Checking in was easy, quick, and the manager was great. As I mentioned, the room was very clean. Even better, the bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet. Didn't hear a noise all night. Breakfast was included with the stay. Many positive points to their breakfast staff. Great people, and the food was amazing. In summary, I rate this facility very highly !

Two other couples came in behind me and immediately said hi Sunshine. She started talking with them and started checking them In. I stepped away from the desk and stood on the other side as she chatted and checked both parties in. I then stepped up to the desk again and said that she was rude and that I was there before they arrived. She replied that she didn't see me. . I'm 5'7". . I was in room #1 which is right next to the road. I asked if there was another queen available. She replies "no, you booked the cheapest room". ($254). She also stated that the road is very quiet at night and she was correct. The room was quiet. The bed was comfy. I woke early and left. Would I recommend? Yes if you book late and everything else is full. They have made to order breakfast which is not free.

Joliet is a small town on the way to one of the entrances to Yellowstone Park. There are no big-name hotels in this area, so you need to rely on the small-town often family-run businesses. Botts is that! You can't even make a reservation online. You have to call. How old school is that? But I like it. It's the personal touch. The fun thing about these small, non-chain places, is how unusual the rooms can be. This was no exception. When I walked in, there was a table for working with the coffee maker, the bed -- the usual, on the other side was the entrance to the very large bathroom. The room was set up as an L-shape and around the corner from the bathroom entrance, was a mini-living room. Two chairs, one a recliner, facing the large tv. Seriously? How amazing is that? The bed was good, comfortable, the pillows were okay -- but probably need a refresh, the wi-fi was good, the room was quiet, although I could hear the people in the room next to me who were having a good time yelling at the football game on their tv -- at least until it was over and then it was so quiet and the curtains kept the room so dark, that I overslept the next morning. It was a good day.

I don't have a lot of life policies, but never passing up a free donut is one of my top 3. Delicious donuts. Side note--we learned the next morning at breakfast that those "free" donuts in the afternoon were only there if the for sale ones didn't sell breakfast. Fair enough. The breakfast in the bar area was excellent. Sad that at least in last 2024, the bar isn't really open as a bar due to inability to adequately staff it. Sucks how much we destroyed ourselves in 2020-2023. Sitting in the bar here having cocktails before going to bed with the ghosts would be so amazing. Highly recommend staying here if you're in Red Lodge (and I highly recommend staying in Red Lodge if you can). I hope to be back.
