite was the volcanic eruption, which was more flavorful and meaty. The Italian monster was a close second but I personally am not a huge fan of broccoli rabe in general. Overall, these were one of the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had. After a long night of drinking I woke up needing something to cure my hangover so I walked to Durso's and asked if they had any soup and thankfully they had two, one was chicken soup and the other was vegetable something. Interesting corner spot for some Italian grab and go joint. The people seem very friendly, they were dressed in butcher gown. I don't eat much Italian food, but I want to support our neighbor business. At first it was kinda confusing when I stepped in, everything was like stored in a huge fridge, I checked the menu and ask if there's any recommendations for lunch. I guy who took my order recommended me to try the chicken parmesan. I trusted him and went for it, he got me a hero it was close to $10, it was well sized, I had half and I was full. It was good, not the best I had, I didn't have much high expectations since everything was reheated. The marinara sauce tasted like it was not homemade, but it was still good, the mozzarella was better then the sauce. I also notice, this place is full with regulars. Everyone seems to know each other which was a plus. There is 8 to 10 people in back of the fridge, I guess it can get busy in there. I am assuming people buy big portions of homemade pasta, and cheese for home storage. I might want to go back and grab some frozen Ravioli and try the pasta. I ordered an eggplant parm, the Italian Monster, and cannoli. All great. The eggplant parm had ricotta with mozzarella cheese and marinara. The ricotta was a very smart touch to a classic combo of marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. The Italian monster had layers that rival planet earth of broccoli rabe, mortadella, capicola, prosciutto that was out of this effing world, and various cheeses. That prosciutto was heavenly. The canoli was delicious. Not too sweet where it hurt my teeth or activated bitter senses on my tongue. Seriously, why the hell did I wait to eat from Durso's? I came today alone because of the the Covid 19 virus and I can't be with my family on Easter . Normally the food here is good. However, I ordered a salad (old lettuce). Additionally I ordered salmon with a funny taste and just the other day I received string beans that tasted spoiled. I only had it in my fridge one day. I think I'll be cooking my own food from now on. I'm very disappointed with the quality of the food. Of course the owners welcome you to being the food back, but if the food was on point there'd be no reason to bring it back. In times like this you can't take chances with food.
